Switched up my technique and started chambering first before any tennon work. Helped with keeping the bore aligned. Highly recommend investing in iscar thread inserts, mirror finish on threads without any oil @ 180 rpm. Your a man of tools like I am, I invested into my own airgauge tool for sorting barrels. Surprising results found even with the best manufacturers. This tool allowed me to also find the taper of the bore made by Air Gauging LLC.

Nice results! I would appreciate your thoughts on how the chambering reamer is held in the machine. For a long time most people seemed to favor floating reamer holders. Then a lot of builders seemed to switch to solid reamer holders (I remember seeing at least one interview with a rifle builder on your channel detailing how that builder set it up in his machine), and now I see you are using what appears to be a type of hybrid system where the rear end is held steady but the front end can float? Thanks

Hi Gavin, super nice built. This type of precision is what need to up your game in precision rifle shooting. Wish that we in South Africa 🇿🇦 could built our own rifles like this. I am stoke about the new Bat Actions. Bought a Tikka T3x chamberd in 6.5 CREEDMOOR a year ago. Took me forever to get load development dailed in, as components are also hard to come buy. Running N550 or H4350 with Lapua Scenars 139gr. Seem to be a nice shooter. Thanks for the content. Like when rifle builds are being presented.

Could you do a “basics” video describing the bare basics of the different reloading components (presses, powder, primers, case prep tools, etc.?) what they’re called, what they are for, and different variations (like good, better, best / small, med. large) ? That wails be super helpful for a newbie to the sport like me…

That's the dream shop! Amazing. Question on the Chuck: Barrel extension is true enough to each other? Why do a barrel extension vs live rest? its a 60" lathe, wouldn't it be more accurate to put the muzzle end in the chuck and support the chamber end in a live rest? My thought is that any time you have a part to part interface, like the barrel extension, you get tolerance stack which can throw off the true.

You should consider a competition contour barrel (near straight) with full international weight kits you can’t get the balance forward enough with the foundation’s. That is why so many guys run that brass arca/arca weight at the front.
