Thanks for the compliments! Over the next several months I should have quite a few more 7.3 videos coming out, I have a relative bringing me his to put about $3,000 worth of parts on (mainly just reliability/maintenance work). Plus I own 2 7.3 trucks myself, one that gets 40-50k miles a year put on it, so I'm usually pretty busy maintaining it. As long as the body isn't totally rotted out (like the one in this video) I'd say you got a good deal on yours. These trucks aren't getting any cheaper. I have zero regrets doing the ZF6 swap on my black truck. I just wish the trans didn't already have 300k on it, 3rd gear synchro has seen its better days...

Nothing a little spray foam insulation and body filler can't fix! Pretty sure my work truck has about as much of that as it does actual sheet metal... Sounds like you got a pretty decent deal. Yes, as long as the ZF6 came out of any 99 to 03 7.3 truck, it is a direct fit to any 99 to 03 7.3 truck. You can even put them in an OBS if you wanted since the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same, however, some other modifications may be needed though I believe due do the length of the trans. Maybe not though, I've never tried nor looked into it that deeply.
