I know what you mean when you go for a walk. I’ve been feeling very low for the past month or so and nearly on the verge of going to see the doctor BUT I decided to try and help myself as tablets only mask the problem. As I’m lucky enough to live by the sea in Devon I was on the beach by 7am this morning, beach was empty - just how I like it being an introvert and just sat with my coffee watching and listening to the waves then sat with my journal and my book. I felt so energised by the time I got back to the cottage. I recommend this to anyone who is feeling low to just and go and walk, it’s good for the mind and being amongst nature is just beautiful.
@koipebbles49043 жыл бұрын
I’m really glad that taking some time out for a walk is so beneficial. I too often enjoy taking walks, particularly when I’m conscious of my mood dropping low again, as the fresh air and open spaces can help a lot in relaxing the mind and having a lone meditative period, alongside of course the light exercise being good for raising one’s mood. But please don’t feel shameful, guilty, or weak if you feel as though you still need to visit a doctor for a referral to therapy and/or some medication to help. It’s not going to cure anything 100%, but it can really help sometimes if you still feel as though you need a little support in order to help you, help yourself. Of course not suggesting a necessity of such, but it’s okay to ask for help too. I hope things ease up on you soon

@firelunamoon3 жыл бұрын
It's great that you're trying these things and I hope you feel better soon. But just wanted to point out that it's not true that tablets only mask the problem. What they actually do is they treat the biological aspect of a mental illness so that you get the breathing space to practice the healthy mental and physical habits that will help you heal. Without medication, the biological issue may be too overwhelming for someone to overcome on their own. So medication is not a short cut and it's not masking anything. It's just a tool that supports someone as they go about making the life changes that they need to improve their health. I really hope you'll get better without medication, but there's also nothing wrong with seeking professional help (medication or therapy) if you decide you need it.
@carolynmarshall19683 жыл бұрын
@@firelunamoon thank you! I do agree, I will if I get real bad, just want to try and help myself first. I woke this morning with knots in my stomach, made myself get out of bed and go for a walk, now sitting looking out to sea, knot still in my stomach and feeling crap. Will see how I go but yes I will seek help if needed. I’m already on anxiety tablets that I’ve been on for years, tried coming off them but went down hill again, so I do understand what you are saying.
@XTheBeautyGuruX3 жыл бұрын
A little thing: before making your bed, let it air out a bit. There's these things called dust mites, which are completely natural and actually beneficial as they eat up dead skin cells and stuff. However, an excess can cause bumps and allergic reactions, which is why it's best to just air everything out (maybe with an open window), as they thrive in a warmer and dense surrounding. Edit: especially people with sensitive skin! Edit: of course you don't have to do this. This is just what I was taught with a brother who has very sensitive and dry skin. And we do notice when he does air out his bed and doesn't
@XTheBeautyGuruX2 жыл бұрын
@AA you are so very welcome! Just let it air out. When there's no storm, you can open a window. If there's a storm, just open the door of the room you're in to kinda let it air.

This reminds me on when my family used to live in a village in the countryside. Our landlord in the city had just sold the flat and we had to find a place to live quickly and surprisingly a small place in the village was available for a reasonable rent. It was a lovely 1.5 years surrounded by nature, animals and serenity like in this video. I used to go on morning walks with a good book.
