Nice video..I mainly got a Curve blue card after getting a new phone that can only be unlocked by Face ID, so using Apple Pay became a pain in the neck with a face mask on. I use my Curve card now as my main payment method and have Apple Pay as backup, don't bring my other cards with me anymore.

Hi Lan, you would just pay the 3.99 Euros 👍 They don't add any fees. They have changed some things recently meaning for the free version of Curve you can only add 2 bank cards. I will make a new video on this, so please sub and tick the bell if you'd like to see that.

Hi Simon, thanks. Yes, what looks like some difficult news from Curve yesterday - please see my pinned comment and for anyone else wanting more detail I have re-tweeted Curves announcement (@MergeDroid over there on Twitter). As I mention in the pinned comment there are still some decent advantages on the different levels they offer, but if your personal focus is on linked cards (as it will be for many) and you NEED more than two cards you will have to consider a paid tier of £4.99 per month for 5 cards *(existing members being offered this for £1.99 per month for the first year)* or Curve Black at £9.99 a month offering unlimited cards. There's also Curve Metal at £15.99 a month offering unlimited cards too and other benefits. In your case I think you have to look at how many linked cards you really need/use on a regular basis - would doing a year at £1.99 a month (check your email from yesterday) be worth it for you to have 5 cards? After this maybe it's final decision time? Please consider a sub and ticking the bell if you want to see further updates and maybe see what you make of the rest of the channel's content - mainly budget tech.

I think it's a case of having to look at the benefit you've had for free for a number of years (hopefully) and consider that in the new cost....that's how I try and look at it. good video, question do these transaction take longer showing up on your cards? say I use curve instead of my debit card - normally if I use my debit card and the transaction is there in minutes on my bank app - if using curve will this take allot longer to show up? if so how much longer?

Thanks, glad you found the video valuable, please do give it a 'like' if so. The transactions show up immediately, I get an app alert. If I have alerts set on the underlying credit card or debit card I get these at the same time. Occasionally the email receipt takes a bit longer to come through, but usually very quick. A quick question, if we return an item back to a store and get refund, does it go back the same card we sent with or can we chose where the refund goes?

Hi George, a good question. Curve will do all they can to match it to the card you paid with, these days they are pretty good at doing that automatically. If they can't match it sometimes they refund it to your Curve cash card - this can be even better as like having cash in the bank if you have Revolut and following my video here to withdraw your Curve cash to your bank account - kzbin.infoIs2Z0cVtD44 Hope this helps? In short I've never had any issues with refunds, always had it back to the original card or to my Curve cash card. It sometimes takes a couple of days extra than I think it would do if you were using a card directly.

Hi, similar in one way but review all the other advantages I list, how many can Apple Pay match? For example you can't use ANY Mastercard or Visa with Apple Pay (only supported), you can't go back in time and move transactions from one card to another, you won't get cashback, you won't save when spending abroad etc etc.

I'm confused by the back in time feature. If I make a purchase on one card, then go back in time to another bank card, do they both get charged?

Hi Rob, no problem. No, it 'moves the charge' from one card to the other by refunding you in the initial card, then charging you on the new card. Thanks for the video. Do you whether Curve will charge me if I am going to use my Physical HSBC Bank debit card (linked with Blue Curve Card) and withdraw £300 from a foreign ATM.

No problem. You mean you will use the physical Curve card, with your HSBC card linked to it, right? The foreign ATM limit for the free card is £200 a month so there would be a charge beyond this. Their website says... "For purchases and ATM withdrawals made abroad with Curve, we do the currency exchange for you at a wholesale rate and don't add any additional fees. There are certain limits on the amount up to which you can make fee-free transactions or ATM withdrawals, after which charges will apply: Curve (previously: Curve Blue) (free) - Spend up to £/€1000 per month fee-free. There's a 2% fee for any more spend. Withdraw up to £/€200 per month from foreign ATMs. There's a 2% fee or a £/€2 charge (whichever is higher) for any further withdrawals."

@@MergeDroid Thank you for your reply :) Sorry, what I am trying to ask: Will Curve charge me if I am going to use my HSBC card that is linked with Curve Blue? I have two cards at the moment 1) Curve Blue card 2) HSBC debit card I understand that I can only take £/€200 per month from foreign ATMs using Curve Blue. But what if I am going to take £/€300 per from foreign ATMs using my HSBC card? Not the Curve Blue card. But it is linked with Curve Blue account... Will Curve Charge me despite I am not using their card?

Thanks. So you're simply going to use a physical card (HSBC one in this case) that you have associated to your Curve account but totally separately, the 'old fashioned way'. If you do this Curve have no way of knowing about any of the transaction so couldn't charge you. Hope that makes sense, if I've misunderstood again, just say.

Yes, they've got no way to know you're using your card in the regular way. They will only know about transactions that use the Curve card.

What happens after the 1% cashback period? Do you get a smaller percentage?

Hi Davide - that depends, .....if you have the free Blue card there is no lower level of cashback, but you can refer a friend yourself and if they sign up you'll get another 30 days of 1% cashback (as will they). You will also still get the specific retailer offers if rolled out in your region. If you have one of the paid versions of the card you can get cashback at a select number of retailers (Black card = 1% at 3 retailers of your choice and for Metal that goes up to 6 retailers of your choice. I don’t understand what the advantage is when being “Curve Fronted” would result in a 1.5% charge over and above. That’s the opposite of cash back. What’s the point?

Curve Fronted is for set types of transactions, like paying HMRC for your taxes, that would usually have a much higher fee if you used your credit card directly. They used to be completely free via Curve, but they introduced Curve Fronted to deal with these types of more unique payments and introduce a fee, albeit a small one. Hope that helps?

No problem, glad to help clear it up. For example, I've been using Curve for years and never once made a Curve Fronted transaction as just never had the need too. Some people really like it for saving when they pay HMRC etc though.

Hi Gazza, Curve is for the UK and countires in the EEA (in Euros), including Cyprus, so you can sign up and enjoy the benefits. They are looking to expand to other countries too, including the US....let's see if that happens this year!

Do you know when is 500€ limit for transactions in different currency reseted? It's 1 per month but when? 1. Day in month or from card issue, or from 1. Payment? It's not visible in the app and I need to know, so I don't have to pay 2% fee. Thank u!!!

Good question! It's not obvious from anything I can see. I might suggest judge it by your 'spent this month' total under one of your cards, as you can see when the first transaction for one of those was. Does that help?

I have a question you didn't mention I'm new to this I want to know how to use the limits on mine it says upto £1,500,000 I don't think this is right I'm getting the card next week would I be able to spend anything on this card and not have to worry about paying anything back and would it affect my credit score?

Hi Chloe, thanks for checking the video. Remember Curve is just directing spend to one of your existing cards, so it's the limit on those you'd need to consider and of course continue to pay off. Hope that helps.
