I’ve always wanted a 6GT. Now that it’s complete, it’s time to send rounds down range! In this video, I'll cover optics, break-in, and some first loads!

same here. i haven’t seen barrel break-in processes make a bit of difference compared with just normal shooting then cleaning.

Just got my ACC in the mail today and ordered up a 26" Proof comp contour in 6GT with a Zermatt Origin action and TT Special single stage, and fat bastard break. Ordered some Alpha 6gt last week and the rcbs 2 die kit. I think this will serve my needs in PRS a little better than the Q Fix I've been using. Great videos man!

6GT, I used 32.6 varget with 109 hybrid's seated to jump .060" in hornady brass and cci 450's all last year. Muzzle velocity out of a 26" Benchmark barrel chambered with the .120 freebore reamer averaged 2840. I retired that barrel with 3400 rounds this spring. I'm using a Bartlein 24" 400MODBB barrel now. A reamer with the same .120 freebore was used to chamber this barrel. I am using RL-15.5 powder now at 33.0 grains, same bullet, jump, brass and primer. This load is moving along at 2825. Both loads have been very consistent and being lower in pressure has benefits in the reloading room, at wet matches here east of the Mississippi and I'm convinced it's why my previous barrel lasted so long. I really enjoy this cartridge and it has been serving me well in the regional and pro PRS matches for the last 3 years.

I just got mine last week. 28 in Bartlien 7.5 twist, MPA Chassis, diamond trigger tech, mark 5 2-25 cch ret. I put a load together alpha brass 36.0 h4350 108 eld match, 450 cci primers. CBTO 1.94 and was shooting .40 grouping.

The 112gr Barnes match burners and 6.5 Staball is a killer combo for 3K velocity, minimal recoil. I got into making my own chamber matched reloading dies from Newlon. Using precision ground reamers for the neck in the dies to set tension. Blank LE Wilson arbor dies with the same chamber reamer for bullet seating. Im noticing a big improvement in consistent accuracy with these dies

I've been shooting 6GT for a couple years now. I have a 22GT as well. I'm now building a light weight hunting setup in 6GT to shoot Barnes 95gr LRX bullets. Should be plenty for anything under 300 lbs, it will have great BC/velocity and be a pleasure to shoot. I have found running 109s -112s around 2900 FPS is the sweet spot for PRS in terms of ballistics, recoil management, barrel life and brass life. I think GT is a phenomenal cartridge and very versatile.

I'm running a 6GT from a Lone Peak action and Proof Competition barrel that was built by Preece Precision out of Utah. Shooting the 109 Bergers with Alpha brass and 31.9 grains of Varget. It's a pretty mild load at 2900 fps, but it is very accurate and extremely consistent.

Gav, I'm running two 6GTs, first one is a PRS setup built off a Tikka action. Barrel is a 23" Mullerworks, medium palma 7.5 twist running Lapua Scenar 105s - 34gr of ADI2208 (Varget) gives me velocity around 2900fps with an SD of 4.5, CCI BR4 primers and Alpha OCD brass. Second GT is an F-class Open setup with a 32" Bartlein truck axle, 8 twist running Berger 109s behind 38.2gr of ADI2209 (H4350). I have a Dan Bramley tuner on this barrel and the bullets are jumped 30thou off the lands. This gives me 3040fps with an SD of 4 and ES around 10. I've used this rifle to go 2 for 2 in competitions entered so far and it's knocking over Dashers and 6BRA setups. @gavintoobe Check which primer your using. THose SD's are a bit high for the 6mm GT. I had a similar result untill I switched primers and the SD's went down to rediculously low numbers.

A few of my go to loads have been 37.0gr h4350 with a 109 hybrid avg 2902 fps. Dropped the charge a bit this summer to 36.3 and that avg's 2844 fps and is a little softer recoil. Got a hold of some N555 and 37.5 gr with a 110 a tip is hammering and right at 2838 fps. All Alpha brass with cci 450. 25" barrel

It’s crazy to me that gt brass is available but not arc lol. I have been trying to do a budget arc and the one to have imo is the switchback bc of the 22 inch barrel. The 110 tac has an 18 smh. But it’s also sold out for the last three months. This has lead me down the path to the gt bc of the bolt face of course. We will see. At any rate that’s a badass rifle and I am sure it shoots 1 hole groups when you get that load dialed. Love your work. It’s very cool and helpful.

I think it’s because Hornady is great at marketing. I know 6.5 Creedmoor, 300 PRC, 6.5 PRC and 6 Creedmoor have all done really well and all were Hornady creations from past years, so naturally people are going to jump on the next thing they make. Good luck finding brass for their new 7 PRC.

I run a 6 Dasher through ARC archemedes action, proof competition contour barrel, area 419 brake, krg whisky chassis, and leupold mark 5hd. My load is alpha brass, cc-450, 29.6 gr varget using a Berger 105gr hybrid. My MV is around 2810 to 2840 depending on elevation. My SD with this load is 7.3 fps.

I have a nice custom barrel from PVA and I think he said it didn’t need breaking in. I did not and it shoots awesome 1k rounds later

MDT states that they cannot run the 6mmGT through their metal magazines because the shoulder hits one of the ribs. They suggest the poly mags only. How are you able to use the metal mags? Did you rework them somehow?

I just built a 6GT myself I used a Impact Precision action, Bartlein barrel,Triggertech Diamond trigger. Tract Toric scope Sphur mount rings. My load is 35.5 H4350 using Hornady 108gr ELD Match.Its running 3025..ES 4,SD 2.Also running Vapor Trail VTac.Cant remember the numbers right now.Great video

Maybe yall can help...I have a all arrow precision 6.5 creed and it just wont cycle the parts were ordered separately so it isn't a factory built but they were ordered as complete units...any ideas as why it wont cycle?

Why are you looking at spread during speed testing? Get your speed/powder node and then use seating depth to tune the spread....finally use the tuner to fine tune it!
