Color Television was created by John Logie Baird. In August 1944, Baird gave the world's first demonstration of a practical fully electronic color television display. He demonstrated the world's first colour transmission on 3 July 1928, using scanning discs at the transmitting and receiving ends with three spirals of apertures, each spiral with a filter of a different primary colour; and three light sources at the receiving end, with a commutator to alternate their illumination.[28][29] That same year he also demonstrated stereoscopic television.[30] Guillermo González Camarena (17 February 1917 - 18 April 1965) was a Mexican electrical engineer who was the inventor of a color-wheel type of color television.

González Camarena also invented the "simplified Mexican color TV system" as a much simpler and cheaper alternative to the NTSC system. Due to its simplicity, NASA used a modified version of the system in its Voyager mission of 1979, to take pictures and video of Jupiter.
