Its mostly the T20 set. It's complete trash. 2p- 20% increased damage (was originally 100%, then nerfed to 75%, now down to 20%) on Flame shock and 100% crit rate BUT ONLY when we have fire elemental out. 4P-Reduces the CD on fire elemental by 2 seconds when flame shock crits. BUT that effect can only happen once every second. Getting punished for Double dotting on bosses that call for it is garbage, as its a key part of 2 target cleave. Can't get the CD reduction from both flame shocks ticking. Some have theorized that even with the nerf to T19, it won't be enough to make T20 better. But we'll have to wait and see

Ele Shaman player here, you missed the most important change for us, being that earthquake will no longer be affected by haste(and shitty tier). Good video though, I enjoy these! For Affliction I think if you do the math the overall 15%+ dmg increase almost makes up for the malefic grasp nerf, so not too bad for them.

One thing to mention about BM Hunters: The legendary shoulders gave 2 charges to dire beast/frenzy and they were pretty much mandatory to make BM viable. Now, that 2 charges are baseline, BM is less dependent on this lego.

On the Arcane Mage part- Presence of mind makes your two next Arcane Blasts instant, it doesn't turn you invisible. Your thinking of Greater Invisibility, and why would Blizzard make a Tier set bonus about turning you invisible? Edit- Thank you for clearing that up

It WAS going to be Greater Invisibility, they then responded to our predictable outrage saying it would be changed and then they changed it to Presence of Mind...then nerfed it to the ground :( The problem still isn't fixed though, Presence of Mind is a mobility cooldown, not a DPS cooldown, we are essentially weaker on movement heavy fights where we can't spam Arcane Explosion. Why they didn't pick Arcane Power or Mark of Aluneth I have no idea, Arcane is a DPS cooldown stacking spec and Presence of Mind won't be very stackable after the first round of cooldowns now.

Love Arcane Mages. The last time I played a Frost Mage full time was during BC. After that I tried Arcane and loved it. Never looked back. One of the changes I have liked about Arcane was Arcane Explosion is much nicer now, especially since the last patch change the annoying sound of it and the way it looks and feels, but also how it applies Erosion (I think that is what it is called) to everything. Arcane finally get a proper arcane AOE that works well, especially considering you have to be close to them to use it which goes against ranged to begin with, it had to be more powerful. It was tough levelling my mage 100-110 though, too many deaths, but once he was geared he came into his own and is fun to play again.

I accually disagee a on the destro warlock changes. I generally dont like how they take away burst dmg and make spells weaker in exchange for shorter cds. You cant really call it good balance if you just make the classes more and more a alike by synchronising their cd/casttimes/costs. We need dynamic balances with classes having different survivability/dmg/mobility output like in classic. When chaosbolt was introduced it was the most powerful singletarget spell ingame hitting for 40-50% max hp on a player of equal gear because it had a price (high cast time 3.5sec and build up). The buff to it in 7.2.5 is a drop on a hot stone its still WAY to weak. i would accually prefer if i could only launch 1 or 1.5 Chaosbolt with fully charged shards but have it hit for 2.5m+. I mean my arcane mage has only half the casttime and can launch multiple 4.4m critting arcane strikes back to back until mana runs out and its aoe is just as strong. I dont care what mythic raid guilds recommend for their needs as their shitty suggestions always tend to focus purely on performance for their dickcoparison campains rather then how fun the class accually is to play and keeping it true to their lore. They are basicly more and more crippling the potential for a class to stand out thru burst abilities, last seen with the demon hunter dd nerf. The same goes for cataclysm, its suppose to be a really dangerous aoe spell that you would be advised not to stand in when it erupts. Its not suppose to be a weak 0815 spell like a single arcane explosion but a all or nothing spell that has a long cd, but when used wisely gets a huge dmg benefit to your party. Warlocks spells are supposed to be slow but mighty at a high risk/cost compared to a mages faster, safer but weaker spells as the class lore intended it from the beginning.

I love the destro changes mechanically, but I seriously don't think it's going to be rocking any damage meters - like you said with ele, there aren't any cleave fights in tomb and it's single target isn't looking like it's ramped up enough. I fear affliction and it's mortifyingly boring rotation are what we'll be stuck with. I wish they'd just revert it back to WOTLK / Cata design.

Lots of misinformation here. Frost Mage did not have its spells increased by 15%. Blizzard removed the damage aura and buffed the spells to compensate. Its a net-zero damage change.

7.2.5 isnt just about spells changes and new tier , there is that talent ring legendary and a new legendary for every spec too. Dont forget that blizzard balance spec with leggendaries too.

Honestly... I've never had a problem with my dps as a Fire Mage. The only time Fire actually sucked, in my opinion, was after the big nerf during BC and then throughout all of Wrath, Cata, Mists, and WoD... I switched to Arcane and was Arcane until Legion came out because they buffed it back up again. I was always doing considerably more dps as Arcane than I was as Fire. I tried Fire throughout that time on quite a few occasions, but to no avail. Legion is the only time since Pre-nerf BC days that I've actually had both fun AND meaningful dps as Fire. I don't do high-end raiding, but I've never had a problem out-dpsing both Arcane and Frost Mages in the raids that I do. Perhaps it's only noticeable at high-end? Idk... I can dps just fine, though, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. lol

Those buffs to mages are actually all just aura adjustments from 7.2 being incorporated into the spells so no actual number changes are made. The being said because of t20 frost being so blatantly op, even after the heavy thermal void nerfs frost still ends up on top with both thermalvoid and glacial spike being within 10-20k dps of each other and more than 100k over arcane. At least right now, adjustments may be made before tos is released.

I think you might be underestimating Shadow 4pc, though Shadow's moment in the sun won't return as long as Blizzard keeps Surrender to Madness as a talent and basically limits the design space of Shadow. Shadow's mobility isn't quite that bad also, I would say the turret dps is Elemental Ascendance build for sure.

Just a friendly reminder, Frost Mage on high end will NOT be playing Icy Veins but Glacial Spike, which is stupid strong now. While there is uncertainty around Arcane, Frost will very likely still pull ahead.

Josh Patterson you are right, tv pulls 4k currently, given perfect sim conditions. that is just for one legendary combination though and a dps increase that is only really relevant if everything goes perfectly. technically speaking, however, you are correct. i like reading the discord too :) edit: it also requires t19 pieces and blizzard has shown repeatedly over the last ptr changes, that they don't like that at all. for sims only including t20 pieces gs pulls ahead.
