Another good video from Nigel with lots of tips, what I like about Nigels finished pictures is that you can still recognise where they were taken after they have been worked on! but the best tip was, leave the picture after a few adjustments and go and make a drink and come back later or even tomorrow.....cheers...DG

I have just started to make the time with my editing, and to do more than just use the auto and a few basic adjustments. I realise I have not made the best use of the graduated filter. This video has come at a perfect time and really helped me a lot to understand more about the HSL and colour toning section. Also great that it has come from a Brit - nothing against our friends over the Atlantic, but the images you are using are mainly from the UK, and so similar in location to mine, though of course loads better quality! And like others have said, I like the 7 step approach. Thanks again and looking forward to seeing your presets
@leosmithphotovideo39446 жыл бұрын
Yes to presets for 10 quid!! Thanks Nigel. I do think the color and luminance range masking feature for local adjustments is one of the most significant additions to LR in the last couple of years -- it means less need (or no need) to go to photoshop and use luminance masks or color range -- i always like to stay in LR as much as possible, since edits are infinitely more maintainable (everything is maintainable at all times, rather than having edits buried down in the layer stack) and file sizes are a fraction of the size. Many thanks for the Vid. Cheers, Leo.
@leslielanderkin83016 жыл бұрын
Perfect for someone quite comfortable with LR as it provides small nuances that go a step further. Thank you. Leslie

Really insightful mate. I really took a lot from the sixth point - I think I often tend to wanna stretch out my histogram to try and ‘maximise’ the dynamic range in the image, which is definitely not necessary! Cheers Nigel 👍🏼. Henry.

Same here. I think now I will use the histogram more as a guide but not stretch it out. :)

Thanks for a very informative video. I was particularly taken by the use of the colour range grad tool. Previously I’ve only used the HSL tab to adjust colour and luminance on the grad. Going to give these a go. Presets? Yes. As well as being able to use them, I find you can learn new ways of using the different sliders as you see how the preset was ‘made’. The pricing is about right too. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and share it with us Nigel.

Thank you so much for this video. For me, the timing was excellent as i'm just starting to explore LR a bit more for 'serious' edits, and since I love your work, seeing how you do things is a real help. Great to see how you work in LR Nigel. I probably don't spend enough time on the finer points - I was always told to do as little as possible and if in doubt, don't.
