January is fine . I can get chilli at night or mornings depending where you are. Not as busy as summer.

Uber is only really available in the San Juan area, beyond that you won't get service especially late at night. Also don't take a Uber to go places in the mountains or beaches beyond San Juan cause you probably won't find anyone to take you back.

Uber is every place in PR but there is a difference between "Zona Metropolitana" and "Isla". It's not true that is hard to find Uber. I take it frecuently with no problem. Also in the Met. Area there are a bus system, a train and other public transportation System. On the other hand, out of the tourist area, there are safe comunities. Other point is the way we dress. We don't dress like if we were in the beach. We have a developed and modern Country. We have our city and modern life style and do the same thing. Go to the office, doctors, college, schools, supermarket, a full theatre play's World, concerts, Malls and everything that anyone does on the cities. Nothing is exotic and yes is full of history and culture.

@@normagonzalez7470 perdona pero Uber no funciona fuera del area metro y solo en ciertas areas, pide un Uber para muchas areas y especialmente de noche te vas a quedar esperando pues nadie te va a buscar. he visto turistas que se quedan varados en playas y lugares en las montañas pues no consiguen a nadie que los traiga de vuelta, yo he tenido que darle pon de vuelta al area metro a una pareja que se quedo varada en Manati.

Puerto Rican GPS giving directions: Mira Jibaro, go down there where they are frying that Lechon and make a right. Then, pa que sepa, make a right at the Hector Lavoe statue. After that me cago en na, you will make a left when you get to the guy that looks like Bad Bunny who is selling coco. Then, If I remember I will tell you the rest of the directions If I remember. GPS Out !!

Thank you! Coming to PR on the 7th to the 14th. From MN. We have a car rented, staying at a beachhouse in Augullia. Not staying in San Juan. Excited for the food! Heard light clothes, hat and sun screen a must. I have an umbrella! Anything else else we should know, do, explore and see? Want warmth!

If you have never been to PR I do suggest you go to San Juan to “old San Juan”because that is a must . I just don’t think one should stay stuck in the Capital only. Crash boat beach in Aguadilla is a must, I have a video on that. I also have a video of a hidden beach in Aguadilla if you want to hike. Should also visit beaches in Rincón and the light house there. Another town is Cabo Rojo , my home town , the beaches there are great (also have videos in Cabo Rojo). Have a fun trip. Isabela and Arecibo are beautiful towns as well. There is so much to see everywhere but it depends that kind of activities and environment you prefer.

@@AnaSantapau We were at the Fort in Old San Juan briefly about 20 years, my husband and I were in PR when we were on a cruise, but did not spend a lot of time there. Just flew in and out of San Juan. So, we wanted to stay out of San Juan and found a place in Anguilla right on the beach! Going to check out Rincon, Ponce and Cabo Rojo is on our list too. We do plan to explore around and also check out all the food, and plan on dining out in the evening. We are not big hikers but would also like to go to the rainforest. So, looking for good place to eat and explore in the area!

Great video. Should have mentioned renting a car outside the airport area is cheaper and insurance should highly be considered. The parking facility in San Juan? The one under El Morro. Unfortunately , young people today in the USA are completely geographically challenged , they have no idea that PR is about the size of Connecticut or Mass. , not like tiny islands like St Lucia or the VI . Ive known people who visited Old San Juan thinking they explored all of PR , its an epidemic . My stomping grounds are in Aguadilla and West so air travel is easy , I only fly to San Juan if visiting that area , Ponce is another choice , people need to read up and plot their plans carefully .

yo vivi 20 años en NY y llevo 19 años viviendo en Puerto Rico y tiene toda la razon es mejor evitat que lamentar La Perla o muchas otras zonas podra estar tranquila pero tambien hay momentos q podra estar caliente y mo sera divertido uno encontrarse entre tiroteos de dos bandos en el cual mas bien pagan inocentes si viajas a disfrutas es mejor que vangan poniendo su seguridad como prioridad

Something that I will add is that many Americans underestimate the high criminality in P.R. The main reason why is because tourists stay in San Juan or Ponce and ventured via a cruise ship. So, these people believe that the comfort in the resorts will be experienced throughout the island.
