Jungkook said something very cool once about how he interprets songs: “if there is a song I dont try to cram my style and character into the song, if I do that the song might colapse, instead I just try to paint my feelings onto the song as if i’m coloring, thats how I interpret a song”.

I mean Whitney Houston didn’t write her own songs but no one would deny she’s a great singer? JK said none of the songs are personal to him. Producers have complimented JK on multiple occasions for fully comprehending their vision explaining that most only understand about 80%.

Heads up. JK had a punishing schedule in making Golden and its subsequent release and promotion. He also knew the very day after this performance (the next day) his enlistment would be announced, so he was emotional but trying to hide it from us. I loved his Showcase but vocally he wasn’t at his best. Also, JK’s documentary “I Am Still” is coming to cinemas on 18 September (limited screening). You’ll get to see the recording of “Standing Next to You” and never before seen live performance of “Shotglass of Tears” from his iHeartRadio album release party. He was vocally in very good form for his iHeartRadio performances. You could watch his live performance of “Somebody” from this Showcase instead (only live performance of this song).

JK told Suga on Suchwita the second time he was on that he wanted to experiment with his vocals to convey different emotions on the songs on the album. So he didn’t admit to it being from personal experience. He was talking also about doing that on Hate You. I recently also heard him also say he wants to try all different genres with his voice including musical theatre and opera (may have been a comment in Are You Sure - the travel show filmed before enlistment). I think it is an interesting approach to thinking about what music to record - try different emotions, different genres, different techniques. I am looking forward to it.

Well, this is a very American album there are no Jungkook's except for his vocal excellence. What you first watched was the only SK showcase, which was about an hour and smth and he talked in between songs with K-ARMY. He got quite emotional. It was great to have a Monday morning online concert for free, to me. And it will always be very memorable because he was saying goodbye and not knowing if coming back like everyone of them. Let's remember that North and South Korean issue although old is active.

Jungkook’s version of Fallingz is so much more emotional, you’d think he has fallen in love and been hurt this much before., but it’s just pure talent. Some singers just have their heart in their voices and you feel with them. Jungkook is one of those singers, he had it even at a very young age. Pls react to his covers of Falling by Harry Styles, If You by Big Bang and Let There Be Love by Oasis.Even better of you compare his cover with the original.

We may learn more in his documentary in theaters September 18th called I AM STILL. It is supposed to be his 8 month journey from SEVEN through to his GOLDEN album and show(s) after album release. We did see a recording episode where he recorded Seven in the U.S. with Andrew Watt, John Bellion and Cricut. Then we saw a Suchwita episode where he was talking with Suga and also V, and he said he recorded something like 3 songs in a day, and I believe he said entire album in a week or 5 days or something!!!! To which V replied, it takes Him 3 days just to record 1 song.

Correct. jK I’d say he recorded a song a day, but he recorded 1 part to every song on 1 day, then inserts to every song day 2 and then tweaked all on day 3 as he said in Suchwita. 💜💜💜🇨🇦🥰

Not quite. JK recorded “Seven”. Then Andrew Watt showed him “Standing Next to You” which JK recorded the very next day in 4 hours (which is the longest (time-wise) for him). He recorded one new song a day for a week. Most of Golden was done in that week. With tweaking of the previously recorded songs in between.

This actually might be a good time to go back to early BTS since you now have a sense of where they have gotten to … now revisit where they started. Debut stuff is always awesome because they had that energy but were not necessarily that polished, but still so impressive in a different way.

Just a smol side note, he said that in this body of work, this album, he wanted to showcase his skills, his vocals as he's the best in it ( those are his words, if i could i would go to him and say t to his face stop being so humble you're good at everything just take the compliment and embrace it, don't worry about it) Sorry for running in that tangent But yeah he expressed how he wanted to show his vocals and what different types of songs he can sing and how he can sing them, that why he did take the route of letting writers write those lyrics and he gave his vocals and thus, life to them. I would suggest, for next time, if you're gonna check out a work, he it a group one or a solo project, just go through the full album, as you'll get to see many different genres, works and sounds that they experimented with and a broader look at their individual as well as groups works. I would highly recommend doing that!! Also another side note, ik you guys are singers and i appreciate you guys sitting and just listening and appreciating their voices, but if you go through albums and such , then would highly suggest watching the music video too, because they sometimes have more context to it ( although sometimes you can just get more confused by it too) Ok sorry this'll be a long comment but please read through, it just popped in my mind while typing the above part: Suggestion: you do like one album at a time, but you take a song, watch the music video and then performance if available AND an explanation video of the lyrics if available ( belive me you'll want it if you want to understand the song specially in songs like idol, ddaeng, daechwita)( you can always appreciate the vocals and such but just to get a deeper meaning I will suggest explanation video coz when BTS writes their lyrics they do use alot of symbolism or cultural things and more!) All of those in one video, could also always go with more than one song your choice, but just a suggestion!

If there is one industry trend I hate it is the 3 minute radio friendly song length. Songs don't have room to breath anymore and I miss the 4, 5 minute long BTS songs. 😩 I feel your pain about this one too. Thank you for this 7 day BTS snack and being creative. ☺ Now, if I could wish I think I would love to hear your take on V's Layover and JK's Hate You iRadio Live stage and for OT7--Wings or Love Yourself:Tear albums. I know album explorations are more difficult with copy right though.

"Golden", the songs were not written or produced by Jk, but he put his soul/emotions into his voice,to sing them. The album talks about a relationship that is not going very well. Jk wanted to release an album that told a story and talked about a feeling that many people could relate to. He was given several songs and handpicked each one. Jk had already written several songs , produced, but I think that really, he (I don't know why) was not satisfied with them and the album (it had been promised for a long time) It wasn't finished yet and then the opportunity came up to do "Golden" and no one would let the golden boy miss this opportunity. The album was a huge sales and streaming, success.

Todo el álbum Golden, es increíble, pero existen algunas otras canciones en la que notas más su calidad vocal. Juré que sería:Somebody, la canción elegida. Es excelente. Nunca lo había oído cantar así en rango, se probó a él mismo y aceptó en un live en weverse que no creía que pudiera volver a sacar ese tono y cantar tan perfecto como la versión que grabó en el disco, pero se equivocó, lo hizo increíble en ese concierto en vivo. Es de los artistas que escucharlo en vivo es un placer, suele quedar mejor en vivo que en disco porque se supera a él mismo cada día. Pero lo acepto, amo oírlo de cualquiera manera, y cuando improvisa en sus lives en weverse no nos, deja indiferentes, y no no necesita auto tune el auto tune lo necesita a él.
