First of all prayers and blessings to all who are affected by this flood. I was flooded out myself in Scranton Pennsylvania in 1985. I lost a lot of personal items, keepsakes and many electronic devices worth thousands of dollars. But when it floods, you have two choices as a human. First choice’s, move to higher ground or far away. Second choice you must rebuild your building 5 feet above the current flood level, and that takes wisdom. So please use the wisdom that God helps you gain to rebuild smartly or to not rebuild at all. Especially in a time where people are crying about us, killing the planet just think of all the chemicals, insulation sheet rock paint, asphalt concrete, and other materials to get washed down stream eventually into the ocean. I wish you all better luck, Godspeed and a prosperous future if you use your wisdoms. ❤️✝️🇺🇸

I survived a flash flood when I was a little girl. My older brother was upstairs with my mother and his he was calling and crying for his puppy ' Duke ' and my Daddy had me by the hand waist deep at the bottom of the step and I saw ' Duke ' ( Solid red cocker spaniel ) trying to swim but the water was swirling out the front door. I broke away to get him ( being sucked out the door - but I had him. Daddy grabbed me up ( with Duke in my arms and scolded me saying ' Don't you EVER EVER let go of my hand. We made it upstairs and out the back window at the knoll hill of our back yard. But

That's a lot of cleaning up to do. A lot of people will need new cars, though I noticed only one car parked in downtown streets ( a bunch in a flooded parking lot ).

that is going to be a VERY expensive clean up! i bet only like 2% of the people in vermont have flood insurance too. when i got flooded in PA 5 years ago the insurance company boned me because i didnt have flood insurance.. even though i was not in a 100 year flood plain or anything (why get flood insurance in a place that never floods?).

Was thinking just today that there’s really no refuge from the effects of humans not paying attention: if it’s not unbearable heat, it will be forest fires, flooding, landslides…just depends on the location. We’re in this together, sink or swim. Earth adapts.

Conspiracy theory much? What makes you think people were not warned? People WERE warned, repeatedly and on just about every news outlet. Radio and TV stations were broadcasting messages on the Emergency Broadcast System. Internet weather apps were issuing alerts in advance. You had to be living under a rock not to know this was coming.
