So many people don't understand the potential of a rotary. 3 times more efficient than piston engines in terms of power/displacement and they can be reliable if built properly and maintained. Greatest engine design in my opinion

It's all about how much money you have. Haha. I have owned a 06' RX8 6 speed, and 95' RX7 FD3s, and it was stolen after short ownership, luckily the car was insured, and I have enough money to maintain it. When I was driving my RX7, man that's probably my best driving experience, despite the fact that the petrol consumption is around 20L/100kms. If you have enough money and want to pursue happiness, Rotary is the way the go. Otherwise, NA MX-5 is always right. haha.

my estimate for power is in the 900+ range i'd say it'll be pretty reliable since its N/A they may build a boosted one later once this engines had some time to play. which will be soon its in the car and ready to go its being revieled at the 2013 "V 4 & Rotary Nationals" which is jan 26th and 27th cant wait for all the vids.

On a rotary, there's one combustion cycle on each rotor for every rotation of the E-shaft. That makes it two-stroke from an angular standpoint. In acoustics frequency is cycles per second, and angle in radians is 1/seconds. The sound generated depends on the angle between each exhaust pulse. Therefore, the cylinder count changes the sound. The only reason Ferraris don't sound like 787'b-s is because they have separate headers. If they were one piece and all the same length they'd sound the same

low torque?!? at low RPMs yes, but they make torque AND horsepower at the top, at the same time, not torque at low RPM and HP at high RPM like steam-locomotive-based engines :P

Would be cool if you guys could drop this in a mid engine sports car, or even something german that originally had a V8 or V12, tone it down a hair noise wise, and make an insane street sleeper. Don't know Mazda's by model # but loved the 80's era RX7, 50/50 weight and just fun as hell to drive with the stk, high revving rotary engine that came with it. This, or ur previous 6B in the RX4 just scares me looking at it since that car can barely handle a rt turn at 20MPH. Insane Engine! Awesome.

I think they have three exhaust routed on the near side and the other three running underneath the back of the engine or right underneath the bellhousing, then running along the far side.

I'm fairly certain they are doing that with the 3rd generation of the renesis (engine in rx-8). They have patents for that and a twin spark system for more complete fuel burning.

With 4rotors in 1991, there was 700HP without turbo at 9000RPM.. The car weighed 800kg...(with the FIA rules so you can imagine without...) It was the best ratio weight power in this year.. For 6rotors, we can imagine 1500hp easily without turbo... With turbos, it would be a "godzilla's eater"!!! ;)

the 3 rotor is a 20B which you can buy.... the 26B (4 rotor) and ??B (6 rotor) require alot more custom work than that... i think i spotted a thread on building a 4 rotor a while back in which the writer had a build log. there was alot of work in that build and i would immagine even more work in this one.... one word describes my reaction right now: RESPECT! cant believe you guys built a 6 rotor and i can barely get my 13B to idle right :P
