Professor Marandi was being hugely diplomatic in castigating Turkey and Saudi in particular for their servile and hypocritical stance re Iran and Palestine. Speaking as an outsider, I still think the Professor is wrong in overestimating the concern these two countries have facing internal dissension - they hardly care about their populace, have prepared against them and ultimately will act in concert with those who can preserve their interests. Sadly, Iran is virtually alone in its defence of both itself and Palestine. Perhaps counter-intuitively this means Iran should actually be more pro-active and pre-emptive in its dealings with the US, Israel and the various regimes. As for Russia, like the more informed Professor, I think it best to say nothing at all.
