The thing about Lasse Vigen Christensen is he (along with McCormack and Rodellega) single handedly dragged us out of relegation to league 1 with such a poor team, he got injuries and played through them to keep us up which obviously came at the detrement of his career. Really sad what happened to him because at that young age he manned the midfeild by himself and took the piss out of teams when he was really on it for a team that really should've gone down. Deserves alot more credit for his contribution for getting us back to a posistion where we're fight to get in/stay in the prem

Hello Alfie! Actually, there's at least one current player who has been capped more times than Milner and Fer at youth international level: Lee O'Connor. According to FAI data, he has won a total amount of 76 youth caps for the Republic of Ireland, and recently they even made a special video to celebrate the milestone. [There, they counted 75 caps, but that was before the match against Italy U-21s.] He also won a senior cap for the Irish national team, and at 22 years old he's currently playing in League Two for Tranmere, so maybe there's still some time for him to add to that tally!

I wonder if it would be of interest to cover the influence of football on Karol Józef Wojtyła who later became Pope John Paul II? And six other people who took to the cloth, having first touched the turf? There’s an array of Religious leaders who’ve found football another thing to do with their ‘day of rest’? That is not including the 80’s movement the Athletes of Christ, who were footballers who thought they’d found God. But merely found a Brazilian goalie called Gomez. You may use (or there again may not chose not to pay for) the tune by Billy Bragg “God’s Footballer” and make reference to the fact that so many young footballers are openly demonstrating a faith, that every major club has a Chaplain. Even the teams have ‘churchy’ backstories: just look at how well St. Mark’s FC have done nowadays (before looking them up try to guess who I’m talking about)! And those links are consistent across continents with social teams coming from the Hebrew, Muslim, Mormon, Quaker and other faiths. PS: See if you can do it and not be tempted to include Liverpool goalie Alisson Becker baptising Roberto Firmino in a swimming pool. Nope, nor could I. Good luck and enjoy the research.

I’m not religious but that’s a great suggestion. I completely forgot about PJPII, the Holy Goalie! Since jt and the current period name one cheksea youth graduate thats made it at a top club and chelsea should regret selling?

Christensen, Livramento/ Lamptey (both better backups than an ageing Azpi), Ake (apparently they want to buy him back from City now), Guehi. And technically Declan Rice used to be in the Chelsea academy so you can count him.
@joehunt3902 жыл бұрын
@@areebsiddiqui758 🤣🤣🤣 Literally all you have listed have come through the youth ranks in the current generation.... Both right backs you mentioned left because they were behind James and didn't see themselves getting ahead of him, literally both were sold because they would have left in frees. Also livramento has a buyback clause.... Christensen left on a free as we were sanctioned and couldn't offer new contracts to current players, if said sanctions never came in, more than a good chance he is still at the club and wasn't that the club wanted him to go. Ake isn't even that good and was nothing more than a squad player at city, I personally hope we don't resign him! He has played 40 games in 2 seasons at city averaging 70ish minutes a game and will.be more likely to be another lukaku and we will regret bringing him back..... city literally played fernandinho a midfielder by trade ahead of him at times Guehi, he has ahd a decent season at palace but again he is a recent graduate that has come up in same time as mount, James, etc As for rice, he was kicked out of the club at 14, so no one could have predicted how good he would become. They literally can't keep everyone its as much a guessing game as the lottery and again came through at the same time as mount...... Literally everyone you have said has come through with the current crop we have mount, James, etc apart from ake Also again apart from ake none of the mentioned players are playing at a top club and ake is hardly playing mostly warming the bench, 40 games in 2 seasons is probably looking at around a third of the games the team played

Man u No one currently, maybe could have said rashford bjt his form has dropped, maybe could have said the guy u can't speak about, but he is unlikely to play anytime soon. Arsenal Saka and Smith-rowe but one could argue that the fact (mainly smith-rowe) are stars shows the weakness of arsenals squad. Tottenham Kane, that's it Chelsea Mount and James possibly can add Gallagher if he stays and secures a first regular starting spot, he definitely was a star player for palace last season. Liverpool Taa City Foden Their might be other players that are youth products at said clubs bjt they aren't stars. So you are pretty much looking at one or 2 star players from each academy Gone are the days of class of 92 where you have half a team come through and even then majority where not really star players, maybe one could say Giggs, scholes and Beckham! "Andrea Pirlo did alright in senior games". I'm not sure about that. I've seen Andrea Pirlo as DM, and he's by far the worst DM of all times, if you think of DM in classical terms

In traditional ‘destroyer’ terms such as Makelele and Kante, I see your point. But there’s different kinds of DM. Pirlo converted from a 10 to a 6 as a deep lying playmaker in the classical Italian Regista role, as were other successful exponents such as Paulo Sousa, Xavi etc. Gattuso was his ‘tackling’ support. Then there’s the pivot DM role as a hybrid, Xabi Alonso and Busquets etc. Oh for the days when you were simply a midfielder and that was it 😂

@@Shades-of-76 Gattuso was his "tackling" support. Well that's a little bit of understatement. Gattuso played every game like it was some kind of war and he was the to defend

@@Shades-of-76 But to add. I think it would be a great story for the great people at HITC Sevens to explain how the DM-role have evolved. From the great Makele to the maestro Pirlo

I used to love these videos but just can’t stand the way he talks, really false and practised, just irritating to listen to
