Yeah you do see a lot of Chevy powered Mustangs but at my local track there’s a lot of SBF, Coyote, and BBF cars. Last big race that I went to there was more Fords than Chevy’s. Yeah first time I’d ever seen that. A lot of Coyotes. I’ve just have had better luck with Ford power. Especially the Cleveland platform. I’ve gotten lucky and have acquired bunches of Cleveland race parts over the years. For the power and durability (tune) you can’t beat them with the right combination.

I'm glad there are all sorts of classes to accommodate the various tuning offered by computer control. In the old days it was either Naturally Aspirated(NA), Mechanical Injection(MI) or Supercharging(Roots Blower) w/ or w/o MI. Today we can add turbo-charging, a variety of supercharging & nitrous. But to get the real story of an engines potential, you don't install an addon & call it great. It's disappointing that the engine wasn't left NA to find it's real potential, based in Stock (crate engine) trim or a Super Stock version(offered by Ford). From that, build what you want w/ whatever power adders you need.

@@martinkobert4321 well it depends, N/A stuff is super expensive on a Coyote, they’re also newer engines compared to the LS and their truck counterparts so yea it’s a bit pricier to make power, they are a bit more complex, and have a learning curve to them but they come from factory ready for 800whp. Coyotes follow a super simple formula of “add boost, fuel system and E85 and just roll.” Some people, myself included, like to see a Ford in a Ford or a Chevy in a Chevy, some people like you don’t. I also find it fascinating you don’t have to do heads, big cam, intake, stoker, etc etc. to a Coyote to make power, the engine is ready once it leaves the factory floor.

I don't understand the "crying laughing" emoji, as if you're enlightening or laughing at us. We full well know you can go 9s with a Coyote, but why not try to see what you can do with a different engine? We think it's cool to see how a 302 with fantastic 4V heads compares to a 445-cube engine with two-valve heads. It's all about learning and seeing what works best for your desires and your combination. A basic NA Godzilla will make 600 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque without a power adder. What a great car, love this combo. The only that sucks is that electric cars are starting to demoralize me when it comes to traditional gas engines. We're looking at a sick new body mustang with a Godzilla motor, 200 shot, and basically doing a wheel stand off the line......and it's pretty much running the same as a stock Tesla (granted it's the top of line Tesla). It's just sad to see where things are heading with cars in general, and eventually in racing too. Still though, love this car!
@revanevan
@revanevan 2 жыл бұрын
This is a package you can duplicate in a Foxbody for about $15,000-20K, and you're comparing it to a $140,000 Tesla. I just don't see the comparison. If you had $140,000 to build a car you can do a new GT500 and go 8s in the quarter at 150 mph and drive it every day (and you won't need to charge batteries).

@@revanevan '15-20k? Not likely . At least not a clean example done properly. Whatever though, the comment is more about the technology. There are plenty of performance cars on the market much more expensive than a Tesla that won't touch it in performance. Besides that, you're comparing potential built custom cars to a production vehicle you can go down to your local dealer and purchase. Plus this is merely the tip of the iceberg on what we're going to eventually see out of EV technology. You may not like it, hell I for sure don't like it, but that's the direction the automotive market is going and it's coming quicker that we think.
@revanevan

@@revanevan I'm completely with you man. Maybe you misconstrued what I initially wrote. When it comes right down to it, I'm always going to be a gas powered engine purist. I've built several Mustang/Camaro-Firebirds over the years, and enjoyed every one of them. The Mustang in this video is a very clean looking car, and it appears as if everything was done right with the car. My initial comment wasn't really about this car specifically. I was just saying that I find it a bit disheartening to see what EV vehicles are capable of, knowing that we're only going to see even better performance in the future, and at prices that will likely come down some as we inch closer to full adoption.

There is no need when you're using race gas. Water meth increases octane (on the cheap) and allows more timing advance, that's where the power comes from, not from the meth. So race gas allows the same thing and it's more consistent. Good question though. Thanks for watching our channel.

Ford has gotten so much less press over the 6.2 compared to the 7.3 Godzilla despite already boasting a plethora of truck based engines pushing 8s naturally aspirated. Try and find a stock 7.3 Godzilla Dyno graph online and you'll see what I mean. Now that the 7.3 is top trim truck engine boasting a ton of cubes, the 6.2L Boss engines are finding their way right out of peoples attention purely because of the lack of press. Now there are a plethora of these 379ci big blocks which offer both room to increase in displacement well over 7 liters, as well as headflow on par with rec port LS, or modern Hemis and they already have solid aftermarket and oem support with Fords racing using these engines drag racing, and baja off-roading endurance races. These are filling used car lots, junkyards, and you pull lots for a lot less $$$ than you'd think. Not trying to take anything from the 7.3, but the average power offered by the smaller 6.2 from 4500-6500 rpms is pretty comparable to the 7.3. Both engines in basically the same chassis respond with similar peak horsepower after tuning with torque being greater for the 7.3 by some 40-50ft/lbs. While significant for towing, the power below 4k rpms matters very little on a drag strip where you only see those low rpms when you launch. Its crazy you can snag a 6.2 from a wrecked f series for $1200 but cant find even a refurbished 7.3L for less than $6000. Still a heck of a time to be an automotive enthusiast with so many great offerings from Ford, Gm, and Chrysler.

My brother was offered a 70 Cuda with a Hemi for $3,000 what happened to those times 😂
@madmod
@madmod 2 жыл бұрын
@@02autogt This is not true. The 6.2 boasts a ton of aftermarket support and oem support from ported heads, camshafts, stroker kits offering forged internals, as well as short and long runner intake manifolds available from the factory. Stock 6.2L Sohc heads flow more on the exhaust port than stock 706 ls heads flow through the intake port. They can be ran on 2v computers and harnesses making it an easy swap into any Modular powered car. Stock for stock, the 6.2 produces about 20less rwhp than a 5.0 truck trim coyote and about 40 more ft/lbs of torque. The Raptor trim produces almost identical peak horsepower. There are several 6.2 powered Fox chassis in the 8s, and several of them Na. One of which is carbed.

This cool and all, but the problem is and I've been saying all along is the Coyote has been there and done that. What sound mental person will rip out a Coyote, spend almost 10k for a truck engine that will need rebuilt with better rods, pistons, cylinder heads, custom 1 off intake manifold to run low 9's? My Gen 3 10R80 car just went 9.4's and all I have is a Whipple, fore innovations return style fuel system, E85, headers, and I'm still on the stock axel backs tuned by Lund Racing. I did that in 1600DA and my 60ft was not the best at 1.61 - I have more in it and the engine is STOCK - stock rods, pistons, cams, heads, stock bolts, stock everything aside from boost and fuel. This engine is such a dumb trend, it's just meant for left over foxbody guys who dream of days if the X cam.
