Just out of curiosity I had to look up the center flavor of an Idaho spud. I love them. Thank your for videos they give great ideas. I am a new subscriber. Center: A soft, light cocoa-flavored marshmallow Cover: A dark chocolate coating Sprinkle: Coconut flakes

My first baking experience was making a potato candy, back in 1963…. We used mashed potatoes to make an Easter candy egg. I thought maybe this was what a spud candy was.

All recipes look amazing. My dad’s mom was in her 80’s . When she died. She did not buy marshmallow cream. Nor canned processed food except sweeten condensed milk. She never grew up on it . She ate her meat and potatoes and other vegetables. She made cookies and cake but from scratch. My mom bought that stuff pre pared food like chicken patties and the beef patties and pot pies and canned frosting . My mom was 63 when she died. My ex husbands relatives in Canada were in there 90’s when we saw them and playing golf. There were two families that we visited ( relatives) that ate health food stuff only. Very healthy food I guess and lived to be well into there 90’s Bruce hubby friend had a grandpa who smoked and ate anything and lived to be in his 90’s

When I am making Holiday candies, and using Almond Bark as a coating, I always chop it up, or break into smaller pieces before melting in the microwave. It makes candy making so much easier. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing recipes with us. Hugs 🤗 and God bless 💓🙏💓

I’m not trying to be a “ know it all”, but at Hobby Lobby and baking supply places you can buy oil based flavoring and colorings that won’t make your chocolate seize up. Also butter contains some water so coconut oil is better than butter for your candy, less chance of seizing. I enjoy your videos, especially with Mike and / or your mom . I like the banter❤

Yes could you please tell stories? I Mae what I cal peanut butter balls. It’s 1cup of sugar 2 cup peanut butter in a pot, cook until everything is melted and combine. With a microwave bowl melt chocolate chips , with a spoon or scoop make balls in parchment to cool. Dip in chocolate to set. The first candy I made was Hershey coco fudge.

Maple. The flavor in Idaho spud is maple. Any liquid can seize your chocolate that can include liquid food coloring, flavorings and margarine. Sometimes butter will seize it as well. Please no disrespect intended. Just a thought. I love all of your creative candy ideas.
