I’ve heard that sprinkling cinnamon on seeds can help prevent mold growth. Is there any truth to that?

The length of the day affects plants. Not just the heat and strength of the sun . So if your plants grow closer to the equator, they will need a lot more length of daylight, or grow light. Also some seeds and roots have a built in timer to keep them from germinating in the middle of the winter during a short thaw.

Papaya plant.. you replant it in very similar sizes pots, and you pulled apart? Idk seems like there is a lot of things that you do that aren't things that I would do. Been growing a ton of things over 50 years. Im just confused. Am I doing something right or wrong? Who knows.....

You’ve really inspired me to try growing food from seeds that I get in my food. Right now, I have a Granny Smith Apple seedling and a bunch of baby red dragon fruit seedlings, the ones with the white flesh. I just lost my dog last week, so I haven’t done much with my seeds, but check them. They are in damp paper towels in ziplock bags under the kitchen sink. I have a lot of Gala, Fuji, and Pink Lady apple seeds that have germinated that I need to plant. I have yellow dragon fruit seeds to plant, I think I have strawberry seeds, it’s hard to tell. I sliced them thin and let them dry and tried to get the seeds out. I’ve tried planting thin slices of strawberries with the seeds, but nothing happened. I’m trying to get tamarind and Meyer lemon seeds to germinate, but no luck yet. I have 4 avocado seeds germinating right now. My first one died. I’m planning to have a raised bed garden for the first time this year. I’m going to attempt to grow different types of sweet potatoes, potatoes, and I definitely want to grow some good homegrown tomatoes. I have a question. The gnats in Georgia are really bad this year, for some reason. They are in my dragon fruit container. Will they hurt my dragon fruit babies? Any tips on getting tamarind, lemons, and plum seeds to grow? Oh, I also cut into a tomato I was going to use in guacamole, but it was growing inside. All the seeds were germinating. I sliced the tomato into slices and buried in under a thin layer of dirt, but nothing is growing. My passion fruit seeds didn’t grow either and they are hard to get here. I did see rambutans at the store, but didn’t get them. The next time I went, I wanted to get them, but I couldn’t find any. Where do you find your exotic fruit? I’ve looked online, but it’s SO expensive. I also want a monstera deliciosa plant that has the potential to grow fruit. Is there a specific type of monstera plant? I don’t know much about plants. I’m trying to get another pineapple top to grow. The last 2 rotted and got stinky, even though I did it the way I had grown them before. I’m hoping this one will work. I had a beautiful pineapple plant that I started at from the store and actually grew a small pineapple! Its was SO sweet and SO good. My ex husband killed my plant, which pissed me off because I had it for several years. It was so pretty and big. I was so proud of it. It’s time to have another one.
