I had this issue with a 2007 Chevy Silverado with a 6L90 , you need to use GM seals and check the correct installation of the rings, they have a small dimple on one side, the top 2 rings the dimple faces down and the bottom ring the dimple faces upwardes, he does not inspect the ring orentation when he changes them so you may want to check that, also these are known for the front clutch drum cracking and GM sells a fully assembled unit to address this issue via a TSB.

I will look at the dimples on another untouched transmission. Nevertheless, the pen rings sealed and I did not look at dimples. Also, I sent it to other trans shops and they could not get the Toledo rings to seal.

Replace the pump cover with the second design stator support that uses the sealing rings with the locator tabs and o rings, also replace the drum, welds crack. I have been doing these transmissions since they came out.

He also did not replace the rubber o rings under the sealing rings which get worn and do not push the sealing rings out to seal

The sealing rings did not seal. This was a Toledo kit. Transtec kit was able to seal.

Change to the 2nd design style stator, has o rings that go on first then the plastic rings over top seals just fine and air checks just fine and tight. We get our kits from a company called remco check them out.

I ordered some sealing rings from the chevy dealer and three orings came with the hard sealing rings. I did not know what they were for. Did not know that there was a different design stator. Have to check this out. The grooves must be deeper?

hello you advise? on D, my car won't move. the M starts off but the 1st, 2st, 3st at full throttle clutch slips. I changed the seal to 1,2,3,4. sealed to thcm, oil, filter. there are no wear parts in thcm. the pump seal is replaced. everything looks intact. the car has driven 60000mil. the stator rings are replaced. please help.6l50 camaro 2014 v6

You need 2nd design pump housing, uses different seal rings and an o-ring behind the seal ring to correct this!

Good evening and excellent find my friend ll sorry you had to go through horror but you figured it out my friend I'm dealing with this right now with a 6l80 so you had a delay in reverse and also in forward gears correct? I had used the Toledo kit I will be here checking everything I'm 90% this is what's going on with mine if so I'll order the sealing rings from the dealer just because I also want to replace the input shaft seals with OEM aswell. Where there any other signs besides just a delayed reverse? I have a transmission that acts very out of character from other transmissions in the same vehicles and the mechanics and I are trying to think what could be the cause prior to pulling the box out. These unusual characteristics where noticeable from when the car was brand new.

No, this problem caused the delay in reverse only. Now, this transmission is known to have torque converter problems. The converter becomes damaged and starts making metal in the transmission.

THIS IS YOUR TRANSMISSION 50,000km however these issues were noticeable from when I bought the car new. 2x other friends purchased the same model cars, but mine the only one with unusual transmission characteristics. I have had the car at 4x different tuners and all say the tweaked stock transmission tunes they tried do not act like most of the same cars they tune. They can not pin point what the cause might be. The car with its currently mods is making 640 rwhp

When you go to a tuner, that is out of my league. Tuners do modifications, which can mask problems. Unlike things to be set to factory settings and find problems.

I have a 6l80e in my Silverado 1500, that has a slight rpm bounce at light throttle under load (uphill especially). It feels like a misfire, but transmission shop says I need a rebuild. No trouble codes, no other issues. How can I verify what the problem is with out pulling the transmission?

Tino why is there a clicking sound when the toms bump up? And I did not see the mileage

questioning3 195k miles. I'm not sure why they clicking is so obvious in the video. But it happens when the vehicle stumbles with the rpm. It could be ancillary noise in the vehicle from the stumble. Any ideas? If it needs a rebuild so be it, just want to make sure thats the problem.

I put air to the (left in video)port for the upper pack with no leaks, I get a air leak from inside the shaft tube and that (left) port for the upper pack when I put air to the (right) port for the lower pack. I put original rings back in, still leaks the same. Both packs move the same as in this video. Any idea what’s wrong?

THIS IS YOUR TRANSMISSION it’s from level 10 transmission in Hamburg NJ. I did see scratch marks on the seals of both new and old seals. The drum seems to slide off/on ok, can’t see or feel any burrs/sharp edges.

THIS IS YOUR TRANSMISSION level 10 is the name. It’s from a transmission performance shop, I guess they put their own kits together from assorted suppliers. Would you recommend a supplier for these seals? Is there another part possibly defective that gives the same air leak-thanks for the help!

You did not change the orings underneath those rings you just installed or did not install the rings properly, because they are cut in a way that they can only go on one way and don't install incorrectly or you have that problem you are showing. Just saying.

I sent the rings that were not sealing to ATSG. They called me back and said that they could not get them to seal. The best rings to use is from Transtec at the moment.

The drum behind the pump likes to crack. Best to change it. The torque converter likes to make metal. Change it.
