That was a special spot with the wolf, truly magical. Reminded me of some of my own November trips that had surprisingly good conditions, such peace and tranquility at that time of year. That is the winter weight sleep pad right? Did you fix it further or did Amok replace it for you?

Ah perfect, a new video. I will make some food, get my robe, a 24 year old whisky and light a candle. Chill at 1am to watch this adventure for an hour. Just to relax before having a nice nap before having to get up early. The zen I need! So thank you for your videos. It makes a depression day end with cozy comfy '0 f given' relaxed state. I am rambling, because I'm tired. Let's sip, snack and watch.

We just finished watching your latest video. It is a GREAT photographic journey and well narrated. The eagle dropping it's catch and the wolf sighting was quite a payoff. My son and I while snowshoeing in northern MN in 2006...sighted two wolves and we all stopped and sized up one another before they ran off into the woods. It was truly a fortunate moment and I recall saying how we might never experience that again...and we haven't. We always enjoy your videos as well as those of both you and Xander. So WELL DONE. Thanks for sharing.

Your moose hunt demonstrates a principal I’ve found to be true throughout my 71 years: The harder I push to make something happen the less likely it is. Stop pushing, relax, and there it is! The scenery on this trip was great. I can’t believe you caught the eagle that shamelessly assaulted you with a pike. And don’t you think for a minute that was an accident. If you had been a predator, would you have captured the eagle or been distracted by the pike? Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for another memorable trip. I had a great time. Your films just keep getting better. Sincerely, Dave Purkerson.

Jon! You honored your Natural Intuitions following the inner drives to reach for what you were truly put on this Earth to do. Thank you for being your True Self, and for having the generosity to share with US - truly reliant Earthlings. I grew up spending much time out in Nature, and it is where I feel my best. The "City Life" or working in offices, takes care of the bills. Most of my free relaxing time I spend with Lost Lakes, lately. Jupiter my cat is obsessed. hehe. Now, every time I cross the Colorado River, and all the creek bridges on the way in, I not only dream of how I would love to be on the water again, I am planning. Thank you for reminding US that care for this Great Outdoors, that it is still or could be, just a well planned journey away. If not, we continue to journey here to Lost Lakes, to see the most incredible views and wild life encounters, delish fixins, and rather amuziing adlib extra content. I have been rolling thru your videos - Congratulations on a Beautiful Wedding. Sending Best to you and Erin 🌎

I would love to see how you choose to store your food from the bears. As a child I grew up back country camping but the adults always took care of taking the barrels away from camp and storing them up in the trees. So I would love it if you would teach us a little about the safety and process involved in using the barrels and where you select to tie it up away from the bears and such. Your videos really inspire me to get back into these types of trips as they were the highlights of my year during my adolescence! And I love your storytelling and humour !
@LostLakes
@LostLakes Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Hannah! 💚 I don't hang here in northern Ontario because hanging limbs are very hard (almost impossible) to find in the boreal forest and even the two-tree method is very difficult to pull off here. Thankfully bears are also very wild up here and rarely habituated to human presence so they generally wouldn't associate a human camping with a food source (a human camping is more likely to scare them off). There are no guarantees though and minimizing scents that would attract a bear in the first place is important. But in a busier park and/or where suitable horizonal branches exist where there are more hardwoods, it's definitely important to hang

Day 6, the paddle, the campsite and the view ... WOW! Just speechless at it's beauty. And then to see a Wolf during breakfast. I thought the fish drop was going to be my favorite moment (altough it was epic) Day 6 was perfect. I disagree with you about this trip not being thrilling. These kind of trips are what I'd die for, an Eagle sharing it's meal with you, catching the odd fish, breathtaking scenery, a Wolf encounter and the inner peace all of that brings .. to me, those are the most thrilling trips of all. Thank you for sharing this one.

Enjoyed watching you discover the wilderness and experience it with appreciation. Being able to check out a new area without having to rush and choosing to stay, even with a deflating mattress, seems like the perfect way to travel through a trip. It is a thrill to be able to observe this and thank you for sharing with us. You have a gift for showing us your adventures in a breathtaking and real way. Look forward to your videos each week 🙂

Jon, thank you for this beautiful experience. From start to finish this was excellent. Beautiful wilderness scenery. Peaceful and relaxing trip. The wolf encounter was something I would prefer to avoid! I’m glad you’re not a hunter. Me either. Regards, Greg / CT USA

The shots in day 5 were breathtaking, I actually had tears in my eyes, water and sky melting into one. Earth is both hell and heaven, and that moment really looked closest that I would Imagine heaven to be.

The slow motion canoe at the beginning set the tone. Starting at the 33 minute mark, the views and music were incredible, very inspiring. This just might be your best yet Jon.

Hi Jon, I've been watching your videos for about a year now, but this is the first time I have left a comment. I've been a bush pilot and guide in Alaska for many years. I quit hunting a long time ago, but I really love watching Dall sheep, grizzly bears, mountain goats, and moose in their natural habitat. When I see you drinking in natural beauty, I totally get it. Your videos are very relaxing and motivating. Keep up the good work, and I know it is work, but enjoyable (most of the time). 🙂

@@LostLakes Jon, When you have time, check out the video I posted of takeoffs and landings. These are the places I go hiking and they are all within about 20 minutes (by air) from Palmer, Alaska where I live.

my my sooo many comments already !!! so if you happen to read this - WOW !! you are a fortunate man with all that happens around you on this trip and you seem so genuinely at peace and excited all at the same time - the way you bring this to life and let us share in your experience is like a gift to all of us. I can only say thank you and support a garlic bread or two once and while and hope that site foreman Jontario continues to bless you with his wise council. 😆

Musicalisation (you know what I mean!) was awesome on this. Almost death by Pike!!! LOLLLL Sinking heart feeling when your pad deflates, crucial piece of kit. Felt like a very spiritual trip, with the wolf encounter to top it all off - absolutely beautiful.
