Let's talk about the health benefits of magnesium.
Magnesium is a fascinating and important mineral that's involved in over 350 enzymes in the body. Enzymes speed up the chemical reactions in the body, and they don't deplete their energy in the process.
Well-known benefits of magnesium:
• It supports the heart
• It may help with muscle cramping
• It supports sleep
• It may help reduce anxiety
• It may help promote relaxation
• It supports the flexibility of the arteries
• It may help with headaches
• It may help with problems related to the nerves and muscles
Surprising benefits of magnesium:
1. It may help regulate LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and increase HDL
2. It helps make ATP (energy in the body)
3. It helps regulate adrenaline, cortisol, and ACTH-and counters oxidative stress from these hormones
4. It's involved in enzymes related to lecithin (the antidote to cholesterol)
5. It's a natural calcium channel blocker, beta blocker, and antithrombotic
6. It helps regulate blood sugar levels
7. It's involved in making DNA
Many people don't consume enough magnesium, which can cause a magnesium deficiency and lead to various health issues.
Magnesium-rich foods:
• Foods high in chlorophyll (dark leafy green vegetables)
• Nuts and pumpkin seeds
• Dark chocolate (sugar-free)
• Sea kelp
• Avocado
• Low-sodium sea salt
Here are the top things that can cause you to become magnesium deficient:
• Refined sugar and refined carbs
• Alcohol
• Diuretics
• Diarrhea
• Low stomach acid
• Certain gene variations
The type of magnesium supplement I would take, if needed, is magnesium glycinate.

I realized I was magnesium deficient one night when I was awoken from a good sleep with my heart racing and skipping beats. It literally felt like my heart was doing flip flops. I was unable to get my balance so my niece was there and heard me call out for my son. By the time the ambulance arrived I looked like someone had dumped a bucket of water on me, I was sweating terribly & I began to have visual hallucinations. I was terrified!! I felt like if I didn't die I would surely lose my mind. They determined my magnesium was extremely low and they loaded up my IV with a bag of mag. And by the time it was about halfway through I felt like a New person! It was the best I have felt in months. I am an advocate for Magnesium. If you can't get it from the foods you eat, for Pete's sake, please supplement. You won't regret it! It may even save your life! ♡☆♡

🍫 For those of you asking about forms: - Mg Glycinate is a great all-rounder, and the glycine can help with sleep! - Mg Citrate has a little extra "oomf" to help with constipation - Mg Threonate might be best for the brain (if memory serves, there isn't as much research on this one, though) - I personally do not recommend Mg Oxide

I have heard only 2% or so of Mg oxide is bioavailable , and that is the form in most multivitamins!!
@gutmicrobiomequeen
@gutmicrobiomequeen Жыл бұрын
@@sarahm3614 I haven't heard that, but the AMOUNT of Mg in multis is extremely low. It's ok though- Ca and Mg interfere with the absorption of a lot of other minerals, so you don't actually want them in a multi.

Thank you for pointing out the form of magnesium. I worked for a supplement company for years and over and over I learned how my clients were not aware of how many forms minerals come in and many times they would buy the least expensive, not knowing the difference. I spent most of my time educating my public vs selling, but I feel if you aren't taking care of your public correctly, you shouldn't be in a position of selling in the first place. Another area of needed knowledge is in understanding how much you can take. Because these companies are regulated by the FDA (boo!!) The amounts are ridiculously low. Ex: potassium 99 mg. I think it's important to point out that some folks may need wayyy more depending on their own circumstances. So maybe offer websites or other where folks can learn for themselves what amounts of supplements might work better. Just my two cents. Thank you for continuing to be blessed to be a blessing for others. I thank God every day and pray for your health, your work, your happiness, and to be able to help us the way you do. You've definitely found your calling. 😊

I've been following the magnesium saga since I read "The Magnesium Miracle" Book by Carolyn Dean in the early/mid 2000's. Cirtrate and Glycinate are the one's I'm most focussed on (for affordability). There are also some other good ones like Threonate and Orotate (which are more expensive). Magnesium Oxide is the worst and only absorbs at 4% in the body. Yet you see it in processed cereals and on the shelves a lot more, 'cause it's cheaper and people don't understand the difference, but I avoid using it altogether. I'd like to know how these different forms compare to getting magnesium through food (green leafs, nuts, seeds, grains, etc.) for best absorbability/bioavailability. One big takeaway is that your health will suffer in MANY ways if you're not getting enough magnesium -- it makes a big difference once you understood it's importance and up your intake. From the typical diet of processed foods, bad eating habits, stressful lifestyles, and depleted soil, it's questionable if most people are getting enough, if any at all! Thanks for the good video!

Bravo! Well done. I do two forms of Mg daily: L-Threonate for the brain, and Transdermal for general cell saturation including muscles and joints. The body will only absorb what it needs transdermally, so you'll never get too much that way. If you ever have a cramp, just spray on a 50% solution of water and Mg oil, rub it in, and within seconds the cramp will be gone.

I learned some years ago that magnesium helps with leg cramps & twitches - if I stop supplementing with magnesium, my eyelids will twitch, to the point of almost being closed, which can be pretty amusing during Zoom meetings. ("No, I'm NOT winking at you, honestly....") I also get pretty bad foot & leg cramps at night if I don't use magnesium. If I supplement regularly with magnesium, that all stops. Glad to see this video confirming that.

🤣🤣 Doctor Berg, when i start watching one of your videos... it leads to binge watching and they fear that at home!! 😂😂 I am said I am neglecting my family... i see it otherwise😉 I am getting informed to better look after you lot!! 🤣🤣🤣 On a serious note, they are so engaging, informative and useful... and I am one of those people who run low on magnesium so I do take a supplement whilst I did not know there were so many different types of magnesium AND how each one works with our body.... our bodies really are a wonderful masterpiece... so beautiful and complex, yet so wise in itself too!! I am amazed!! Thank you for making these videos 😁

My cognitive function improves when I take magnesium. I have noticed All of the other benefits that you mentioned as well. However it’s very noticeable for me when I am consistently supplementing with magnesium…I can think more clearly and logically. I’m 59 YO woman. Magnesium is my superhero. Its also good to know if you have a more than normal stressful experience/situation. Double or triple your dosage to offset it. Example I fell tripping over my cat. I triple dosed thru out that day. No bruises and muscle soreness was nonexistent.

Another huge thing is for breathing. I have emphysema and had decreased my Magnesium (Mg) when I couldn't afford to buy more Mg supplements. Within a few months, maybe less, I noticed I was having more difficulty breathing than usual. However, I didn't put 2 and together since it had been awhile since I quit taking the Mg. Well, lo and behold, I was looking in your videos for how to get rid of Calcium (Ca) in the muscle when I found one that talked about the many uses of Mg for that, AND several other uses in the body, such as BREATHING. long story short, I started taking more and within 2 days my oxygen levels were back to normal. Your videos are such a great resource, thank you
