I was born in Lisbon my father was Portuguese my mother Spaniard my dad died and my mom she went back to Madrid Spain when I was 6 months old grew up in beautiful Madrid. When I was 18 met a american military station in the base of Torrejon in the 1963 got married1965 when I was 20 live there three more years after we move to the United States. Took me awhile to get used the life in the United States, travel in the military to different beautiful states. We have been living in the beautiful North West in the State of Washington the Seattle area since 1973. I have been back in Spain 7 times. I love the United States my experience in the USA has been great my husband's family are from South Dakota wonderful people ,some of them pass away I became a widow young my husband passed away at the age of 45 from cancer. We have three children and four grandchildren one great granddaughter .I am an American citizen but are things that you always will miss from your mother country. Thank you .God bless you both and your beautiful young daughters.😘❤❤❤❤👏 .

I personally prefer Mediterranean beaches because their water is usually hotter, maybe not so noticeable in Malaga that is still very near to the Atlantic Ocean, but from Granada beaches to the north, that when you visit those areas (Cádiz and Huelva are closer to Sevilla, of course) you will notice. It is rare that you did not mention "Jamón" cheeses, meats, with less estrange things inside, and fresh food vs USA processed food and additives and meats with hormones. Also, the diversity of cultures inside Spain where almost every region is like a different country, some with their own languages.

From your experience, would transitioning a child from US junior high into a Spanish high school be shocking for the child? Do they give language learning support? We have lived in various parts of the world and are well traveled, but we've been back in the States now for several years.

Hey thanks for watching! Great question but that would depend on the personality of your child. It’s a critical and sensitive time for children at the age. There may be a bit of a culture shock with middle and high schoolers. However nothing is impossible to overcome. May we suggest you ask your child how he/she feels about a possible move if y’all haven’t done so already?
