solid advice... I played a man in a local league... going into week 9 he was undefeated in singles 301 di/do... I beat him back to back, shooting a 9 darter, followed by an 11 darter... he not only didn't give the respect of a handshake/fist bump, but he actually stormed out of the bar swearing the whole time and threw his darts in a trash can on his way out... crazy stuff...

Yeah unfortunately there’s people out there like that, those are my favorite players to beat 😂

It's truly at least a 95% psychological game for me. A very valuable lesson was demonstrated in the Ton80 you threw at 1:45 (you were talking about prep / mind set tricks...lol)...the elimination of all stressors while hitting treb 20s by focusing on the conversation & at the same time , almost unconsciously locking your vision onto the target. Mastering that mind trick would make all of our dart games much quicker...lol. So, it's not just thinking or overthink when we miss, but also when we hit (I saw a previous video where you addressed this issue, it was very good message...treat it like it's expected, like it's no big deal). I really dig that you talk about the psych...that's definitely where I need help.

Sometimes I throw better when I’m recording talking than I do competitively lol so sometimes I’ll pretend I’m a recording a video while playing matches 😂

The mental aspect of the game is a real struggle for me(as well as my throw lol). Love your attitude towards darts and playing competitively. Great video, will do my best to incorporate this advice in future games. Ordered a book called "With winning in mind" by Lanny Bassham on the recommendation of another darts youtuber that deals with the mental side of sports competition. Look forward to future videos. Good luck this weekend, shoot well.

Awesome man I’ll have to look into that book too! Thanks!

I only play 401 right now. Double in/out I find if I've never played on the board then I need 45 minutes min just to do ok.

Great video. You seem to really want to help others, so Thank You! How do you workout/lift weights, and still practice darts?
@BullshotDarts2 жыл бұрын
Trying! Just want to see the sport grow and prosper! From a time perspective or physical? Time - gym after work, then randomly through the evening. Sometimes if I’m running low on time I’ll wake up early and practice in the morning. From the physical, I don’t lift heavy anymore. When I lift heavy my body is too beat up and it have a negative effect on my darts, so I lift lighter weights higher reps

Thank you for some useful information. What's up with your odd grip of the darts? How did you come up with that part of your game?
@BullshotDarts2 жыл бұрын
That’s one of my most common comments on my videos 😂 just the way my evolution has brought me to hold the dart, I’ll make a video on it someday!

Do you have any tips to improve counting? I’ve been playing for a while now and to improve the speed of my counting would help a lot for the other parts of my game.. 🇨🇦
@BullshotDarts2 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul! That is something that comes in time, it took me a while to fully get it too. My best advice would to focus on what you’re hitting as opposed to counting. So like if you hit a T20 T19 single 19, dont think about 60+57+19, just learn that that combo of darts is a 136. That’s how I approach all my “counting”

Why do I throw to the left when I'm try to throw straight
@BullshotDarts2 жыл бұрын
Probably a combination of your swing and follow through. Make sure your going straight back and straight forward and pointing at that trip 20
