I lean toward a very classic preppy aesthetic, but with a twist. I love wearing a wild bohemian chandelier earring with a very old money classic look. Those types of earrings are flattering to my face and hair length. They can also add a bit of unexpected pop to my conservative attire.

I wear sheer black or sparkly black/grey socks with suede platform shoes or sandals, however I only wear them with jeans, I wouldn't wear them with a dress. Having said that, I found a photograph of my effortlessly stylish Italian grandma (nonna Cinzia) who in the mid-late 1930s wore sandals with short white socks and a gorgeous dress, and she looked really cute, she was on her honeymoon. So I thought that maybe I could try socks with a dress too. I love grandma style, these ladies have a lot to teach us. My grandma wore a lovely suede jacket with a Kelly-style handbag and always lovely silk scarves, blouses, footwear. I am the same age as she was when I was little (58) and I find myself trying to recreate her looks. I didn't think she was chic when I was little, but she was, she was a great seamstress too, always well put-together and wearing fitted clothes even at home. She lived in a small town and never left the house without looking elegant, but at the same time she was not snobbish about how other people looked, she was always kind and open-hearted.

I love your style, I love that you don't just stick to one style of clothes. You wear classics, boho, and bold glam. You're not afraid to step outside the box. The average person is afraid to step outside the box and it can be a little boring. Fashion should be fun. I have some friends who have more of a classic style leaning toward sporty. They said my style is all over the place. I don't see it that way. I have mainly a classic, plus boho kind of style with some occasional glam. I love Ralph Lauren, Free People, and Anthropologie, just to give you an idea. Again, love your style!!! 👠

I read this quote in the RL book a.co/d/d3qsl97, I'm gonna botch it but basically he says that he doesn't think about if western goes with equestrian or with classic preppy style, he just gravitates towards what makes his heart race. And that was a moment where I thought, '"that's me too!". Giving ourselves a bandwidth in dressing in whatever suits us and excites us! Great video as usual. I watch your channel, even though I am much older than the audience you are speaking to most of the time. Some of these rules are ingrained in me now, but the only one I think I still find hard to break is wearing white in winter. Here in the UK, I struggle to find trousers in winter weight fabrics that are cream or white, and my summer white jeans are a little lightweight for the weather.

Mixing prints - I've been inspired by how Massimo Dutti have styled stripes on their website, I bought a couple of tops and a shirt in neutral colours and also Zara's new khaki scarf (a gorgeous blend of browns, only around £22.99 which I think is good value). I haven't received any of them yet but looking forward to doing a little experimenting. However I would not mix more than 2 patterns and they would have to be similar colours (neutrals) and sizes whenever possible.

I still have not warmed up to the socks. I grew up with socks in sandals which outed me as 'the ugly German ' all over Europe 😆 I have tried black on brown, not a combo I would have thought of. I think color combinations are very cultural. I have seen so many outfits from all over Central Asia and different African countries. It has definitely widened my horizon. Over-sized on over-sized I love. 😍

Are you letting your hair go gray? In my experience, gray hair does not look great when one wears brown and being colors, one ends up looking washed out and the grey hair look brassy. I had to change my color scheme when I decided to let some of my hair go gray.
