No. It is, in my experience, about the same as a holy priest who has the time to throw out some Smites and Holy Fires every now and again - except, holy priests aren't spending much mana for that dps, whereas casting Smite as disc, at least right now, is generally a bad idea. I love what they tried with disc, but at this point it just feels like they're slapping bandaids on the spec until 8.0 where they can revert them to some sort of MoP/WoD state (which is still fine by me - I loved being an absorption healer almost as much as other healers hated me).

Love the videos! but I feel you did not cover all Resto Druid nerfs. Legendary shoulders were one of the reasons why druids were so OP in healing meters, the synergy with the tier 19 4-set really helped with that. The new tier 20 is never going to be better than tier 19 (with shoulders) and along with all of the nerfs, I see that resto is going to be brought in line with everyone else. Keep up the good work!

I cannot believe the sheer volume of things you got wrong when discussing monk. Monks aren't going to be "tank and cleave" healers, we're still raid healers. You still want prydaz and velens over boots, and until you're swimming in mythic loot, Shelter and LotBF will both be better than boots. You also said you were worried about the "filler spells" then proceeded to list 100% of our toolkit that isn't talents. Spoiler fam, EvM, and Vivify aren't filler spells lol. You seem to think that the whole class is just "Hit EF until you're oom". We don't have new options for tank healing, all of our tank healing spells are exactly the same. Citation needed. I don't see a single monk affirming what you've said. In fact the very first comment relating to monk after mine is "Mistweaver is not gonna be a tank healer..." Also what I've said isn't my opinion - its the result of the best monk players and theorycrafters pouring hours into the spec to find the optimal way to play the class. It's interesting though that you'd just assume you thought what I was saying was opinion though. Speaks to the level of research done before making this video. And yes, the term "toolkit" is better thank you. Saying EvM is a filler spell may not seem like a big mistake, but actually using EvM to fill GCDs is a great way to oom yourself while overhealing for like 60-80%

is your definition of filler just "spells without a CD" for healers then? in most healers cases thats a lot of spells then.at least personally I don't consider something thats super situational (enveloping mist) as filler. even though it doesnt have a CD. and idk... im with dhobbs, boots are actually becoming worse than they currently are as we are losing out on 33% of our uplifting trance procs. while the boots are becoming 13.4% better due to vivify's 2 healing buffs, theyre also going to have their affect used 33% less often. so I see them being worse. I also see 0 reason we're going to be tank healers. effuse is super efficient. but why have someone actively tank healing when tanks just take smal lchip damage constantly, when you can have 2 classes that passively heal the tank through any chip and use a short CD to heal them to full if they ever take anything more than chip.

Dhobbs I guess if for some reason you had to tank heal, you'd want to keep the EM HOT up 100% of the time on the tanks unless one doesn't take damage when swapping out. It sort of is like a filler in that sense. Though a paladin, shaman, or even a holy priest would be better at sustained tank healing. Honest question. Why is pyrdaz better then the legendary boots? I can understand for velens, but why Pyrdaz?

xenoblad even if you are tank healing you don't want to keep 100% evm uptime. you can't stop the overheal at that point and it'll ruin you mana. As for the legendaries, Prydaz is just more HPS than boots.

Yeah theyre pretty sweet, but it's a partial raw healing increase, in that the holy words cost more than their respective cooldown reducing spells. So it's gonna be more draining with t20. Holy healing mobility is still garbage, I really hope they do something about it, our raw healing is fine as it is now, I would rahter a utility buff than a healing buff.

It will actually have the opposite effect. Instead of healing the same damage with one hword and PoHs, you'll have two Sancts and less pohs. Sanct does far more healing for the mana cost and gives Divinity, buffing your other healing. Serenity for example does almost 4x more healing than FH with a slightly higher cost, like 10-15% more I believe. So instead of casting 4 FHs to heal a target, you'll have a Serenity at the ready saving you mana and increasing your overall healing and increasing your divinity uptime. It is a huge buff across the board and synergizes with so many different parts of our kit.

Yeah, Serenity is even more mana efficient than Heal. 2000% SP for 4% mana vs 500% for 1.7%. And that's just the raw stuff. Add increased crit chance increased all healing etc, and it really start pulling ahead.

I agree that in a setting like M+, this will be the case. But in a raid with other healers around, you generally only use 1-2 FHs before the other healers finish topping up said person. The 4pc is huge, I think think it might be viable to still run t19 2pc. But when compared to the 4pc of other healers, they gain plain raw healing without having to expend more mana. Our gain in healing from it comes with having to use more expensive spells. Like I said in the original reply, I think the t20 4pc is going to be a huge improvement from our current tier, but it isn't as overpowered as people believe it to be. If I didn't have finals coming up, I'd actually like to math it out and the avg frequency improvement in casts of serenity and sanc per min, in different types of fights. One thing is for sure, Hpriest will be sniping a lot more heals since HWs are instant so theyll def look a lot better on the meters.

At the moment druid is the strongest whether they have BiS legendaries or not, which is why I don't mention them in the vid because it over - complicates a message. Yes, obviously those leggos now are great, but they are NOT why druid is currently so powerful - the fact is their HoTs style is just always going to be very meter-friendly in raid.

I liked the video, though I don't necessarily agree with everything you said. Reality is that every healing spec has a niche that they cater to. For restoration druids that niche is constant, raid/group-wide healing. Which they are incredible at. They are, however, pretty crap at burst healing, whether it be raid wide or single target. Their niche places them at the top of healing meters, but honestly, a holy paladin beats them in usefulness, with their incredible tank healing. I am, however, looking forward to trying out the resto druid 4-set bonus when (if) I get it!

#RIPDisc 2004-2017 Sad part: They try to improve the class but they end up trashing it, when 7.2.5 goes live, they'll start applying band-aid fixes for disc priest like flat spell bonuses to try to make it playable. But the class that was supposed to be a PREVENTIVE healer they adding REACTIVE healing to them, where we all know that if disc can't be preventive healer, it can't be anything as it sucks at DPSing (fat nerf to DPS on 7.1.5, band-aid fix on 7.2.5, still useless as DPS) and it sux at reactive healing since it can only heal targets that has attonemets, its like asking a resto druid to only heal ppl after using wild growth, the outcome of that would be -60% HPS. The HUGE NERF on PW:R reduced the avg attonement per fight from 14~16 to 9~11 at best which is a flat HPS loss, so unless you make a raiding group around a disc priest, they'll be useless for serious raiding and Heavily dependant on BiS Legendaries which we all know sephuz, prydaz and the shitty bracer are always going to be your first leg loot making you mad since you kinda need to acquire 8 legendaries to get your first BiS one. Where every other healer can EASILY, did I say EASILY? Well, every other healer can EASILY fkin EASILY pull 3x more HPS than any disc priest with nearly 1/4 of the effort. I wouldn't call the class "LOSER in 7.2.5" I call it "DEAD in 20017"

I main a Disc, and I certainly wouldn't say we're losers in 7.2.5. I find a big Light's Wrath burst much easier to setup now than before, smart healing Radiance turning overheal into effective healing, freedom to cast plea at will, and much, MUCH higher rankings (top healer in mythic and top 3 in other difficulties). It's still the most difficult healer to play, but I find it fun and powerful while also being more forgiving.

This"option" that you've mentioned of tank healing is rather extremely weak and pretty mana inefficient, definitely no better then hpally/hpriest and dare I say even resto shamans. 1. Reactionary healing is very bad, so you would preferably pre cast em but that will most likely result in at least 30% overheating every time, casting it as the damage has already happened is pretty much worthless as it will take way too long to rack up. yes you could be vif/efuse spamming, but youll have a hard time keeping a tank up like that and might as well say goodbye to mana now. 2. you make it seem like all we do in raids is ef spam, which is a very uninformed"stereotype" typically coming from people who have little knowledge of this spec. 3. You've mentioned boots is the legendary youd want, however that's also false information. Right now, boots are decent, slightly ahead of chest/bracers although prydaz/velens combo is currently the bis combo and will be so in tomb as well, and here is why; We will be eventually loosing 33% on the proc chance of uplifting trance which is provided by the 2 set, which makes the procs significantly more rare in tomb, as to now. Yes, vivify is getting a nice % buff, however it is not enough to make up for the lower proc chance. Just thought Id address some of the points you've said and did not agree with, other then that the video seemed fine. Sorry for the English, it is my second language.

a bit of an odd opinion, but I sincerely wish they'd further tweak Disc Priest more towards what inspired it to begin with; Chloromancer from Rift. Essentially the best way to "attune it" more towards that would be to implement the"Tank Buff" and "Raid Buff" whereas the tankbuff gets put on a target (can't be yourself) if you want to single-target heal, and the raidbuff is put on yourself if you want to AOE heal (you can't have both up at once, and swapping them has a shared cooldown). Disc is so close to being the most fun healing spec ever made, so if they just changed it to that function (and made the spell effects a bit more "drain and nature" looking) then WoW would finally have the most fun spec in it as well! :D Changing over to a system like this instead of Atonement would make the class easier, yes, but it'd also be a lot more fun! I know I know, silly of me to wish for such a thing :(

As a discipline priest main, the only problem I'm having is the time between putting atonements and dealing enough damage to burst heal. Penitents heal is still useless. It feels weaker , if they wanted disc to go back to its roots, they need to fix disciplines shield, and penance also. Is it me or does it feel like holy does more damage than discipline?! Discipline doesn't have a damage rotation at all!
