@@Chad_Eldridge as it is, there's basically no reason to get all 900 other than to get all 900. Seriously, you never need to hunt out koroks in the game unless you want to get all slots or 900 koroks. You get enough for about 2/3 of the slots naturally, just taking koroks as you notice them. Here's a creepy little secret I discovered while replaying the Wind Waker a few years ago: If you shoot a Redead with an arrow while they are sitting in the fettle position,' it won't do any damage and the redead won't get up to search for you. Instead, the Redead will just look straight at you before returning to their idle state! Freaked me out when I first discovered this. It's like they know you were the one who shot them, but the fact that they react by turning their head to look at you just gets to me for some reason. Finding this out in the Earth Temple, one of Zelda's scariest dungeons, only made this even creepier to me... I'm actually not sure if this is considered a secret or not, but I haven't seen anyone talk about it... Either way it's a small creepy detail.

A similar thing happens in OOT, if you kill a redead when there is a pair of them, the alive redead will walk over to the dead one and go into the fetal position. After a few seconds, it will jerk it’s head at link and freeze him instantly with the redead scream. It’s like he’s angry that link just killed his friend. It’s Also freaking terrifying.
@Joseekins3 жыл бұрын

@@storewideboss6910 Jesus, that can actually happen? I know that Redeads will gather around one that you killed (some fans don't seem to know if they're mourning or cannibalizing it), but this occurs if there were only two of them? And it just freezes you all the way from across the room? @Alex Rossler Art Maybe in comparison to every Zelda dungeon there is, I might put the Earth Temple up there as one of the scariest, though honestly, it seems pretty mild compared to the Shadow Temple or Bottom of the Well. I guess part of it is because Wind Waker's art design in general manages to make anything and everything look bright and colorful (even the Redeads, which seem downright pleasant compared to their original, low-resolution N64 incarnations), but there's also the fact that the Earth Temple manages to have several wide, open chambers that let in natural light (which you typically utilize for puzzles). Hell, even the name conveys something different. "Shadow Temple" refers to darkness, a large yet restricting catacomb that's stained by both a bloodied history and the dark powers of an enraged, evil spirit which just recently escaped its confinement. "Earth Temple" is..... well, earth. It's pretty much a large, underground cavern that just happened to have a few corpses buried there. The place even manages to be occupied by some of Ganondorf's "living" soldiers like Moblins.

One 'secret' I found in the GameCube version of this game was on the submarines you can find scattered around the oceans - or perhaps more precisely, in the configuration of rooms used to house the monsters inhabiting the submarine. The room containing the chest reward for clearing the monsters always contains a Sun-shaped mask on the wall, right above the chest. It usually has a frowning, disinterested face. As it turns out, the Ghost Ship also uses this configuration - with a bit of fog rolling in and a whole host of ghost monsters as you pointed out. But here things get a litte strange. Indeed, this Sun Mask has a crazed expression smiling eerily, with all teeth showing. The kicker? If you try to look at it directly using Link's point of view (using the C-pas on a GameCube controller), it will revert to the frowning, disinterested face when near the center of the point of view... Only to change back when you don't look at it directly. Still sends shivers down my back when I think about it.

I'll never forget the first time I played through all of Wind Waker. I had made it to the Triforce hunt section. I had recently recovered the Ghost Chart map from the Ship Graveyard. I had gone out to a nearby island - one that I believe had a minigame on it that I played until nightfall. When I saw the moon in the sky, I checked it against the chart to find out where I could find the Ghost Ship that night... And I realized that based on the phase of the moon...the Ship was due to appear on the very island that I was on at that very moment... Putting the chart away, I slowly looked out into the waters offshore...and there it was. It was an absolutely _perfect_ moment of serendipity; I wish I had a capture-card at the time, as I don't think I'll ever be able to replicate it so perfectly.

I did not know that All-Purpose Bait worked on any enemy except for rats. I did know about grappling Hearts from Zelda, but never had a need to. Grandma's Soup, a Fairy, and a Blue Potion or two are more than enough for any challenge in the game. Never made the connection between the pots and Triforce shards. I just assumed that it was something you could randomly pull up if you missed your target anywhere in the Great Sea. I think some other channel covered Jabun's scream before. I certainly remember learning about it on KZbin but can't remember where. Japanese arguing is a very amusing TIL. Bombs were the first thing I tried against Stalfos. I also discovered the nun-chuck arm when I though that taking its mace away would make it less dangerous (how wrong I was). I would have lost it if the Savage Labyrinth rewarded 10 rupees in our version. That's on par with Hestu's Gift for reward value with the only difference being that I knew about the 900 Korok reward in advance before I set out to do it anyways.

A lot of these I somehow missed even though The Winder Waker is probably my most played Zelda game. Awesome video.

Fun fact: you can jump attack on treasure chests and the opening animation will be delayed. But if you do that on the Pirate Ship chest, the game will crash
@GamingKingdom915 ай бұрын
Game: ill wait till the animations done :> Ship: nah..imma cause a crash and sink..no treasure for yooouuu!~

RuneScape music when talking about the pots and octoroks. 10/10 peak content right here

I remember the Octopus pot, when I first played the game way back I remember finding it only once and couldn't replicate how I did it. And at the time I couldn't find anything about it on the internet either. I almost convinced myself it didn't happen. I'm glad more people are getting to know about that small detail.

Shoulda mentioned how Gohma actually heals from Light Arrows. Crazy oversight that requires glitches to see, but its still really neat

Someday I hope to play this game. I've heard a lot about it, and what I've heard makes it a good candidate for my new favorite Zelda game.

This was a great video! I learned some things even I didn't know! (I honestly consider myself an almost-complete master at this game.) Didn't know about the all-purpose bait being used against Ganon and didn't know about getting hearts from Zelda. You're the very FIRST KZbinr I've ever come across to mention the Octorok pots! I thought I was completely alone in ever experiencing that! I didn't know you could only accidentally pull one up when searching for the Triforce shards. I've only pulled one up once and it was years ago. Until today, I've always wondered how the hell that happened and what exactly did I find? Lol It looks so freaky. It looks as if there are eyes on it!!!! I also did't know about the Stelfos using their arm if you grab their weapon. I've got to hook up my old GameCube and play now lol.

7:44 I burst out laughing, the japanese roughly translates to "you got a yellow rupee worth 10! eh? thats it...." I love it when things are like, not worthwhile but the game makes a joke out of it xD

When you mentioned the Stalfos design in The Wind Waker, I am surprised that you did not mention its close resemblance to one of Igos du Ikana's soldiers, at least in terms of its head.

That clip of grandma fighting is awesome. And I love the stuff about the ghost ship. Although you didn't mention the stuff on the walls... Don't remember exactly what, but it had me wondering if the ghost ship is the ghost of Tetra's mother's ship.
