Nice upgrade. I recently changed my turbo pedestal due to it leaking. I replaced it with one from Napa but still had the EBPV setup. Having issues with boost and power loss now which sucks. I think I didn’t adjusted the actuator rod and I feel like I should’ve just deleted it.

On my 7.3, 21-22 lbs of boost worked really well on the stock 2000-2002 injectors IMO.

Great video! I noticed you have some different headlights on your excursion, can you tell me what brand they are and if you like the light beam? I got some off of ebay and their terrible

These are Nilight brand off Amazon around $125. We also put a set in my sons truck in another video that he loves also. They look better and project the light better.

@@AutomedicGarage ONLY PUT THE LED'S IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHTS AND THE TURN SIGNALS.....DON'T PUT LED'S IN THE WARNING LIGHT SOCKETS.....(SEATBELT.....AIR BAGS.....HIGH BEAMS.....ETC.).....THE LED'S WILL LOOK LIKE THEY ARE ON AT NIGHT WHEN THEY ARE ACTUALLY OFF.....THEY PICKUP LOW VOLTAGE IN THE WIRES AND PARTIALLY ILLUMINATE.....ASK ME HOW I KNOW.....

Great video thanks for all the info. My question is once you get it all back together do you need to pull the crank sensor and turn it over a few times to get oil into the turbo before starting up?

@@charlesquick3656 no, even though it drained it’s not totally dry. When you install a new turbo you prefill it with a syringe.

When the EBPV leaks on the pedestal. Is there a way to reseal this on do you have to replace the pedestal to fix the problem?

@@Selenemuro20 it can be repaired but I can’t even tell you the last time I did repair one. Makes more sense to get rid of it.

They sell a rebuild kit but I keep getting told to just delete it. I didn’t want to and let me tell you I should’ve just deleted it. I’m going to be deleting mine soon

I might have missed this part .but what do you do with the actuator plug ? Do you just leave it or buy a plug?

I didn’t show on this one but my actual how to video for up pipes shows it. I just connect the 2 wires. Keeps the CEL off only sets a soft code in the PCM

That wheel really isn't similar at all to the OBS wheel. I love my ebpv valve, made up a plug and play relay harness with a nice shifter mounted switch. Wish I'd done it a long time ago

This is the ww2 the original ww is based off the OBS compressor wheel. Ebpv is pointless and switching it is a great way to burn up a turbo also that’s why all the old school “exhaust brakes” ruined a lot of turbos. Not to mention it can get stuck closed, partially open etc., also great place for another oil leak. I get rid of them and don’t look back.

If you disconnect the actuator rod to the EBPV does the butterfly valve default to stay open or closed? I assume closed and opens as the engine heats up? Thanks for posting!!!
