Taylor Beckwith “but we’re expected to just get over it” because more than likely your parents and their parents just got over it - it’s what they know. Now that doesn’t mean they are right but it doesn’t mean they are wrong. The key is psychology convinced parents to raise kids (like you) with participation trophies, you having a say in your punishments, timeouts, finding value in all that you do, not keeping score, etc. This caused children to be unable to deal with stress (most not all). So it’s not your fault, but you need to figure out a way to improve your abilities. I am someone who lives an extremely high stress life yet none of these things apply because I am wired (and that was my parents and environment as a start and then my development) to handle this. You can too and I would suggest you need to build these skills.

Everyone whos going through this: it’s ok. It will get better. Find what comforts you, find what you like. Find somebody who you love and when you are with eachother, it feels better. Does not always need to be a significant other, it can be a pet, friend or a family member, then also your partner. Do what makes you feel happy and better, or talk about it (I’m always here for a start) just so you know, it’s ok. You’ll be alright. Do what you love and what makes you happy. Make sure you take breaks if you’re stressed. The breaks will help you. but don’t push everything behind or you will be more stressed. there will always be something/someone that can help you ❤️

@SirPhysics4 жыл бұрын
@Jonathan Neufeld Speaking as a teacher, a lot of the blame for that in the modern educational system is the push for "accountability" in the form of standardized tests a la No Child Left Behind or its successor Every Child Succeeds Act. It's incredibly difficult to write a multiple choice test which can be given to every student in a state which tests how to think. Some teachers really are trying, but the system is generally against us.

Burnout is becoming an epidemic. Our bodies were simply not designed to undergo the amount of stress and pressure that most people deal with on a day to day basis. Most people spend the majority of their lives in survival mode, not ever fully resting or getting their physical or emotional needs really met. It’s so important that we begin to take much better care of ourselves, and to learn to slow down and only include things in our lives that truly add value and hold true importance. It’s ok to step back sometimes or rest when you need to. Know how deeply you matter and that by taking care of yourself, you are able to offer your best self to the world and begin to enjoy life and not just endure it. I recently made a video on this topic. Be good to yourselves, beautiful souls! ♥️ Happy new year!

When they mentioned temper tantrums I knew something was wrong. This happens so often with me. Once I got one single question wrong and my grade was dropping in one of my best classes I would LOSE IT. I would throw stuff, slam things, etc. My mom had to hold me down once for me to stop. I want to talk to someone but my family says I’m fine and to stop worrying about it. I am in constant worry and stress it’s not easy to stop it and I’m starting to get snappy with others more than I usually do.

I can relate to pretty much all of these and I really have known something was off for a while. I just didn’t really know what it was. My mental state has been rolling down hill for around 4 or 3 years now. It really started with motivation. I just stopped having enough energy and little to no motivation to do anything even the things I loved. A little after my grades started falling I came from an all A’s student to barely scraping by. Then I stopped properly taking care of myself the main thing is eating. There where some days I would not eat and when my parents made dinner I would take it to my room set it down and about an hour later put the food in the fridge for someone else. I have also had problems with sleeping, self hygiene/care, My social life, being disorganized, and paranoia. I have really kinda given up on expressing my emotions as well. I do realize that it wasn’t the best decision but I don’t know what else to do. I feel like I have been backed into a corner with no where left to go. I have tried to get myself back on track but I can’t figure out how. At this point I am not even sure what has gone wrong. My life has just become a complete mess.

Honestly it is good advice, they could be more specific and practical with it but destressing is very healthy, pls try meditation it clears your mind and helps you focus on what YOU want to think about not your brain running away on anxious tangents. Also medication can do wonders, any anxiety medicine is very helpful but can take a few weeks to get to optimal results. I personally have found cbd to be AMAZING. As long as you are over 18 it is legal, no card needed, and it has optimal results almost immediately and you can play with the dosage to get the right fit without worrying about taking too much or something because it's super healthy compared to medication. Anyways I have also learned to basically lasso my thoughts and counter them with positivity but again, meditation and medication are an absolute miracle from God. I don't know you but love ya. Hope things get better for you soon!

I’m emotionally burnt out because if a toxic friend...She drained me of all my energy because she would always want to talk and when I didn’t want to talk she would act depressed and I would stress that she would be mad at me. I am always fatigued and nothing has helped me feel energetic, not eating, not sleeping, not just relaxing in general. And she acts like nothing happened to me. She drained me so bad, she forced me to isolate from my family, forced me to isolate from my other friends and if I would go back to my family or other friends she would act depressed to get me back to her. She used me for her own personal gain and forced me to this masuline image she could look up to. I never wanted to be this manly image for her. Deep down I knew I was feminine and soft. Anything remotely feminine she would call “basic“ or “bratty“. I love being a girl and I love the color pink, doing my hair, doing my nails and fashion and she just didn’t understand that and would force me to be something I was not just to fit her standard of a friend. And she had the audcity to say she “tried to unfriend me but I emotionally malnipulated her into staying“ when it was the other way around and she had done that to me. She played victim and emotionally drained me of everything. So I had enough. I cut her off for spending lies about me and trying to malnipulate my other friends againist me, which she fail terribily at. Now I know what is wrong with me and I am using the help of my friends and family to help me get better. I only cut her off a couple days ago but I’ve never felt so free. I feel like my wings grew back after them being cut off so many times. I feel like me. I am finally me. I am finally free.

@@superleipoman No it's not. It can be difficult to engage in those kinds of healthy habits when you're depressed, but you can force yourself to do them anyway. Studies have reliably shown that engaging in those habits, and doing things like hobbies you used to enjoy, helps with depression even if you don't want to be doing them at the time.
@crustydrag0n7934 жыл бұрын
@@superleipoman And that's the right thing to do. I've found that focusing more on positive things than focusing on my depression tends to make it easier. People who don't want help will never truly get help. You have to be willing to make a change so that a change can occur. For me, I slowly focus on more and more positive things and push away more negative things. I then found myself taking care of myself much more than before. But, that might just be for me. But the only way to really get help with these type of things is by first acknowledging you have a problem, then take steps to actually TRY to make the problem go away.

@@GedenWilbur I recommend antidepressants. They just kicked in and I figured it was just start of year optimism but I have overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I'm likely going to pull myself off the streets, out of debt, and maybe even have a car by end of year. This as a direct result of a remedied chemical imbalance

@@lucianna7005 Yeah I just got them.. Despite having wanted this since twelve years of age. I was told back then "You are just a teenager" and after that "Well maybe your life is just shit" and then"It might be schizophrenia and it just looks like depressing" after falling into deep insomnia. I hate the mental health losers in charge of my fucking life. But now I finally got them to listen and it works like a charm.

Im too emotionally drained and in need of affection from quality people but I find hard to talk to new people, Im becoming more lonley as days go by. I don't feel fulfillment when Im surrounded by friends anymore, I don't feel interest and affection when it comes to my parents. But most importantly, I feel like everyone on the social media are in fact suffering from these 7 symptoms, all of them are emotionally drained, mentally unstable, drowning in memes and positive pics they share on theirs wall having the illusion they support each other but at the end of the day I feel no one cares anymore. Either me. Im trying to figure it out alone, or with what I have, trying to eat more healthy, do exercises, be productive on my fields and academic work, looking for dreams and working to overcome the trauma alone. But I need connections with people, but sadly they are dying next to me in front of a screen.

I feel so similar and it pisses me off so much that everyone is so screwed up. I used to think those Instagram people’s lives were so much better than mine. After learning about all of their crap though I’ve learned that no one’s life is good. Just delete all of your social media platforms. I only have Snapchat for my very close friends and Reddit for the memes. It helps a lot to break away from all of those lies.

Same. There was this one time where I sat. And my friend noticed that I'm not okay. I explained my situation which is similiar to yours and she told me not to be dependent on people because not all of them can do the same thing as me as everyone including me is going through something. Then she told me that since I believe in God I can rely to God and pray. I felt better but I can't stop these drained emotioms I feel like something is very wrong but I'm trying my best to give love to myself

I have all of these signs. It really makes me suffer. I feel down most of the time, I don't want to meet anyone in my life, I no longer see any hopes in my dreams.... I feel useless. I feel like my life and my dreams doesn't matter anymore, because i see that my efforts in my college studies are going lower and lower. I lost hope in anything. I miss my old self when I was optimistic and ready to accept any challenge. I hate my new self. Even though now I feel like my personality became stronger with people, but still... I hate it. I just want to pause the time so that I can rest and revise and fix myself in order to come back stronger and ready to continue in my life and my studies...

I fell in love with a person that I shouldn’t have. We are each other’s best friends but what I wish for would never happen. First, it has no future in my country and religion. Second, I believe if I confess to her it will ruin everything between us. Because I have been in love with her for years without her knowing. I think I have reached the stage of emotional burnout but I managed to survive and still be by her side, though, I think I still suffer from the consequences. Love is just something that won’t go away. I survived this far because I wanted to be strong for her. She deserve better than my feelings alone.

I've had depression since 9, but that's when big things like ghosting friends started so I was probably like this since birth. I fetishize my sadness, which makes it harder to fix anything and ever since my suicide attempt words like happy, or even just seeing smiles or trains, are really big triggers to my depression.
