Thank you so much! I posted my arrma granite 3s BLX V4 on eBay with your tips. I got more money out of the car than I expected due to the many upgrades I had on the car, and I also included the battery and charger + some spare parts.

Might be worth keeping in mind that if selling almost anything online and especially rc's online utilizing the many different platforms, websites etc that you mentioned, PayPal is most definitely a great way to both buy/sell but there are different options when making transactions via PayPal that one must choose when paying for/receiving payment for an RC. Ebay has automatically implemented policy's in place to try and help individuals from making potentially risky transactions by not allowing buyers and sellers to pay/recieve funds within eBay itself but other (less controlled) places/options for conducting business don't necessarily control the way/method transactions are made. That said, PayPal specifically has two options, one of which PayPal does not recommend or insure the security of transactions made when one chooses to pay/receive money via the "friends & family" option. This (friends & fam) is more suitable for sending money to people that the sender actually knows personally and trusts, rather than for transactions made for a product or service. Yes, PayPal fees can take a small percentage or flat fee or both from the total amount if money one might be receiving if they were to say use the "friends & family" option when selling an RC via Facebook marketplace as it generally more of a private transaction arranged by seller/buyer (any site or platform that does not closely monitor and control how every transaction can be completed but rather allows the private parties to post items for sale, deal with each other directly or privately however they choose and normally without charging fees for listing/selling ). The real issue is that there are alot of immoral and slimy people out there both selling and buying rc's that take advantage of the fact that PayPal does not protect the transactions completed using the friends and family knowing that either the seller is a less experienced person in terms of selling online who would rather not pay additional fees if not necessary... but the problem lies when the buyer pays this way and after payment is received by seller they take the $ and don't send the product without any real repercussions from PayPal who would otherwise help insure the seller recieves the amount expected and buyer rightfully recievs product as expected. This also goes for the shady buyers who will try and look for/take advantage of the more trusting less experienced sellers that are willing to send the RC AR somepoint during the transaction but the seller sends the rc to buyer prior to payment but buyer never sends the funds to seller once it's in route to them, the buyer pays the seller but after it arrives claims it never arrived/ wasn't as described etc and can ask seller to accept a refund that if agreed on the buyer may actually claim they sent it back to seller essentially scaming them by keeping the item after the "trusting seller " refunds their payment. I can go on for days but there are plenty of positive and safe ways to selling/buying over the web and essentially all a person needs to do is a small bit of research before going ahead and doing business in places that may seem safe but infact are not PayPal or no PayPal. There's also methods of verifying if the other party should be trusted 8n some cases cases on Facebook such as rc buyer/seller rc fb groups that their dole purpose is to verify the "good seller" who have conducted business via Facebook properly as well as to inform the rc community of slimy individuals who have in someway knowingly scale stole or in someway chose to some bad business, immoral acts or anything if that sort.(this is very helpful especially when the price of something is anything substantial or whatever the sellers item is anything substantial but in my opinion worth checking out before doing business via fb groups/marketplace etc. Moral to the story us.... good money can be both saved and made when doing rc related business online and especially within these more private/small groups but whichever route a person takes to either sell or buy, take the time to do some research to ensure that all the proper security measures are taken so that after taking the time to list a well photographed/properly described item for sale or laying out the money to make a purchase, that your not allowing yourself to get swindled by the endless amount of scummy people online these days looking for an easy target. In most cases the fees can ensure that you have I someway policies and security features among much more to keep business going well and in the safest most effective way possible. None of this is to say that there isn't tons of good, trust worthy and decent people along with great opportunities online in terms of buying/selling rc's because in the big picture there's alot of good/decent people Involved in the hobby in general but I hate to see good people get taken in one way or another and continue to hear unfortunate stories of good old RC enthusiasts who find themselves out a bunch of money, rc, components etc all due to the abundance of not so good ppl looking for someone less knowledgeable to more or less steal from via the internet these days. Great vid though I most definitely could use to unload some rc's to make room for some new ones and this vid had good reminders. Thanks very much

Yes..I have seen your stuff on Ebay! I feel you should always expect the electronics will need replaced and bearings too. It may not actually need that but if you add that into the price you will be less likely to get burned. I actually had a great experience where I bought my Kraton and the seller included the 6s battery, extra motor, and a extra servo! I was blown away. I didn't even think I would buy it because I made an offer as if it was a roller but he took it. He also included an extra body! This is not the norm though. Follow what Chris says here and you should be ok.

-If selling on eBay, you will get more bidders if you have more feedback, and it has to be close to 100% positive. Even if it's not all from selling. -Inversely, you can get good deals from new sellers because buyers do not know if they can trust them or not. -Don't forget the fees! eBay and PayPal can eat up a significant portion of the selling price, not to mention shipping.

Totally agree about the feedback, I forgot to mention that, thank you. And yeah the fees are pretty hefty now with paypal and ebay. But in the end, even with their setbacks, I seem to still come out on top from ebay than say a FB marketplace. I just found people to really chop you down on those platforms.

@@VallonesRCHobby Yeah, I find eBay the best place to sell, it's just something to keep in mind if new to selling there that when the fees come due it can be a shocker, keep money in your PayPal to cover it. I Just figure fees into my price if I want to clear a certain amount for an item. Great video and tips though.

Just did a test on eBay. Test 1. Tamiya buggy and charger and three batteries. Start auction Sunday night. Sold for $150. Buyer didn’t pay. Relisted it without the charger and batteries. On a friday night. Just the car. Auction is now up to $200. So in conclusion, some of these tips are just hearsay. Mainly it depends who is looking at the time. Which is down to luck. But eBay rules over marketplace for items you can post

How do you deal with international shipping? I always exclude international shipping because I don't want to deal with the shipping rates, and these days the crazy delays for international shipping.
@VallonesRCHobby
@VallonesRCHobby 4 жыл бұрын
the buyer pays for shipping, always. For ebay, just put in the size of your box, and weight into their "calculated shipping" option when listing, and then folks from other countries just put in their shipping postal code. eBay gives discounts to shipping when you use their calculator too. They have a deal with FedEx and USPS.

I bought my son a r.c. car for his birthday, but it's a little to much for him. I paid around $800 for it and it's still in box ready to run. So ebay would be a good option to sell?

all my cars are expensive but brand new because they are all shelf queens and only been turned on never driven and they are all upgraded... the reason I don't sell them is beachside I don't need money I just don't use them and I bought a scat pack charger... rc cars and trucks are for someone else not me anymore I'm so lazy I just boxed them up and they are in a closet.. I can't be bothered I'll just keep them I don't want to deal with low ballers and con artists and covid nevermind
