John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. (I love you too, not as much as God loves you but I do love you)❤🙏 Just close your eyes and say “Jesus, I don’t have faith in you, please help me believe” Jesus loves you, turn to Him. He loves you so much that He died for you. ❤

Your enthusiasm is encouraging to me! Your point about those that ignore the saints is so true for a few "Catholics that would never miss a Mass" that I have encountered as well. I read part of the book you mentioned about St. Therese and the priest. It really hit me that he died of melaria and everyone thought he was just strange.

The really beautiful thing about Mark Twain's book Joan of Arc is that you don't get any of Twain's voice with sarcasm or doubt about God that Twain had in his personal life.

i almost dropped off my chair a few times: 5:28!!!😅😂🤣😂. St. Antony of Padua is my favorite story...yeah, yeah, I'm biased. But I read about him because I was researching which saint to be named after Confirmation. But the book that was like lightening was Julian of Norwich. Thank you for the books, Fr. Columba. Adding a few on my list.

One of the things that helped me a lot on my way to belief was that I befriended a friar-priest who worked as our padre. I helped him out being his driver as he visited priests and bishops around Lithuania. When we were there I saw a big painting that looked like one of the classic corny holy cards... It was in Vilnius and it was in a passage between two church buildings so you could see it from outside. It gave me chills. Today you taught me, father Columba, that this painting was based on the visions of an important church mystic, st Faustina Kowalska. And I feel warmth. Thank you far all you do for us, father. I've been away from this channel for a while -Life happened...- but I notice that your beard is taking on impressive dimensions!

Thanks❤, will have a look at it! I'm not a Catholic, but The Ascent of Mount Carmel did restore me to sanity some years ago. I was having predictive dreams and stuff and I didn't know how to handle it. This can run you a bit nuts when you're without St. John of the Cross.

Two books that changed my life, and not for the better... 1. "Imitation of Christ" Thomas Kempis 2. "Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence" (by a couple of priests) First book made me really look at myself and not like myself anymore. I loaned this book to 3 other people; my sister, who read and chapter and said "NOPE! Get that book away from me!" (She's extremely prideful and narcissistic) -- two others read it, returned it, and seemed too afraid to comment on it. Never a "yay" or "nay" about it... The Second book made me look at God and realize He truly holds grudges against some people and allows bad things to happen to good people...really bad things that is. Every thing that happens in life is ordained by God. EVERYTHING!!! Sometimes It's unfair. Made me realize, God is also unfair. The entire world is unfair! God's creation, unfair!! Jesus said "On Earth as it is in Heaven."... Is it "unfair" in Heaven as well? Just makes me wonder why such unfairness has to exist in life, and I'm the next... The book that I feel helped me to convert to the true Church Christ Himself established was "The Life of Mary" by one of those mystics. It made me realize just how special Mary is and how much God cherishes Her. She's truly an ethereal mystical mystery.

Sometimes it is intended that great suffering is experienced for a person to become more like a Saint.. ..still in Love with God through the trial, fixed firmly on eternity ,in hopeful bliss with Our Lord and Mother in Heaven.
