There's a classic blooper I picked up on from episode the midnight sun. After it gets so hot the power goes out, a guy comes in the apartment for water and opens the refrigerator and the light goes on. Pretty funny after the power went out

As I've said before, I really like these little bloopers. At the time, a lot of them were probably left in due to costs of reshooting. 1 of the things I love about The Twilight Zone is how many great actors, established as well as starting out, were in different episodes. & of course, It's a Good Life got The Simpsons treatment.

This is one reason why I love being a subscriber here. Your content is very unique, yet always informative and interesting when it comes to all these old TV shows we all grew up watching and loving. Cheers!

Thank you for the video, but remember that when these episodes were aired, there was no High Definition TV. It wasn't even very good definition TV. There also were no consumer recording devices to pause or slow down the action. TZ also did not have a huge budget, and their production schedule did not allow many re-shoots. It was an anthology series, and the star performers had to move on to the next job and so were not always available for call backs. Some of those things would be noticed by few viewers. Other things, like blooper #1, wouldn't be noticed at all.

Yes, not even in color. There's an episode of Star Trek TOS called "The Naked Time" where the Enterprise crew encounter a planet where the population has been killed off by some disease. We see a "corpse" that, on an HD modern TV, is very obviously a mannequin. Back then on a 1967 TV it would have probably looked more believable.

Great video! Technically there's one more in the Monster episode and that's when little Anth'ny Fremont turns the neighbor into a jack-in-the-box the shadow on the wall shows one with a bobblehead and no neck, but when the face is shown he of course has one!

I kind of wonder if they could go through and update all the special effects with modern technology. Kind of like when Paramount remastered all the Star Trek original series episodes and added in newer fancier effects and even quick cutscenes of shuttle exiting the ship's shuttle bay and such.

@@ShalmendoGlineux That would destroy it, and be a massive mistake. would only me a option if it was included along side the origabal. like they did tish Startrek TOS, where you could switch between the two versions while you were watching.

@@mikeypeters7003 - I agree. First, I watched most of these when I was 7,8, or 9 years old - and didn't notice a thing. I am re-watching them now and watching S1:E2, the mad riding a wagon into town, in the far distance I can see massive towers (like cell phone towers, but must have been power or TV towers back then),. BUT, none of that stuff should be "fixed", the Twilight Zone is PERFECT the way it is...

I remember all these, but missed all the bloopers. Been a few decades since I've seen them. As a point of trivia the actor in "stopover in a quiet town" was Barry Nelson, the first actor to play James Bond on film. The one where they substituted the car was actually a common practice. In many shows where the car gets in a wreck, or, in the case of an action scene, explodes, the car usually changes in that split second just before the accident. I don't remember that episode, but it looks like the car might have been swerving, so they might have switched out the car for a cheaper one that was specifically used for stunt work, just in case something happened.

With the last one... Note where the note is on the door based on the molding on the door. It's a little over a foot above the center cross piece molding on the door. When the scene changes, and the guy is bent over locking the door, the note is still about a little over a foot from the center molding. I don't think it changes, the different perspective and that he is bent over makes it look like it has moved.

We had ditched cable TV years ago and have used Roku boxes ever since. For several years, their line-up included entire channels exclusively devoted to just one single TV show. These channels would stream all of the episodes of the shows, in chronological order, 24/7, uncut, commercial-free and cost free, as well. It was awesome and it's a shame that they no longer do this. Nonetheless, "The Twilight Zone" occupied one of those channels. Due to that, I've seen every episode of the series, dozens of times. As I am very familiar with the episodes, one of the advantages of watching them was to look for those little things that you might have missed on the first (or twentieth) viewing. I have to say, maybe I still had been so absorbed in the episodes themselves, I never caught any of those glitches - not a single one! Thank you for pointing them out - adding another layer of enjoyment to a timeless TV series.

Love the Twilight Zone. One for the Angels I think details are put there to help Ed Wynn who was quite elderly when recording the episode. The thing about machines, the vehicle is the same as ours are in Australia, like most British ex colonies. Young Billy Mumy in it's a good life may have parted his hair differently but he was an awesome child actor who never fell into drug addiction or alcoholism. He was such a wonderful young actor which I also loved in my favourite TV show as a young girl from Melbourne, Australia, being Lost in Space

Rick Nineg missed the point of; It's a Good Life. Billy Mumy's character is not a monster. He is just a small child with absolute unchecked power!!! This was a valuable lesson to viewers on the essence of power & corruption. Note that at that time the US was closer to nuclear war annihilation then at any other time in history. This theme or subtext Rod Serling would visit over and over again.

Have the people involved SAID they got the idea from a Twilight Zone episode? Because there are only so msnt ideas. The horror and sci-fi genres constantly use variations on the same few ideas. I guarantee that the Twilight Zone was NOT the first time some of those plots were used, esp with the thousands of short stories and comic book stories that existed already

I haven't seen the episode you mentioned first, but could notice crew members and stage lights when you showed the clip in real time and slow motion. I never noticed in The Hitchhiker which is one of my favorites as well. Now, with the Something About Machines episode I did notice the guy crouched while driving, I laughed so hard. I loved that time traveling episode, but never noticed the reflection in his sunglasses. For #5 I did notice that while watching that episode. I never noticed with #6 and that one wasn't one of my favorites. Never noticed the last one either, that was a good episode. Almost all the episodes of The Twilight Zone that I've seen are really good there are a few that I thought was freaky and will not watch again, some were dull, but there are so many that are favorites of mine, I loved the twists at the end, you never see them coming! Rod Serling was a genius! I couldnt get into his show Night Gallery though.

It’s good you found those bloopers, real good! Imagine if you will a groundbreaking early television program, a novel and unique endeavor excelling in outstanding writing presenting thought-provoking, often surreal exploration of diverse subjects, boldly sold to uncertain network executives, but at times lacking a competent script supervisor to ensure continuity, that we shall call - the not quite right zone. I only noticed the cars, because I always notice classic cars.

a good one that I just noticed recently is in the eye of the beholder when the doctor and nurse who have the pigfaces are talking in a shadow...they keep purposely hiding the doc's face...but there's a second or two where you can see that he is not wearing the prosthetic at all in that particular scene lol the nurse had her back to the camera so you couldn't see her at all. I'm sure it saved time and money to not have to go through all that makeup in a scene where they aren't showing their faces

@@ricknineg I don't think it was a blooper or a lack of continuity. Serling was a genius and had full creative control in the early seasons.

Rick, another great blooper video! I have not watched The Twilight Zone for years but will seek out some episodes, especially the Hitch Hiker one. I may have a blooper for you, in Green Acres S02E18 EXODUS TO BLEEDSWELL. In one scene Haney is selling various colored security badges in order to get into the production plant. You can see all the colors of the badges and Haney mentions various access privileges for the red, white and yellow badges, You can see the various colors of the badges during a full screen shot of them. In a following scene Oliver Douglas enters a "Restricted Area". The sign states "Pink Badges Only". However Pink Badges are not available according to what we see on Haney's badge board. I'm not sure of this is a blooper or an intentional faux pas to demonstrate the insanity of the whole scheme.....take a look. A Green Acres Blooper video would be awesome too....

My parents wouldn’t allow me to watch The Twilight Zone 🤬, but I love bloopers of any form and these are really good. I guess we weren’t as observant as we should have been in those days to spot Billy Mumy’s strange hairstyles or the car that changed colour and shape, and it’d probably never occurred to the producers of these shows that, with the aid of a domestic video recorder (a futuristic invention), we could see some of the set men, reflections in glasses, etc., that you’ve pointed out. If I ever do get to see some full episodes, I will keep my eyes peeled 👀.

Ed Wynn aka "The Perfect Fool" (during vaudeville years) was a great actor and I think he was the lead actor in three episodes of The Twilght Zone. I noticed in the still frames of "One for the Angels" that he was not standing at full height in either of the stills showing him outside his door. Even in the 2nd still image it appears that he is still hunched over by 2-3 inches. It is one of my top 5 episodes of TTZ series. Thank you for your posts. I always enjoy them!!!

Ed Wynn also played the trainer in the original TV production of Rod Serling's "Requiem For a Heavyweight" with his son Keenan as the manager and Jack Palance as the fighter.

Hello Rick--great job! Another Twilight Zone blooper you missed: This episode starred William Schatner while he was on a plane with a little monster disabling the engine. Please note the plane keeps changing from a two-engine machine (Convair 340) during close-ups, to a four-engine machine (Douglass DC-6) during far distance shots. Check it out! Tom H.

4. I wonder if the darkening of the car’s color might have been a deliberate choice on Sterling’s part to increase the mood and tension of that episode towards the end of it? I guess we’ll never really know.

How could I miss all of these bloopers !, thank you, Rick !, There's an Argentinean TTZ copycat show called "Historias para no dormir" and that one is chock-full of bloopers on almost every episode, it featured more supernatural stories than sci-fi tho, lol I grew up watching both shows in PR back in the 80s

This is pretty good one Rick. I have seen some of those bloopers but did you know they did a remake on number 6 and that the original little guy, right now I can't remember his name, was in the remake as one of the guys sitting on the bar I don't know if you seen Twilight Zone the movie or what but that's what it was in. Anyway thanks for the video enjoyed it have a great day and stay safe!

You know what I noticed here? In that episode about the face-changer there's a nightclub poster for "Buck Winston opening tonight". Well, Buck Winston was a corny cowboy boyfriend of Mary Boland in the classic 1939 film, "The Women". That's what leapt out to me...

Excellent video and thanks for sharing! At the Hitch hiker scene about the different cars: could it be possible that the original scene was about the girl and the stranger making her struggle with the steerwheel and having them both about to crash with ANOTHER vehicle (the black older one) ? Just asking.

I am shocked that I missed the car change in the hitchhiker episode. This being one of my favorites kept me on the edge of my seat. Usually I will catch every car mistake. Speaking of car mistakes or just something interesting to note. My wife and I were recently watching the pilot for Cannon. Cannon always drove a Continental Mark lll, then several Mark IV's throught the series. In the pilot he drove a 1970 Lincoln Continental 4 door. In that episode while searching for a killer he gets brake checked and rear ends a truck. This buckles the hood and does other front end damage. You see the car one more time in a shop then no more. Thos episode was filmed in 1971. Here is where it gets weird. Flash forward to an early episode of Barnaby Jones (1974). Why this stucks out is because I watched the two shows a day apart. On Barnaby Jones and man and wife are involved in an accident where the husband dies. Barnaby Jones goes to a wrecking yard to examine the victims car. This is the exact same car Cannon wrecked on the pilot three years earlier. Same color, same exact damage. Being in the body shop business you notice stuff like this. I thought wow, what are the odds that two different shows filmed three years apart would you see something like this. Both shows were Quinn Martin Productions so it is not a stretch. Another automotive trivia. The car/truck that Ralph Malph drives on Happy Days can be seen in a 1969 episode of Green Acres. This is a full five years before Happy Days started. Billy Mumy who plays the part of the monster child was a fantastic child actor. He had that part nailed.

In the first blooper episode, when the couple were in an empty town. When they look under the hood of the car, and find that it has no engine, if you look in the background, there are two men sitting on a bench. You would think that since they were frantically looking for people, that they would notice this :-)
