8: It may take years to get out of a burnout 9: You may end up permanently damaged - your stress tolerance may be permanently reduced for example 10: Burnout is a form of depression, or at least close to depression - so slipping into a serious depression out of a burnout is easy. All in all, a burnout may cost you a decade of your life or even more, as it did with me. Take care of your mental health guys, this is no laughing matter.

This is describing me too accurately and it’s genuinely really depressing and relieving slightly because at least there’s a term for how i constantly feel, try and ask your friends or people you know showing these symptoms just invite them to do something, it will really help even if it’s just a walk. I hope everyone watching is okay and not dealing with this awful feeling ❤️

I live in a constant cycle of burnout-healing-slowly stressing out-burnout. That happens because of the pressure and how my university/teachers organize the semester. If you are in a similar situation, please, p l e a s e, take care of your mental health. Even if you think you aren't gonna make it, take a day off; do something fun and relax. Something that's been helping me a lot is not doing thins alone; I've been asking for help when I need, and been doing my assignments and projects whitg the company of friends, so I don't stress as much.

Despite doing literally nothing this is pretty much accurate on what’s been currently going on. It’s only been a few months since I’ve graduated and despite having everything planned out and being super excited for it. My first steps into actual adulthood is already having a more than rough start. I don’t even know why I’m stressed or possibly in this case, burnt out, since I haven’t been doing much at all. Maybe these confusing feelings about adulthood are normal? Especially if you’re just starting out in it. But it still doesn’t make sense to me as to why I’m feeling as horrible as I am.

I graduated high school earlier this year, back in May. I got so burnt out, and it built up so much in the last 6 years of school, that I went through a full mental breakdown. It made it so I couldn't do even things that I loved. I tired out easily playing video games, couldn't read fanfiction (or any manner of written work, for that matter, with specific exceptions), couldn't listen to music (KZbin locking effective music playing behind paywalls didn't help), couldn't do any chores, had a mental block that made it impossible to so much as process the homework I'm looking at if I even manage to open it… you name it I lost it. It reduced me to watching KZbin and using Discord and browsing… certain sites. This was ONLY possible because I graduated, and my parents are letting me have a year off from doing anything and having a year before I get a job, because my parents are letting me rest for so long. I'm still recovering. I've started to regain the ability to do some chores, I have reignited my joy for listening to music, I have started going shopping or to restaurants with my family again, I can read things like news articles, I'm even able to play video games for longer and longer sessions. Still can't read fanfiction, still don't listen to music for long sessions, can't read books, still tire out really easily and quickly doing chores… still recovering, 7 months later. Currently I'm building a computer, and once I have that computer finished, and have a computer all to myself that can do pretty well anything, a lot of stuff is going to open up to me. I want to explore hobbies like art, music making, game development, coding, KZbin content creation, I want to FINALLY be able to play pc games, I want to get emulators so I can play retro games without paying hundreds of dollars to collectors for them… so many things I want to do. I think easing into some hobbies can help me with my burnout some. I hope I can finish recovering before my parents finally push me into a job.

Love Ghibli and Genshin references. Honestly, the one I relate to the most is the fantasy sign. When I'm overwhelmed, it isn't hard for my mind to just slip to another world entirely. In the figurative sense that is. It's not uncommon for my mind to just draw a blank and my thoughts immediately go to a fantasy, whether it's someplace real with people who are real or if it's a fictional place with fictional people, my mind will slip wherever it can when I get burnout.

Yeah, i have had 3 stress headaches in the past month, one of which lasted over 2 weeks, and i feel like i get angry a LOT easier then usual, like usually it takes quite a bit to make me a decent amount of mad, now it is very easy to make me EXTREMELY mad. Like all i can think of is hatred and rage. I’m just not sure what to work on, getting angry less, or having more control over when i do get angry.

My first professional job as a freshly minted college graduate was working in a hell hole of an office run by a full blown narcissist who would sit in her office and talk total CHIT about every single person in the office. These tirades were loud enough for the entire office to hear. She also gathered us in a meeting once and stared each of us down in a HATEFUL stare and told each and everyone of us they we were NOT irreplaceable and if we didn't like it then we all could just get the hell out. She declared that she didn't wasn't children because she refused to waste her time with "some snot nosed little prick,". She was such an evil person but I didn't have any experience in the world of work and thought all jobs must be like that. If you ever find yourself working for an abusive sociopath, RUN out the door. Do not walk, RUN. You can earn a paycheck anywhere and your mental being is worth more than anything in your life.

I’ve been building a business nonstop for a over year, and the only break I’ve had is leaving overnight to fly out of state when my 19 year old daughter had emergency brain surgery. I stayed & helped her recover for 2 months and tried to come home and “get back at it”..but I started to get sick, a lot..and for long periods of time. In addition to this, I made a thousand mile move, became an instant empty nester in the process, and ended a stressful relationship during this time period. My stomach always feels nauseous and I can barely make myself get out of bed to go work on finishing the air bnb (I’m physically building the rental cabin as well) My passion for my dreams seem to have disappeared from my emotional/soul memory and I can’t find the drive to complete my goals. It is nothing less than devastating. Please take good care of yourselves, pace yourselves and try to recognize that being a high achiever requires an equally high level of self care that cannot be sacrificed without dire, long term consequences💞

Actually this describes me really well. I was wondering if I was burnt out but I just thought I was feeling sorry for myself. Although idk how I became this way I was all ways on top of work and over years ( I’m a freshman now) I just can’t seem to get any motivation. Even when I think of what good can come from it. And even when I get weekends off, emotionally and physically I don’t feel “ rested” at all. Even at school. I was alway an introvert and sometimes prefer staying home then out but occasionally I like to have a good time. But now I just hate any social interaction because it just wears me out for no reason.

To be honest, my body hurts A LOT. When I mean a lot I literally mean a lot. When I try to walk, my legs hurt so I can’t walk normally. My muscles hurt when I try so much and it’s harder for me to run. I’m also doing really bad with my performance. I don’t ask my mother or father for help because they’re just going to say that I’m overreacting even though I’m not. I also get mad when I see my mom because she annoys me. She tells me to do everything I need to do in one day. Even though my body really hurts, she doesn’t care. I also feel sick. I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. I try to smile as much as I can and keep my anger to myself because I’m the only one who’s gonna get in trouble. It’s almost like I’ve given up on life. I really want to cry and cry all day but I can’t. I can’t do anything since my parents are already mad at me even though I already do what they say. I also think that everything I say is wrong because my parents have said that I’m wrong a lot of times. I feel more safe on the Internet not gonna lie.

Im so burnt out that I just want my life to end. Im not saying that I'm at harm to myself, but death sounds so peaceful, and I hate having this mindset. I'm just tried of the stress, I'm tired of everything. I just want to sleep eternally and never have to deal with these negative emotions ever again. Im so.. tired.

But it's hard to take care or myself if other have issues that I know I can fix. I just want everyone to be happy in order for me to feel proud of myself, specially after what I've done in the past. I will do everything for people who deserve to be happy, even if it means sacrificing my own happiness. But it's hard for me to do so because I keep being so lazy and pessimistic, Which is the absolute contrary to what I need to be. I just wanna make my family, teachers, classmates and friends to be happy so I can feel proud of myself for once.

But I just can't, for some reason I don't know why I can't. Everyday I just want someone to say to me in the face that I'm doing enough for them and that they are being happy with how I treat them. I'm just not good enough for my family, and I'm not enough for my friends. And I know that everyone's problems are not my fault, and that I should stop trying to solve everyone's problems. But it's easier said than done, I just don't want people to leave me alone because I couldn't find a way to help them. I don't want people to leave me because of the way I act. I don't want people to leave me because I'm not good person enough. I don't want people to leave me because of my decisions. I don't want people to leave me because I couldn't tell the truth. I don't want people to leave me because of what I did. I say that I'm okay even if inside I feel like a monster. I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the end. It looks almost like everything I do ends in a disaster. I just want to feel proud of being a good friend. But I can't remember how I felt when I was proud of myself. And I'm starting to feel like I don't deserve to be happy.

I understand you because I used to be like that...but really it doesnt have to be this way...you dont owe anyone (not even your family) anything...it seems selfish but its not...its selfish of people to expect you to do what they wont or to only be with you because you help them...you are more valuable than that and in time youll learn that you dont have to try so hard for people to like you...the right people will stay...and it is hard but trust me almost no one will thank you for what you do for them and the moment you stop doing things theyll treat you like youre the worst( I learned that the hard way)...but its not like that trust me...you are not the problem...learn to do and help only when you want and dont do it to recieve something in return( if you dont expecr you wont be dissapointed) ...we cant help the whole world and we cant please the whole world...you know how they say to love someone you first have to love yourself...well to be able to help someone you first have to help yourself...you are just as important as everyone else...its okay to live only for yourself...its not selfish..you belong to yourself to no one else...find your happiness withing you...it will be hard at first but you can do anything you set your mind to...I have faith in you...youre stronger than you think...

What I've noticed is that, depression can be bad enough but anxiety, it just gets in the way the least you expect it. It hinders your voice the most you needed it. When sometimes you can suppress depression, anxiety can't be.

One of the signs I dealt with was a huge change in my both sleeping and eating pattern. For me, I almost lost my appetite entirely and slept less than usual. I've heard that for some other people it worked the other way, and well, both are destructive.

My job: 1) Yes 2) No because nobody ever invites me anywhere. ;-; 3) Yes 4) Kind of because I'm a digital shopper so it feels like I'm being slower, but I have to be fast and bag quickly as well as a cashier. 5) Yes because I yawn whenever I'm working on my podcast from my job. 6) I was like that the other day because I had a customer that I dispensed to the other day tell me that I shouldn't "treat a customer like that" when I was in the middle of a freaking order with FROZEN AND COLD stuff. Not to mention, it was TWO people arriving at the SAME time. [The person that was telling me such thing was the second person I dispensed to.] Didn't let me get a word in that I couldn't HEAR where she wanted me to put her stupid stuff since I seem to be deaf in my left ear a bit. She called to complain about me, but my manager on duty knew my personality and knew that I wouldn't be rude without a good cause. I also had coworkers to back me up on my story since I turned my body so my right ear was facing the customer so I can hear her "direct" orders. P.S. I don't understand people with mini-vans that want their groceries on their seats! They'll fall off anyways! Just let them be on the freaking floor! 7) Yes because this was me a few days in a row with night shift. I don't want night shift because I ride my bike. Today, I almost got side-swiped by a sports vehicle that was driving down the center of the two lane high-way. I was directly in the middle of the left lane because I was going to bike my way home (I don't live far from my work), but it was super dark out. I had my lights on my bike on and I was wearing a yellow safety vest. He was so close that I could feel the heat of his exhaust on his car on my leg. Suffice it to say, I don't want night shift anymore!

I used to love band, but I’ve been choosing to play less and less because it just doesn’t feel right anymore. I’m one who loves school, and my work has been decreasing in quality. Anyone who knows me knows I would do nearly anything to be at school, but recently I’ve just wanted to stay home. (I haven’t been, obviously). I’ve been withdrawing from social situations, especially my best friend since we’ve recently had an incident where they caught me attempting to do something bad to myself. I’m constantly tired and wanting to sleep, but I don’t think that’s entirely irregular for someone my age. But knowing (parts) of myself, it’s likely I’m not going to do much, if anything, to help myself get through this. I would take some time off school if that wouldn’t stress me out so much or I didn’t care about my grades. Point is, don’t do what I’m doing. Please take care of yourself, you matter. :)

Since it's the finals, I feel overwhelmed with life and workload ahead of me. I only have a couple of days left to finish everything (modules, researches, and others), it's either I do everything or do nothing. My mental health is slowly deteriorating, and I can't even get any proper rest. I'm just hoping for all of this pay off.

It's sucks because I'm cross country running captain, have a 4.1 GPA, top 10% of my senior class, taking advanced college courses, and extracurriculars to attend. I used to love everything I do, but now I don't feel any passion for anything. I want to sleep 24/7 and I feel hungry but once I eat I feel nauseous. I get dizzy throughout the day. During and after exercise I feel like I'm going to pass out. I don't have a support system and yet people want me to work hard all the time. No one considers my feelings. I'm thinking that the spring semester of my senior year I should just quit all the extracurriculars I don't feel passion for anymore and take a break from those. It makes me sad, but maybe I should put my health first for once.
