I can't believe it! I spent 5 hours googling the other day looking for my Mom's old recipe for what we called "Frosting Candy". The closest I came was to one like this but they added a little light Kayro, which I knew she didn't do. Basically she made a thick buttercream frosting mix (without the milk). Then she would roll the balls in coconut, chopped nuts, chocolate Jimmies, candy sprinkles, etc with no chocolate dipping. Except when she rolled the mix around Maraschino cherries ... then dipped those in melted chocolate! They were all to die for! The perfect versatile candy... flavor how you want... color how you want.. then dip or roll in whatever coating you want! Thank you so much!! Shirley in NH 👍 🥰

I chop up maraschino cherries into sm pieces and add to cream cheese, some I chop pecans, and some walnuts. There's so many different ideas. I also do some with toffee bits, and some with mini chocolate chips. Thanks again for sharing your talents.

Tara, your recipe for the orange fudge that came out too soft would be a great candy center. I made a double recipe using white bark but did maple with walnuts instead of orange. After refrigerating to set up, I rolled into balls and dipped in chocolate bark. OMG, it turned out like candy store creams. YUM😂.

I am going to have to try that! That sounds great!!!

Tara, I forgot to tell you to use only one pkg of white almond bark 16oz for the cream centers along with the 2 cans SC milk. I did maple nut. Also, you can make raspberry using freeze-dried raspberry powder. Yum😊

I have a question: is the consistency of these like what we would have called a bonbon? They used to be like this little chocolate mountain about an inch and a half tall, usually dark chocolate and a plain vanilla middle of like a York PP . My family has looked for these for years even so called vintage stores on internet! I do think these could come very close so thanks a million!!!!!❤
@supereasyrecipe17 күн бұрын
Yes they are bonbons.

Loving these videos. So not candy but my husband said the other day he wanted pretzels. (I've been baking and cooking so he was talking homemade) I found your recipe in my DOAD Vol. 1. They came out so good. I will freeze some, as the recipe made 16. I'm loving cooking the fun recipes. Thank you! P.S. I'm still trying to make Mike's biscuits where they come out big and fluffy.

Should you wash your hands in between flavors it may have been a good idea to add different colored food colorings depending upon the flavor. Light green for your peppermint red for your cherry etcetera

How long can you freeze them?

Do these need to be refrigerated? I just made up my dough and separated it into 5 flavors … peanut butter, cinnamon, lemon, green apple and strawberry. The last two I used Skittles drink mix. I’m kneading the flavor and coloring now. I hope they turn out as good as yours. Any idea on how to make a caramel flavor? I have some caramel baking bits and was tempted to melt some of them to knead it into the dough but was afraid it would be either too hot and it would goo up my dough or too cold and it wouldn’t mix in well.
@supereasyrecipe16 күн бұрын
You could brown the butter before adding to the powdered sugar for caramel. You don't have to refrigerate them.

All of my bon bon recipes calls for melted butter maybe that's why you had to keep adding butter because it wasn't liquid enough.

Try cooking longer at low temp. I just made a praline pumpkin, baked at 225 for an hour and forty five minutes. Then turn off oven and let it sit( door ajar) for fifteen min .when baking never open door.
