Hey Glock just a suggestion How about instead of completely maxed out, you do a series where you're maxed out in a specific tree or stats that correlate too and like play and have like some kinda background story for ur char and like what skills, blueprints, and stuff he starts with maybe he was an engineer and you spec him to start with high intelligent specs and you start the game with a ratchet and a junk turret, he's good at dismantling and mining and only use weapons you'd assume an engineer would like to use or maybe he was a retired Marine and you start off the game with a Dessert eagle with a generous but not ridiculous amount of ammo (maybe a full stack) and you spec him out to have high specs in cardio and not needing food/ brawling, etc.. i kinda like the ideas of your series where there is like some kinda set theme or story to go along with it like cabin in the woods where u start off in a specific POI and I think playing the game like this could add more to that kinda gameplay storytelling element
@DannyClayton934 жыл бұрын
Exactly this. I would love to see what type of scenarios could be played out (engineer, brawler, etc). Glock could also allow his audience to vote on what they'd like to see so at least we are somewhat accountable if the series is a bit lacklustre. Great suggestions by the way!

A fun game mode I was experimenting with was as follows. Created a quick custom map that only contains the parking garage POI (or any single poi you choose). On the top floor there are crates with basically infinite resources, and all the books. Game mode is as hard as you want, but you must set day length to the lowest value so days are very fast and hoard every night. You are allowed to take one crating recipe and one skill book after each completed hoard night. The only other thing to configure is the day you start on. If you start one day 1 then you will have basically no hoards at the start and thus no xp. You need to start it on day like 7+ for the game stage to be high enough for it to be challenging. This was the part I didn't dial-in. It starts off as a game knowledge puzzle as you craft and gets a base going. Then eventually it turns into a none stop onslaught as hoards get big enough that you can't kill them in time and spend the day fighting. Basically, can you get ammo production high enough that you can keep fighting forever before the hoards get too much. Friends and I had fun messing with this but never quite dialled in the settings. Increasing the XP gain is another parameter to mess with as it increases the rate the game stage increases but gives you access to more skill points.

Hey Glock9! How about a series called *"Saving Seller Rick"* Rules being: - Both the Main and Horde Base need to be at Rick's Outpost. - as it would be a "Saving Private Ryan" inspired series, you would only be allowed to use a knife and guns for killing (like a Soldier). - All resources you gather, need to be aqcuired from Rick's Quests or in the close vicinity if there are buildings around (as there's a lot of rubble laying around in war ridden cities, any stone debris could be taken, but no digging unless it's for buried treasure). - Difficulty is up to you but gun and knife skills for immersion would be acceptable. -you would start with a spawned military knife (hunting knife) and military uniform, a 9mm pistol and 100 rounds of 9mm rounds. All level 1. -Turrets are acceptable, but only if they shoot bullets. I think it would make for an interesting series, especially with the limitations on horde nights. I don't know how realistic the difficulty would be, but I doubt it's gonna be too long of a series without the possibility of an intricate horde base design.

I feel like with the addition of Demolishers the best way to deal with the horde is the run and gun method. They have taken away most of the fun that horde has building use to have for me. As for this series I really enjoyed it. It takes so long for a series to get to end game and having to deal with Demolishers that I rarely get to see it. Most people abandon a series before they ever get high enough these days. I'll be sad to see this one go but I completely understand why you have decided to end it. Being a super soldier is awesome but only for so long. I've enjoyed the series and am really glad you decided to do it.
@samsilva-cairns87994 жыл бұрын
Horde every 14 days but you gotta stay in the base. You choose a building like when you do flipper and you cannot build outsider the perimter of the house but you can go as tall or below ground as you want but if you leave the footprint of the house on horde night you fail. Abit like when you do a job for Rick :) you have to stay in the area other wise it stops. This way you have to be creative with your base not just a catwalk. My favoruite ever of yours was when you did house on the hill and the zombies fell into the mine shaft underneath and you making the zombies run back and forward lifting up the blocks.
@heliongann23434 жыл бұрын
One possible compromise: Only level yourself up to around 50-70. Then grant yourself the perk points, without levels, to max out the rest of the skills. That will curb your game stage a bit, but still give you the maxed out perks. Oh, and just don't max out Pain Tolerance or Healing Factor. A couple points at most. They do make you very difficult to kill. I'm pretty sure you can console command skill points sans xp, and if you cant for some reason you can work around it by creative menuing in more copies of the "Starting" quest. Complete it for 4 skill points, rinse and repeat to desired skill points.
@DrZaius31414 жыл бұрын
On twist on this approach: Max out the skills for a single attribute and never skill anything on the other attributes. So the first challenge will be perception only, the seconde one strength only, etc. No cheesy tactics, adapt your play style according to the attribute (chosen weapons, mostly, but also do more quests with the intellect perks for example) and at the end of 5 series, we will know which attribute has the strongest skills. (Hint: INT > STR > FOR > AGI > PER). I'd put the first horde at night 5 and afterwards a horde every night, but the balancing should be up to you.

2:30 Concerning the sledgies pressing all the right buttons on demos to make them go boom: We're using a base of similar design, and the way to make it work is... having the sledgie on the other side. The button is on the right half of demo's body, if you hit on him from the left, he's unfazed. I don't know exactly if that is all it takes, I also used some half blocks to raise the catwalk so the sledgies break shins, not hearts. Anyway, just saying, in theory, the design stands. We just had a horde night. We're just GS of around 150 or so, and only on Nomad, but still, the concept holds, and no demo blew up.

Perhaps for the next Maxed Out, you choose a particular page of the skill tree (intellect, fortitude, etc) - and you cannot read books or eat candy that would give you perks outside of your page. Depending on which page you chose, you could also 'sliding scale' the first horde night; if you've gone strength or perception, it's going to be easier than, say, a fortitude or intellect build. Anyways, love your content!
@Gymn004 жыл бұрын
Hey Glock first and foremost, I love your content and thank you for your shining personality. Secondly, I believe a style of this game could work but, you'd have to tweak a few things like making a specialty type of build: Starting off with Maxed out Melee but nothing else. A Machine-Gunner, Wolverine, Robotics specialist. Its not so much that the mode is unplayable but rather the level-casing starts to rise exponentially after certain thresholds. Maintaining a decent level-case without going over the threshold before you're ready can probably work very well.

Agreed, time to move on. It was a fun experiment and the horde night at first was pretty entertaining. What about that suggestion a commenter made about a medieval series using only certain items? I really loved that idea. Your base could be a castle that you made instead of taking over a poi, unless of course you convert a poi into a castle I suppose.
@alanwatson22874 жыл бұрын
Yo Glock, you had the right idea but if you're interested I thought of twist that may make a series like this viable for longer. Start with all skill sets with a set number of points, example 5-8 points across the board in Strength, Fortitude, and all the other ones as well, but no unlocking any actual skills in the categories. That way when you level up you can actually build around a play style of your choice and if you want the more end game perks then you really gotta save up but at the start you would probably want to play normal difficulty normal settings because you won't have that lucky looter effect off the bat like you did in this series unless you choose to invest your first 4 tutorial skill points, which would be your choice. I was just getting my mind right while watching and had to throw in my two cents, even if it doesn't make sense haha. Keep cracking heads and slinging cornmeal.

I don't know if you are familiar with a mapping tool for 7dtd called Nitrogen, but you can tweak a lot more for those maps than you can with vanilla random gen in the base game. *Much* faster at it too. I mention it because I think you have kind of exhausted the options availble for tweaking in the base game, and this allows you to keep trying out new combinations by manipulating the map big time. You can have no cities at all, a megacity and nothing else, total wasteland/snowbiome/desert map. Limit traders or even have no traders at all, more rivers, mountains, you name it. I know you hate the wasteland but what about a small map with nothing but urban area, all in the Wasteland? Call it the 'New Jersey Special' or something like that. No fresh meat to hunt so food is finally going te be a little bit of a challenge to have reliably, freaking dogs everywhere, and the gamestage is higher than your level by a bit allowing you to loot better but also face more dangerous zombies earlier on. What do you think? You might even have to resort to 'shamming' zombie dogs to survive.

It was interesting to see what you get in the end-game zombies with the Level 200 maxed-out horde. Noting that you're playing it on Day 5, so to have it completely maxed out, you'd want to play it on Day 200 instead. I did expect that the horde would be so damaging that it would smash up the POI quicker than you'd be able to kill them. I don't usually end up playing to end-game myself, because I find the journey to end-game is much too grindy. (For me, the game shouldn't be about sitting in a mine all day digging for resources.) I usually play the first few weeks of the game, looting, scavenging, taking on POIs and being very efficient in my actions and perk choices. During the first few weeks of play, I make the game hard for myself by doing things like upping the difficulty, reducing the loot abundance, speeding up the day-time zombies, and playing in harder biomes. In my latest self-challenge, I am playing with stun baton as my primary melee weapon in the wasteland biome, with fast zombies and warrior difficulty.

It's always good to try new things, and experiment, and you've made it entertaining the whole way. Keep at it man, even if things don't always go the way you hoped.
