In Sonic Colors are 80% 2D and 20% 3D.

In Generations Modern Sonic are 35% 2D and 65% 3D, but i no forgot, have Classic Sonic in Generations and this are 100% 2D. Most part of 2 best "3D" is 2D.

It kinda throws the thing of balance leave the 2D to classic because then the whole thing tilts to 2D and its not that I dislike the 2D I would just like to see it properly split.

Edward Hippisley-Cox Sonic 1, 2 & 3. CD & Sonic and knuckles were on par with the Mario games back in the day. Remember picking up Sonic in 91 and being blown away. It's a shame the series never hit the highs once it went 3D. This and Mania look to take the best bits from the era. I hope they do it justice.

You can argue that, sure if your preference is for Nintendo games. I owned both systems at the time and I remember it was regarded on equal footing - Sonic was the best platforming game on that system. Here's a scan of the actual review from 91 in Mean Machines (if it allows the link): www.meanmachinesmag.co.uk/pdf/sonicmd.pdf it's a multi platform publication so the bias was pretty good back then. They rated Mario World as well.

I was a Sega kid growing up. I had all the sonic games for the Mega Drive. Sonic and Knuckles is one of my all-time favourite games. *"Sonic was never good"* was famously uttered by one of the IGN employees.

Seems like Sonic's burst mode breaks the game while in the 3D running portions. It's easily recharged, has a huge charge bar, and allows you to run straight through at least a quarter of the level.

The best Sonic games ever made are those classics in Sega MegaDrive and the best od all time is Sonic Adventure 2 on Dreamcast, since then no Sonic game look as great as the old games and specially Sonic Adventure 2.
