I love the C8, but I can't say I'm a giant fan of the looks, although I'm sure a lot of other people are. It's not an ugly car, it's just not my style. HOWEVER I have an idea for GM: Obviously the C8 is a bit Ferrari-ish in it's styling. I don't think they borrowed from Ferrari, but taking a C7, looks-wise, and making it rear-mid engine just happens to look like a Ferrari. I personally think Ferraris aren't that good looking. I think Lamborghinis are AMAZING looking. So here's my idea: make a Cadillac version of the C8 with the blackwing engine. The more angular caddie styling would make it look more like a Lamborghini and that would blow my mind and I'd buy like 3 and my wife and kids would leave me.

The base 911 might not be too quick, but the 911 Turbo is quicker than just about anything. Since it’s debut in 1963, the 911 is and always was a performance car of its time. I’m not saying the C8 and Ferrari aren’t good performance cars. I’m just pointing out that saying the 911 isn’t a sports car is like saying Eddie Van Halen was the best drummer on earth.

@@HipsterNgarimanThe S660 also has low insurance and running costs. I was taking into account only price when new. 914 is quite expensive now. I like the Speedster. I like even more the GT. But those were always priced out of the reach for most. Not that C8 is cheap, but considering what you get, it's a bargain. This topic can be interpreted in many ways and with many price brackets. There are also many great cars to choose from, but I drew the line with these.

REAR Mid-Engine. To say merely "mid-engine" is lazy and inaccurate. The Corvette (until C8), The Viper, most Aston Martins, TVRs, the Miata, Honda S2000, and soooo many more are FRONT Mid-engine. It is a absolutely annoying fallacy of the car community to omit or WRONGLY describe certain cars, whose engines are between the front and rear axles, because their engines are in front of the passenger compartment. There is a reason why the designation "rear mid-engine" and "rear midship" exist. I can not force anyone to change but I hope that explaining the fallacy will help correct it.

I was just about to say that you forgot about the Pontiac Fiero. But I saw it in the outro. I have a 1984 Fiero SE, 4-speed manual. (F--K automatics!) It's not a powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination with it's 95 Hp, "Iron Duke". But with the manual, and it's super low C.O.G, direct feel and space-frame chassis it's still fun to drive, and quite zippy on a twisty road. Before haters start "flaming" the Fiero with "YeaH BuT It CaTchES FirE Durr hurr!" .. That was less than 1% of 84's, due to a bad batch of con-rods and owner error. Owner error being idiots thinking "Fiero" meant "Ferrari" and trying to whoop and rev the Iron dukes as if it were a sports car, and not properly maintaining the coolant. The duke is a heavy lump of a 4-banger and it does not like redline. But driven and maintained reasonably, it will last damn near forever. Overheated duke + bad rods + hole in crankcase and hot oil on exhaust = flames. My 84 was recalled and was equipped with proper con-rods and a detailed manual on how to properly maintain the coolant level.
