Daniel Smith Green Gold is a multipigment version of green gold. Daniel Smith Rich Green Gold is the typical one pigment mix that the other watercolor brands use for green gold.

Quin rose and helios purple (quin magenta ish) are so perfect for mixing purples with ultramarine blue. It was actually life changing for me and I adore them

Hi Michele! I love your videos. They have been invaluable in my increasing happiness painting with watercolor. When I saw this video, I was so happy that I personally had discovered all except your special petal shadow and already added them to my palette! Made me feel pretty good that I felt the same limitations till I discovered these other colors. I have ordered your special shadows palette and hope they arrive in Colorado, USA soon! Thanks for everything!

Even though I am still rubbish at painting flowers, I watch nearly all of your videos until the end and always learn something!. Due to your excellent information, teaching style and photography, I have never "abandoned" a video due to waning interest. They are rather like a good movie - one cannot wait for the next "scene". And I thought I was the only one who liked Davy's Gray, as it is much warmer and less harsh than other grays. Excellent for mammals. Denise Soden taught me that one can mix Cerulean Blue and Indian Red to make a nice soft gray. Since Indian Red has the consistency of housepaint, I am trying to use mine up and this is a great way. This also justified my previous purchase of Green Gold.

Indian Red (usually an oxide) is great for house bricks of course, and yes, makes interesting greys!

I always have problems with the greens on leaves, my goto colour is Indigo with various yellows but I will do some tests with the Phthalo blue. I use Van Gogh colours exclusively now and I like the Perm deep red which is perfect for pinks for me. I was taught never to use manufactured grey but to make a neutral grey tone from the colours in the palette. Its easy once you get the hang of the variations.

This was very instructive. I have a green gold in a set but it is a single pigment azo yellow. The Daniel Smith green gold looks like it could be more useful and it is a much richer color. Petal Shadow Violet also looks interesting but I'm wondering what shipping is to the United States . Daniel Smith has a color they call Shadow violet but does not look as useful as yours

Morning Michele...I too love Prussian blue for mixing a dark green but also a neutral tint, which in some brands r quite blue, is also a good dark mixing green. love Alli XXX P.S I am compiling a u tube folder for my adopted niece to help her get started in watercolours. My problem is I am not able to 'save' your video to her folder. I could share it but I wanted to keep my chosen video's in one place to make it easier for my niece to refer back to. would u be able to make this video so as I could save it please? XX
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Ай бұрын
Hi Alli! I have absolutely no idea how to do that, I haven't done anything different on this one. Do you download them? Sometimes you just need to try a different browser or device. You can also make your own 'playlist' on KZbin where you can place other people's videos.
@AlliListArt
@AlliListArt Ай бұрын
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Morning Michele. Yes the 'save' tab is along the bottom where we 'like' the video and can 'share' video. I could use the share tab but I find it much better for Jade to 'save' in a folder that I make and then it keeps all my chosen videos in one place. Then I can send her the 'saved' file I made for her when I have a beginner's collection for her. Some of your video's have the 'saved' tab but I have noticed, more recently, that u tubers I follow havent got it on and I cant even put into the 'saved' tab for 'watch later' xxx
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Ай бұрын
@@AlliListArt it's more likely some kind of KZbin thing, or the browser/device you are using. Apple users seem to get a lot of issues. I'm still able to save any video to watch later. Sadly, as I seem to have accumulated over 400 again 🤣

I use for that quin violet reddish and madder lake. And a lot of water. But as I don't paint flowers I don't need very punchy pinks. So I can get away with a watered down madder lake most of the time. I'm struggling with bright purples a lot, it's crazy how all beginner sets (12er) have a white which is almost never needed but no purple which is impossible to mix with the reds and blues that are included.
