Murmook and Lash are both extremely good with Bait and Switch too. Stall their forge and then they build up to 7-9 amber or more then you declare shadows and steal the bulk of it. I'd offer to buy the deck if I didn't think you'd want more than I can afford lol

Good content. I like the analytical side of the game.

Thing is, ideas like this are always just general ideas and never specific enough to say how good a deck really is. You can have a deck with lots of taunt creatures, 2 Shadow Selfs, Evasion Sigil, etc., and then lots of creatures with really good reap abilities and have it be a really strong deck. This is just going by the general case that most decks don't use those little reap creatures very well. Which leads us to the main point that this video didn't cover: synergy. Synergy is a huge factor in what makes a deck good.

Oi... I admit I haven’t watched/listened to all your content on the game, but I hope it’s understandable the concern I have with this type of content already making its way through. I really wish this game could just be a “play with the hand (deck) you’re dealt” game, period. But it was inevitable we would get to this point where the “what makes a deck better than others” discussion. Now you know those addictive, competitive personalities are about to buy 50 decks more than is healthy just so they can say they have a deck that “checks the boxes”. And then, after awhile, they will get to the point you got to at the end of the video- “this deck isn’t perfect...” and then 100 more decks later... :( I really hope this isn’t the case, but I hope you understand my concern with an otherwise very intriguing concept.

I think this game will work great for casual play. People will buy a few decks and have fun with them. Where it will break down is the min maxers, who will seek the best deck. One of the main points of this video was to help you determine if your deck is good for the following reasons. 1.) So someone doesn't convince you to part with a great deck. 2.) So you know the power when playing against friends. If your deck meets these criteria and your friend's deck does not, it might be time to take some chains.

Yes but while these are generic concepts found in good decks, there will definitely be outlying decks that excel in other ways. Also, the way the tournaments will likely be structured helps balance out overpowered decks. Successful decks will start with "chains" to restrict them from drawing as many cards during a duel. With every deck being tracked in a database. So skilled players won't be able to keep running that same overpowered deck... they will have to find the next new deck out there. I love it, although I know not everyone will.

The creator of keyforge wants there to be a competitive drafting game where you get a deck and deal with it for the tournament

Your deck was only an example, right? It looked like those cards were from numerous different decks, based on the different deck names on the bottom right.

This is his virtual deck from tabletop simulator, which is a much MUCH smarter way to play this game honestly, because you get infinite, free re-trys on loading a random deck instead of paying $10 x however many bad decks you get

Thanks for the additional info Mike! I’m assuming the plan is to at some point have it spawn random decks when all card images are available? I guess there is some specific formula to how FFG makes the decks, so that may be more difficult than it sounds.

I'm not playing on TTS to avoid buying decks. I'm playing there because it's the only option available. I would love nothing more than to buy 10 decks right now. FFG let me give you my money!!
@fleaz5325
@fleaz5325 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, as far as I can tell, FFG is using a generation algorithm similar to the ones used in procedural generation games like Minecraft to make decklists. There's no way they're publishing their algorithm and it's effectively impossible to reverse engineer, so there just isn't going to be a way to create a TTS deck generator that is accurate to the game.

I worry that metagaming will ruin this game for casual play. We are all going to sit down with these analysis and determine which decks to play and not play the others. I thought part of the fun of this game was playing all these different decks. Oh, well.

I think that there are going to be 2 very different crowds. The having a great time casual group, and the competitive scene. I will probably gravitate towards the competitive side, but I think the casual scene will be much more fun.
@timeforvintagepancakes9751
@timeforvintagepancakes9751 6 жыл бұрын
@@DrSkull speaking as a highly competitive person, I think the amount of fun of either scene is somewhat subjective. I do not enjoy casual scenes because no one offers me a sufficient challenge and I am constantly being accused of being tryhard. Which, if you think about it, is an odd criticism for people who supposedly don't care about winning to make. If they don't mind second place, then how hard I try should have no relevance.
