My husband and I have canoed almost 50 years but I had never heard of Wabakimi until I saw several of my favourite you tubers do trips there. Wonderful scenery, with portages for the young and strong. I can do kayaking day trips but at my age , arthritis and osteoporosis, I do not think I can do a long camping trip now. I just want to say. Don't wait to live your dreams.

The cinematography on these videos just amazes me, and it only seems to keep getting better. It’s so hard to truly capture the beauty of these places, and seeing it on video will never capture it the way you experience it in person, but your videos get as close as any I’ve seen.

Your videos are medicine for me. I like to keep a Lost Lakes video as an open tab for a week at a time and watch a portion each day, spreading it out a bit. A little dose of peace and tranquility at whatever moment I most need it. I go camping as often as I can, but they're just short little two nighters in more saturated areas. One day I would love to do the kind of trips that you do.

Jon, Thankyou for this, breathing taking scenery, mouth watering recipes, sensational humour thrown in, and the fishing is AWESOMENESS. Erin & yourself have set in motion, for our family purchasing a canoe etc and going on some well prepared adventures. Our Lakes here in Victoria, Australia are pretty shit (just being honest lol), but it's what you make of it, and we shall make it amazing and shitless 😀, (our mozzies are zilch compared to over your way, so that's a plus 🤟🏾😜🤟🏾). We love your footage and greatly appreciate all that you do for us. God Bless 🙏🏾 and much ❤️ From Down Under 🇦🇺🦘.

I did this trip on the Kopka n 1985. Your video brings back many memories. The water falls haven't changed. We took the other vertical portage on the other side of the falls. Our group was 12 people so we had a lot of help. unfortunately we didn't have water proof cameras or cel phones to record our trip. I kept a daily journal which became a book years later. The best canoe trip ever.

We are under water restrictions as our grass turns brown and leaves fall off the trees. Seeing the lushness of the land, especially the wild flowers, and the rain was lovely. @@LostLakes ❤️ I can appreciate that. I know it’s not good for you. I’ve not seen you guys carrying Cutters or any sort of bug repellent. I see AB Camping carry thermacell. He activates it and then tucks it out of the way. I’m not familiar with it. For an open lake you may be able to put the thing towards the front of your canoe to help keep mosquitoes away. I’m former Air Force. We called the Alaskan mosquitoes B-52’s because they were really large. I imagine those you’re dealing with would be their Canadian cousins. 😉

Love how you made your portage look and feel like you were on the river on Day 8, cool videography. Your videos of total delight in unspoiled creation are one of the ways I am able to lower my heart rate and navigate life’s difficult circumstances which might otherwise trigger an anxiety button. Grateful for your commitment to being a non-consumer of this unspoiled beauty at least. I believe you leave your mark by not leaving a mark. And so all creation is blessed. The rush of the ledge after the walleye you spared from the pike’s natural selection is creation’s way of blessing you back.

I'm getting too old for spring/early summer trips strictly due to the amount of bugs. I think you may find this the case for yourself eventually, especially for longer outings. Would be hard to pass up such great fishing and the beautiful scenery though. Good on ya, Jontario!

Hahah I made a note for next year to spend June on Superior...bugs can still be bad of course but at least you don't have to portage in them! Thanks ET :)

I really enjoyed the flow at the beginning of this one, it was just quick enough without being choppy at all, so much fun to watch. Way to keep raising the bar.

Saturday morning and watching an unwatched video with breakfast and coffee while it's raining outside, fantastic start to the weekend

Wonderful adventure to watch in the evening after a long, hot work week (W-O-R-K - you remember ... one of those 4 letter words .... har har). Wonderful cadence during the entire 1 hour 45 minutes. Scenery and videography were stunning. What a place. Absolute thrill to watch. Correct me if I'm wrong, but mild insanity seems to have set in around day 7 (the poetry in the Park, the talk with "Wilson" ... aka your hat). I blame it on the heat and the bugs ... with some help from the Scotch. Thank you. Can't imagine it getting any better than this.

I can't say I recall this "work" you speak of... Hahaha day 7 seems to be a safe bet for that. Thanks so much cm61!

You have transformed on the rapids Jon, kneeling has given you stability and now that you have it you've really picked up the game on the white water. Another great trip, would personally like to do a trip in Wabikimi. It's an AMAZING place. Your videography and story telling skills are now second to none and you're even polishing the acting session lol.
