I've been working on bar chords for almost a year now and this video helps a lot. I also found that using the 1-4-5 progression is helpful because that is the chords that you will usually use together. To make it a little more challenging I sometimes practice the 6-4-1-5 progression using the relative minor in the 6th position.

Ever look up "songs to practice barre chords" it's a short list. With the exception of b & f chords the only time I use them is when I'm practicing barre chords. Practicing without a song btw because I don't care for the same 5 or 6 songs that are on every list, with the exception of hotel California. Power chords are used SUBSTANTIALLY more

Hi,I have a problem with barre chords and that is when I do the index finger strength training,I am able to barre all strings,but when I play Bm,the lower part of my index goes a bit up which causes only 4 strings ringing out, can u tell me some tips to this problem?

Do you have tips on playing an A major form bar chord with the double bar technique? I really struggle not muting the high E string.

Hey Nate. My daughter recently started learning guitar. She is six. We got her a classical guitar to start with. Her instructor wants her to pick a song to learn. A real song , not Mary had a little lamb stuff. Any suggestions?
@MusoraOfficial7 жыл бұрын
That's a tough question. I'd suggest just about any song she knows or is interested in learning. The vast majority of songs can be reduced down into some simple chords. :)

Great video. Can I just clarify that you don't bother moving your index finger (barre) down 1 string when switching from E shape to A shape? The.

Is his pointer finger literally on the bar or more within the fret?
@jessehutchings4 жыл бұрын
Cool! I've been doing similar exercises to this on my own just sitting down and practicing switching between the chord shapes I know starting at the lowest position and barring them up and down the neck. Then I practice parts of a handful of my fav guitar heavy songs to add in some diversification

Hey nate i wanna ask...for eminor shaped bar chords i realise i.need to move my index finger slightly higher up above the guitar neck to get tht stupid g string to ring....but i see u dont need to? Why is tht???
@pete.douglass.furlong6 жыл бұрын
Saw this wasn't answered and thought I might take a stab - I think depending on your hand/finger strength there are different adjustments we need to make. Also can have to do with hand size. I'd be curious to hear other thoughts on this, but that's what occurred to me.
