What I hate about being INFP is bottling up all the negative stuff until it's too much. As an INFP, I try to NOT hate people. I may dislike some people but I certainly don't hate them, because hate is truly a powerful word. When I hate someone, I literally become the coldest person they'll ever know. I become so uncaring to the point I don't care if anything and I'll say it again, ANYTHING, happened to them. While usually it makes me feel sick when I ignore ppl, but for these people I hate, I could give zero flying fcks even when they need me.

I think the same. Like i am somehow worried how people often use that word. I personally nowadays don't have person that i hate, not even that i dislike. I had bad situations in the past, but we were kids or teenagers so today i am neutral towards those people BUT as it's said in video i didn't forgot what they've done to me, and if we'll ever meet again i will be very cautious around those people.

I was really surprised to see my flaws so accurately described and tbh I've been FIGHTING this for YEARS with little to no success. I hate it. And like you the cost is really far greater for not addressing the situation right away or really even just at SOME point. It's hellish knowing this and still letting it happen because of a combination of avoidance, internalized shame, past experiences, shame towards personal anger, the potential for the situation to escalate BECAUSE of YOU. It's a lot, but I've come to realize at the base of it is an extremely low sense of self worth to the point that I almost AUTOMATICALLY place more value on another person rather than myself. I recently left a job because of mild harassment from a coworker because I would rather be unemployed than risk this person becoming unemployed AND homeless...when I have no evidence other than her words that she was homeless...and face that myself due to unemployment. The weird thing is, even though I KNOW this person is MORE THAN LIKELY just manipulative I STILL FEEL BAD FOR TRYING TO REPORT HER?!!?!? LIKE BRAIN + EMOTIONS....CMON!?!

Everything is accurate omg, especially the they avoid people they hate, when angry they're aggressive, and that they never forget the bad things you did to them. I avoid people I really hate, I basically treat them as if they don't exist, to the point that the person even feels strong hatred back to me(I don't care tho, I hate them anyways). I have high tolerance from bad things that people do to me and even when I feel like I'm about to burst, I could still control it. But when I burst out, I have all things planned on how I'm gonna burst this bubble. I also never forget how a person treated me badly, those are ingrained on the back of my head and they stack. Although if a person is genuinely asking for forgiveness, I forgive them.

I'll have breakdowns by myself, will sometimes kick a box or something, or might even turn the aggression inward out of fear of even perceived rejection in a public space, but I have had very few angry confrontations in my life. @@PickedOff100 On the contrary, this is textbook INFP behaviour. If you push someone... and push them... and push them... and push them... and push them... then eventually, they're going to _snap_ - and when they do, the fallout will be glorious. Everyone has a breaking point, no matter how docile they appear on the surface, and how well-intentioned they try to be. Immaturity, certainly. We need to develop and learn to combat our conflict-averse tendencies so the situation never boils over to that point in the first place. But it is a natural tendency, left unchecked. I reached this extreme boiling point maybe twice or three times in my life, and to nobody's great surprise, two of them were a reaction against bullies when I was still in school.

Its not that I seek conflict, its just that if I dont like something, chances are, I will speak up about it. I do not fit into the ''textbook INFP'' stereotype, but you do not decide whether I am or not of this particular cognitive PREDISPOSITION. Because thats what it is - a predisposition. Its not a personality, its a personality predisposition, which gets modulated by various life experiences. Some people fit into the stereotype well, others may fall into a minority of divergents in a group that is already pretty rare. Made me question my own predisposition (despite tests), and feel like I cant fully relate to anything. I gues Its my own mistake for unintentionally simplifying the complexity of human personality.

The point is, as INFPs our visible emotional reactions tend to extremes. If everything is rather balanced, you most likely are going to notice rather weak reactions - if any at all - but if our Fi-Si loop starts to spool up, we are going to react swiftly and strongly (goes for any emotion that we may be experiencing), usually without any precursors of what is coming up next. Lack of communication on the one hand, but assumptions on the other as well. Both make an extremely good recipe for complete disaster. As a saying goes, assumptions are the first step toward failure so if you are unsure, the best thing to do is ask. This goes both ways, though, and an INFP might not necessarily be comfortable addressing issues at hand for fear that things could derail even further (especially true for an INFP-T), and lending a helping hand in resolving them would certainly go a long way.
@SDoesNotKnow Жыл бұрын
It’s true that INFPs will learn to communicate more directly as they mature and become more self-confident in themselves, but then they will do so with people who are worth the effort. If you want an INFP to communicate with you better then you should also do the work to make them feel safe enough to do it and not create a space that makes them just not want to bother. It’s only fair that people work on what they’re doing that is preventing other people from communicating more directly towards them…or communicate at all.

As an INFP, I want to highlight a quirk that was briefly mentioned in the video. I have a weird habit of letting things go to waste sometimes. After noticing a trending behavior, I thought deeply about the underlying reasons I do this and found that most of the time if I didn't buy it, work for it, or had it gifted to me with almost painful obviousness- I will not touch the given object and let it go to waste because it "wasn't mine." this goes for objects but also ideas, processes, secrets, and other abstractions of Ownership. So if you know an INFP and notice a wasteful habit, you might want to make VERY clear the ownership of the things they are so allowed to own/use/have.

In order to defuse the situation with your ENFJ friend maybe you should attempt to interface with his Fe dominant more if you sense that something is going haywire instead of relying on his tertiary Se to drive home your point. @@Robidu1973 probably, yes. She was repressed for most of her childhood and teen years, and now, at her twenties, her ego is starting to bloom. So she might not see the difference between standing her ground versus taking other people's voice away (Ti Inferior insecurity - Te Demon manifestation, like you said). Probably time to ghost this person, thoughts?
@melimelo83346 ай бұрын
@@Mannwhich It seems she is a very unhealthy version. A self-centered one. If she is taking advantage of your kindness and acting in that self-absorbed and selfish manner, then yeah it is time to call her out on her behaviour and let her have a piece of your mind. Depending on how she will react you will know wether to ghost her or not. Some people are just not worth the energy though. It really depends on her attitude and how much this friendship matters to you. If you deem it worthy enough to try and save it. Normally, if you tell an INFP how badly you feel because of their behaviour (if they are not aware of it) you will trigger their ever-present guilt and self-reflection/introspection. A healthy INFP doesn't wait for people to tell him/her his wrongdoings. They already know as they are in introspection mode 24h/7. And they instantly feel when they mess up with someone. If they are unhealthy though they will need that push to realize their mistakes. Some who are struggling with mental health, will numb their feelings to avoid feeling too much and it blocks that self reflection. And some are just not healthy people and struggle to question themselves. They can have narcissistic traits. Those who are less unhealthy might get defensive and try to save face but that doesn't mean that they didn't realize their mistakes and don't feel ashamed of it. If they are INFP, once you call them out on it, there are high chances they would feel like the worst person to walk this earth and will immediately do their best to make it up to you. Unless you are facing a very mentally unhealthy and stubborn individual in which case, you will waste your time and energy trying to make them see the obvious. It is strange for an INFP to act this way but not impossible to encounter. There are all sorts of individuals in a same type. My advice would be to ask her directly why she always seems to contact you when she needs something from you. And watch her reaction. Would you mind sharing your mbti ?

@silviajames I don't agree with your last statement. INFPs are very much capable and willing to sacrifice themselves for others, even more so for people they care about. And a lot of INFPs do it often. We are just so lowkey about it that it goes unnoticed. We don't like to brag or let people know what things we did for them. We keep it all inside. It takes away from its values if you tell other people what you "sacrificed" for them. We don't even like to call it a sacrifice. We do what needs to be done to ensure the well-being and hapiness of the people close to us. Even for people who are not that close. Most times, people close to the INFP won't know what things the INFP did for them as it is silently done. I know some INFPs who I would qualify of martyrs, given how selfless and generous they are, prioritizing other people over themselves ALL THE TIME and seeing how they are often taken advantage of by self-entitled people. We like to do good/right things but we are reluctant to take credit for it.

To quote Lisa (Marisa Tomei's character) from My Cousin Vinny "Dead on balls accurate!" It's an industry term ... You are the first video to brooch the danger of pushing an INFP to far and incurring their potentially physical violent reprisal. I made a comment in a video about it and others in the comments questioned whether I was indeed an INFP. I was bullied incessantly throughout school and chose to take action to rectify and curtail this problem, of course I became labelled a bully as well, but it had the desired effect. I am happy for them that they were never pushed to this point, but I have been on more occasions then I am able to recite. Happily those incidents occurred in my teens and early twenties and I have since learned many abilities to reign in this possible outcome. I have had knives, bats and guns pulled on me, once you lose all fear you no longer can be easily intimidated. To be fair I was hit with a bat and had stitches and was cut with knives, luckily not shot yet though. *crosses fingers* *prays* Most people who pull weapons are afraid, the few who aren't are pulling them to use them. INFP are extremely loyal to those they care for, and several occasions were due to others, and not of my own volition or due to anything I had done to illicit said response. But if your INFP cares for you they will do whatever it takes within their abilities to let you know emphatically and with great risk to themselves. Thank you and looking forward to more of your insights.

Is it really useful to stick everyone in a label box, complete with assigned behavior? These distinctions/descriptions are ideas, mental constructs, not fact or science. And we are all naturally hypnotically impressionable, so we can mentally try all kinds of mental constructs on. Is this more inner understanding, or more societally based rubbish to distract our actual clarity of being.

Thank you! Finally someone says it. This Mbti thing is turning into the old zoodiac bs every day
@imnsopher2 жыл бұрын
@@berserker3414 No it's not similar to zodiac. Mbti is formed based on decades of studies of people's behavior. They used those observations of behaviors, along with personality theories to label one's personality, making people understand what their predominant thinking are. Yes, the behaviors said above may find similarities to some personalities, but NOT all personalities. Using cognitive functions, we can backtrack why an INFP would lean on doing such actions and why an ESTJ would react differently.

I can't speak for anyone else, but subjectively it was helpful to me in terms of framing natural tendencies I've carried and observed through much of my life until recently. And certainly people who also identify as similar types to myself, especially other NFs, feel much more like kindred spirits than those with a radically different typing. Typology never even came into it until later, but I was not at all surprised to learn the types of some people I know. It isn't assigned behaviour as much as an explanation of innate proclivities and tendencies. People are still individuals; and you're right, it's not science. How could it be? Personalities are complex beyond the realms of scientific study; the human brain is too ill-equipped to understand itself in detail. You're also not wrong about human suggestibility and mental frameworks, but it would take some serious subconscious manipulation to make me radically change my paradigm. It's like elastic; at the end of the day I am who I am, which is for the most part who I've always been. I take it with the requisite pinch of salt, but if people find helpful, at the end of the day, what's the harm?

These are all really accurate for me, I really struggle making friends at school because i'm too picky. I may talk to a lot of people but I don't really consider all of them my friends, maybe just some of them.

As INFP I'd loved to helping people based their ambition, for example if they really wants to learn how to draw I willingly to help them from zero, I offering myself to help them but they says they are too lazy to learn so I think it's going to waste my time. I rather make them learn how to deal with it than do everything for them tho. I prefer someone ambitious, intelligent, caring and a friend that never abandoned me. So basically I'm really selective for a friend, trust me y'all also doesn't want to trust someone that doesn't care about you and make yourself suffer, they not on time or responsible for group project.. That's the reason why I prefer working alone and get myself a good grade. Tbh if I got besties I might learn how to bake so I can pampering them by sweets, cake or any pastries and my cooking. Also pampering them with a lot physical touches, but this whole time I can't find a friend that suites my criteria so I don't have any friends or someone with further relationship.. 😔

I can’t believe how this nailed my view of the world. I took the MB test many times but no other summation described me better than this! I got confused about my scores in the past but this made it clear what my type was. Keep doing your channel, p,ease. I need to know I’m not weird.

These traits are really me, it's no denying that I'm one of those people that I am built diffently from other but then sometimes it's tiring to be my self because my environment doesn't seem to appreciate me or like take care of me hunting, mad or envious of other people or also by not give any attention. They'd think it was fine but it was not. In addition, getting in a relationship with someone is really difficult for me in my peers, I feel pressured and anxious about getting to know someone that I stutter speaking even if it's a simple question.

As an INFP, everything here was so accurate I’m shocked. This has been the most accurate any MBTI video has been on me personally as an INFP. I still feel frustrated that I always unconsciously avoid people and get mad at little jokes easily and refuse to help for the smallest things if people that can do it ask for it (I know theyre lazy, but still it’s such a small thing) but now after watching this I feel comfortable knowing that this is just who I am 😂

Well, yes but being used for some time, you know the help point I changed myself a bit, it was unhealthy of me to give myself away for people, don't take on too much on your plate, prioritize yourself, keep boundary, and yes I'm more vocal now, if I don't like you ir don't wanna talk about a subject I don't want to or don't wanna use my time on you, I say it now and believe it relieved me so much
