I think there's a general bias against receivers in the 1970's. Drew Pearson was All-Decade yet not in the hall of fame, and both Stallworth and Swann had to wait quite awhile before they were inducted. But yes, Branch should be in.

Matt Coffey Branch played 5 more seasons than Swann. Of course his numbers are greater. That doesn't make Swann less of a HOF'er (Branch should be there as well along with Lester Hayes and Todd Christensen (R. I. P).

Cliff was so much more than just the fastest player- he would jump over guys, wrestle the ball away from guys, cut back inside to snag an underthrown pass, escape tacklers, cut & weave to find the open prairie, and fly across the field to make a clutch block. Dangerous on the reverse, great hands, durable, tireless. A genuine treasure.

The reason I believe he hasn't gotten in the HOF can be summed up in 2 words: Tex Schramm. The dude hated the Raiders and Al Davis and was essentially the man behind the man of Pete Rozelle. If more Raiders and other snubbed players got into the HOF when he was alive he would have thrown a fit. i believe much of that misplaced hate from Schramm still echoes into today.

Although am no Raider fan, w/out a question #21/Cliff Branch should be in NFL HOF. If Biletnikoff is HOF, Branch should be included also! He took the baton from Biletnikoff &, Literally...Ran w/it! FYI... Branch nephew Darrick played Hawaii football..1988-91 but didn't get to play on Sundays

I agree that Cliff Branch should be in the Hall of Fame but to shortchange Lynn Swann is an absolute disgrace. Swann only played 9 seasons, 4 in a 14 game schedule, 4 in a 16 game schedule, and his final season was the strike shortened 9 game 1982 season. Branch should have better numbers than Swann considering he played 5 more seasons. Branch's own teammates said he couldn't catch when he first started with the Raiders. There's never been any questions about Swann's hands. Branch was strictly a fly pattern receiver and trust me he was great but Lynn Swann was and still is the greatest big game receiver I've ever seen. People trying to belittle Swann's HOF credentials obviously are as clueless as Stacey Dash. SMFH!

WHY IS BRANCH NOT IN THE HALL OF FAME?!?! Cry baby ass Drew Pearson cried his way into the finalists for 2021. Pearson's stats pale in comparison to Branch's. How is Pearson going to get in before Branch? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
