Great video, gonna tear down mine tomorrow or actually Saturday.. quick question. On my 07 Acadia. Wife says, she was driving it, she was driving on the freeway in the morning (drive off fine, left the house fine) then all of a sudden it didn't want to go. She stepped on the an the gas pedal the car wouldn't move. It would just rev up. I know in the past she would tell me the that the car wouldn't make a grinding sounds and she could feel the car slow down when it did it. But when I test drove it it wouldn't do it for me...so I'm gonna check the check engine light that it has tomorrow and see what it shows up... Any idea what it could be?

Hiram, Good Video What about omitting the wavy or adding an extra steel about the same thickness? I know it would firm up the shifts and may make them to harsh but could be a solution what you think? Brad

What is the common cause no movement forward or reverse? going to remove trans and disassemble but not seeing where wave plate causes entire no movement

I have a 2002 town and country minivan has a hard downshift from 3-2 sometimes up shifting but not really. What should I look for? I changed the fluid and filter. Not check engine light.

Is the I drive piston In the valve body or is it more internal then that. ?

Updated wavy plate or put another one in there and wait for it to fail again?

i work in a GM dealership bin seeing this for a few years now, the updated plate doesnt fail, or at least i've never seen it, i work 2 bays over from the transmission techs and love to see broken stuff they show me everytime . i've seen a customer push it so far that drum was cut in half and REALLY fucked shit up, was awsome...

Ya I am master gm tech. The updated wave plate is a harder shot penned design. And I've never had them fail. And gm wants them rebuilt because new ones do not come with updated wave plate.

Tnx but this car always overhear leak water then check leak coming from heater fan.it's comes ok..possible that fluid oil burn no vicinity..light white color oil..,so fast i change oil will check what's result..tnx..,

How do I remove the wiring harness retainer from the control valve body stud and disconnect the control valve body TCM electrical connector?

It's the identical to a ford 6f50

Not quite, but close. They use different frictions and clutch plates for some of the clutches as well as a completely different valve body and TCM. The case halves are also different and not interchangeable. The initial design for both the 6T70 and 6F50 were designed cooperatively by GM and Ford, but then they took the design and changed it to meet their individual needs. They did the same with the 6T40 and 6F35.
