Just be aware of what you're doing and why you're doing it in the moment. Exercise self-discipline to catch yourself and become the person you want to be... It takes self-awareness, healthy and productive self-criticism, discipline and drive to change in real time. It gets exponentially easier each time you do, at least for me~

Honestly, I don't expect romantic relationship anymore because I feel it as a, 1. Threat 2. Beginning of manipulation (Ex:- Borukari (Daddy) - You might need a translation for this) 3. Beginning of loosing what I gained even if they're the best. 4. Transmitting my mental illnesses.

Lack of communication from me is an attempt to protect myself from someone that ALWAYS sees everything I say as some sort of negative judgement. I can say "The truck needs an oil change." I am somehow judging, demanding, bitchy, or something. If I spend 80 dollars on an oil change because I didn't ask him to spend 15 minutes to do it, I don't get yelled at though...but now he spent 6 hours working to pay for it. I tried to explain this, but I'm just a bitch...so paying someone else is the way to go.

Naturally so, Luvgraft. A lack of communication could never be a friend because a _LACK_ is not a sentient being to begin with. Furthermore, a lack of communication alone is NOT manipulative -- it's simply a character flaw. It's _DECEPTIVE_ communication that is manipulative.

I was him to be hard-working with our future together but instead do nothing but use me for his own needs😢. I've finally realized that he'll never change, so I left him. Now, he's in the mental hospital and he still calls me every day, even when I ignored his calls. If you're going through the same thing as I did, just left them, cause you deserve better.

This is what happened between me and my wife, I’m not sure where we went wrong, we are separated now… I’m not going to blame her for all of it because I’m guilty too, that’s where I went wrong, but I can only control myself. I can grow, and become healthier. I can fix myself. The toxicity had to stop though, the separation was necessary for both of us to heal and grow… this has been one of the toughest times in my life. Good friends and family have made it easier. The only thing I know for certain is that I’ve grown dramatically since we separated… I don’t know if that can save my marriage… but I can’t focus on that now, I can only get healthier and work on myself.

I think my girlfriend may have a codependency personality disorder but I’m not positive. How can I help her in a positive way? She refuses therapy for her mental issues and I’ve become her therapist of sorts instead. She gives off some signs like always saying yes to me, when I ask her what she wants to do or where to go she just says whatever I want is good, she prefers to listen to me and have me order her around rather than her give me suggestions on things. She is very submissive to me. If she feels that she upset me or hurt me even slightly she has a panic attack and her mind goes black and she is mentally distraught to the extreme, so I have to give her lots of words of comfort to cheer her up and calm her down. She likes to keep saying how I am like a saint and she doesn’t deserve me and I try to convince her otherwise but to no avail.

At this point what’s even the point of dating? Between having to “project” yourself a certain way to get noticed and all of this extra including my “favorite” line; what’s your red flag? Let’s not get started about the whole money thing. Get that everyone is cautious but things seemed a lot simpler about 10-14 years back. I am so good and happy with just being myself. I’m 28 going on 29 and I’m grateful enough to just have a place of my own and two of the greatest friends I could ever ask for. Sorry for going on a rant like this but the way relationships took a whole 180 from what’s supposed to be something beautiful bothers me.

With this video showing me the signs, it appears I really did the right thing for the both of us. I broke up with my ex 3 years ago and turns out, it was already a dark intimacy even on its 6th month. It should not have lasted for extra 4 more years. With that in mind, perhaps i could still open myself to better relationships. Maybe my first gf was just a lesson for the future. Thank you Psych2Go!! ❤

It's a bit of a misnomer to put the words "dark" and _"intimacy"_ in the same place for one terminology, isn't it?
@snowarmth
@snowarmth 26 күн бұрын
Right... I think the use of the word "intimacy" here is there to be charitable towards the audience. If the title said emotional abuse, it would get less clicks, as people don't identify as abusers, and the people who do probably aren't here... The use of the word "intimacy" in a new term makes a person curious, and questioning if there is a term for their brand of love. It slips past their shield, really. There's also the trend of using the word Dark before things. Dark Psychology, Dark Empath, Dark Intimacy... It's just cool and new, you know? People are interested in that. So there ya go. XD
@DLCOrganization
@DLCOrganization 26 күн бұрын
Ah. I see you are of the New Age mindset. Either that or you are trolling big-time. Nevertheless, it's time for a burning hot reality check,@@snowarmth. 1) Dark psychology DOES exist and has existed for the longest time. This is especially prevalent in what Psych2Go has coined "dark empaths" -- the most deceptive of manipulators. The only reason the term "dark empath" even makes sense is because people can pretend to be empathic. You CANNOT _pretend_ to be intimate in terms of romance and compassionate expression. This is basically another version of their recent "obsessive love" video, as it describes warning signs of toxic, controlling, overbearing, and/or similar NON-INTIMATE behaviors in a romantic relationship. 2) Helping people improve their mental health and/or awareness is _NOT_ about what is "cool and new", but rather about what is _INFORMATIVE_ and (most importantly) _HELPFUL._ The Psych2Go KZbin channel is literally one of the LARGEST channels ON KZbin with an overall formula that -- in spite of certain biases and the occasional inevitable flaws -- has proven to be _AMAZINGLY successful_ in itself LONG BEFORE Psych2Go started their trend of coining these new "dark ______" terminologies. Psych2Go has proven they do not have to be "trendy" or be "charitable toward the audience" by replacing or redefining SIMPLE time-honored words and terms that have been spoken by psychologists, mental health therapists and representatives the world over for decades upon decades. If the words "emotional abuse" were in one of their video titles, it would get MORE clicks, because their target audience _CAN RELATE_ to the subject matter and are, for the most part, seeking out help or reassurance. And it doesn't matter whether or not some of the audience identifies as an abuser. As much as P2G addresses various area of psychology (which is _constant),_ what makes you think there would NOT be a slew of abusers watching these videos? -- You can bet your last cent, they most certainly are. However, on somewhat of an optimistic yet realistic note, it is quite possible that a small minority of them, at the least, have used the videos they've seen as the mirror they need to start them on the path to redemption and self-improvement.
@snowarmth

Oh, no.. Please don't get the wrong idea lol. I know dark psychology is legitimate. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who disrespects the validity of psychology commenting as much as I do here. I meant using the term Dark before a psychological term is part of an ongoing trend, therefore it would attract more people as it's a hot topic~ Considering their channel is primarily themed around healing, and most of their fan base including me come from abusive environments, I find it odd you think I'd claim their whole concept to be "cool and new". Noo.. that's not what I was saying at all. Their work is profound and helpful. It's so weird how oddly you interpreted what I wrote.. but it's fine. I apologize for being vague.

@@Psych2go I might be wrong as I never actually been there but for me (as a dreamer) relationship is like a mutual understanding between two persons which is based on truth, trust and respect towards each other. A state without any conditions where one accepts you for what you are no matter what, and walks with you the entire life... Yeah! Indeed I am lost and out of my mind officially. But honestly, is it too much to ask?

@Psych2go To me, it means to love, cherish, experience, fight, care, provide, protect, and be there with another person for a very long time while they do the same for you You're essentially Starting a new life with that person if everything works out well. But one thing, two partners must agree on one thing, especially if it comes to doing certain activities. A relationship is built on love, trust, intimacy, and care for the most part so when there's animosity or struggle then it will just come apart. Finding the right person for you I feel like is the simplest yet hardest thing to do nowadays.

Can you guys please do a video on BDSM and the boundaries of dark intimacy versus sadomasochism? ❤
@beeankha
@beeankha 21 күн бұрын
Well BDSM is generally like a role play. There's a difference between normal life and doing a scene. There's a lot of communication beforehand about consent, safe words, and aftercare afterwards. The same signs I guess would indicate that someone is being manipulative rather than healthy in their interactions. Consent, communication, healthy boundaries, awareness of needs, all important.

@@Psych2go Thank you for the like. I do appreciate the mention for having healthy emotional attachments since there has been so much confusing pressure to just go at it. I’ve stumbled a lot in relationships due to these mix messages and how often I’ve never been ready to just go at it. That is a symptom of the past when I was in college, the ads made emotionless sex the norm and there was a lot of pressure to have it. Edit: people may not like the last season of the Umbrella Academy but it shows a very healthy growing romantic relationship. The most reassuring one I’ve ever seen in pretty much all of television. Great Stuff, as always!
