Hi Jill! New subscriber here & I love your videos. I think I am going to try the meatball subs tonight. I have an idea for you to use for a pork chop recipe. But I do mine in the oven and don't know how they would turn out in the Crock-Pot. Ingredients: •6-8 bone-in pork chops with about ¼ inch of fat left on •1 packet of onion soup mix •seasoned meat tenderizer (has to be the seasoned kind) Directions: 1. Wash chops under cool to lukewarm running water. This is to make sure there are no tiny pieces of bone left on the meat from when they were cut. 2. Place chops in a single layer in a 9×13 baking dish & give them a liberal dusting of seasoned meat tenderizer on one side only. 3. Open packet of onion soup mix & dump it on a paper plate. Or whatever disposable plate you have on hand. Grab a regular 'ol spoon out of the drawer & stir it up so it's not all clumped together. Now flip the chops over & on the other side put 1 spoon of mix on each chop. Now some people might try & just sprinkle it straight outta the pack thinking that it saves time, but ya never know how it's gonna come tumbling out. You might get all that spice on one pork chop! My way makes sure the spices & the onions are evenly distributed AND that you get the same amount on each chop. If you have some leftover mix on the plate you can go ahead & distribute that around, too, or you can throw it away. (I put it all on) That's it! Seasoned meat tenderizer on one side & onion soup mix on the other side. Easy! 4. Put them in a 350°F preheated oven for 45-50 min. I like to serve mine with cinnamon applesauce and either mashed potatoes or mac 'n cheese. Since these little chops pack a lot of flavor I think the starchiness of the potatoes helps to balance that out. Rice would be good, too. (I can't get my husband to eat much rice, though, he'd rather have potatoes). But he can't stand any fat on his meat so when I plate them up that's when I trim off the fat that I left on there in the beginning. I hope you try these & I hope you like them. And they won't be dry, I promise, 🙅

Tried the ribs so so good. On the rice dish I waited until the last 30 minutes of cooking time made sure it was on high. Rice came out perfect. The olive garden chicken was fantastic. I've made the Olive Garden chicken recipe before and I said the exact same thing your kiddos did.. I lovvvve Italian dressing, but the actual Olive Garden brand is so "strong" (almost too bitey).. I've heard the lite is more tolerable, but that's the one you used, so maybe not! Lol Going to try making it again in the future using another brand of Italian dressing. Loved your video, I am a huge fan of crock pot meals!! 😊

I would have never thought to do ribs in the crock pot. Great idea and yes adding the bbq sauce and broiling is key! This would be great for a cook out especially if it got rained out and your couldn’t cook outside in a BBQ. For the porch chips I agree to sear them first for extra flavor. It’s so good. Sorry your mushrooms went bad. I try and keep a can of mushrooms in my pantry for times like that. They are not the same as fresh but good in a pinch and you could pan fry them before adding to the crock pot!

These are some very delicious and great recipes that I'm definitely going to make. Next time wash and rinse the meat thoroughly before cooking. I use to work in the meat dept at a grocer and believe me I witnessed the meat get dropped on the floor and other things before it was packaged. We have to be careful especially with this covid19. I always wash and rinse my meat and soak in a little white vinegar and salt before cooking. 😃

Daaneve Wm for years now, the USDA has been strongly recommending that consumers DO NOT wash meat, especially chicken. I know everyone has had to have heard this buy now. I understand your experiences make you feel you’ve got to do it, and I won’t criticize that, people have washed their meat forever. However, her way of preparing is the one actually recommended by the experts who tack food borne illness and food safety, so no one should be criticizing her. Wash your hands, get food to the right temp are the biggies.
@deidrediane95944 жыл бұрын
@@TheMinot60 First off I never criticized her.... I only shared what I have experienced from working in a meat packing company from watching people drop meat on the floor, scratching themselves, wiping their face and nose and being that we are in a covid19 crisis I think it would be a great idea to rinse and wash your meat before cooking. It certainly wont hurt. Some people are not clean and have poor hygiene habits. You have your opinion and you can do whatever you want to do and I couldn't care less. I have been washing and rinsing my food for years and we haven't had any problems.

Recipe 2 - 3 pounds of pork loin 1 packet of ranch seasoning mix 1 packet of onion soup mix 1 stick of real unsalted butter 5 - 6 pepporchini's for flavor but isn't spicy Cook on low for 8 hours. My favorite crockpot meal is pulled pork. Literally 3 ingredients. Pork roast, Dr Pepper & Bbq Sauce. You put a pork in the pot pour 2 -3 cans of Dr Pepper or half a 2 liter to cover the meat and cook on low for 6-8 hours. I don’t add seasoning because the Dr Pepper gives it a lot of favor but you can season if you want. Drain the juice. Shred pork I use a hand held cake mixer with 1 beater. Add in bbq sauce! Serve on your favorite rolls I use Hawaiian. It’s the best! My dad will NOT eat pulled pork anywhere else. I use the juice to boil quartered potatoes. Great side to the pulled pork. Enjoy!

Hi Jill! These are terrific recipes. Some of my favorite crockpot recipes include a brisket. All you need is the brisket, one can of cranberry sauce (no whole berries) and one packet of onion soup mix. Pour the mix over the meat, dump the can of cranberry sauce over top and cook on low 6-8 or high 4-5. Low is best. Don’t even have to stir it. Just let the crockpot do the work. Also, I love to make sweet and sour meatballs! Use the same meatballs you just used for your subs (the frozen already made kind). Pour 1-2 jars Heinz chili sauce, and one jar of grape jelly. Cook on low 5-6 hours or high 3-4. I make rice and serve mine like that...or they are great on subs too! Enjoy and thanks for these great recipes today!!!

Have you ever considered getting an Instant Pot? One with a grill (broiler) attachment, or a Ninja Foodi? You could slow cook the meatloaf if you liked or pressure cook it, then you just change the lid and broil it. I don’t have to cook for anyone else, but I have two, a Foodi and a small instant pot so that I can make my own yogurt. Also, cooking rice in an instant pot is so fantastic brown rice takes 15 minutes (plus heating up time) 5 mins slow release and then a quick release (you’ll know what I’m going on about when/if you get one) then you have perfectly cooked rice! If you want to take a look at how they work, the Salted Pepper does Foodi cooking and Six Sister’s Stuff does Instant Pot cooking. I wouldn’t be without mine, either of them, but slow cooking in the Instant Pot isn’t good, it’s ok in the Foodi. I haven’t used my oven in nearly a year, and my stovetop in about 8 months, I use the Pots for everything!

It's been my experience that the longer you cook pork chops in liquid the better. If you can't even get them out of the crockpot bc they are shredding on their own then you know they are done and good.

Always rinse dry rice till water is not cloudy! This will eliminate mushy rice! I have learned the hard way!

Rice in a crockpot: don't use short grain, it gets sticky and mushy. Long grain is better but the best rice I've found for the crockpot is parboiled. It stays firm and doesn't get mushy, but you shouldn't leave it in the crockpot for longer than 2 to 3 hours. I make an awesome jambalaya in the crockpot that I use parboiled rice for and it comes out amazing and not mushy.

I tried the olive garden pasta and me and my husband didn't like it...I think it was the cream cheese that gave it a very strong flavor...so I know exactly what your kids mean...it was a very pungent flavor

Try a 6/7lb pork butt roast. In the crock pot bed add slices of a large onion and slices of 5 garlic cloves. To the roast just rub salt and pepper to taste. Drop roast on top of onions and garlic. DO NOT ADD WATER. Cover and cook for 6/7hours on low or until desired tenderness. Shred and add to slightly toasted burger buns with your favorite bbq sauce and pickles. You got yourself a delicious pulled pork sandwich. Do not add bbq sauce to the left over meat. You can make taquitos with the left over meat. Very delicious too. ENJOY!!! Note: make sure you slightly toast the burger buns with some butter. Toasted buns make a huge difference 🧈🥖🤤
