There's a 3rdPS I sometimes play where "levelling up" entails taking a skill test, but in some of them (mostly the stealth ones, and stealth is actually a component of the gameplay), all of your ranged weapons (some of which are silent and can normally be used stealthily) and any of the non-weapon powers you have are disabled. So it's melee-only stealth in a game where you're normally able to vaporize just about anything the moment you spot it.

kinda late to it but this video is genius (on a structural and writing level): every segment ties well to the next one (from timers to underwater levels using R&C, from that to escort missions using MGS2 and so on) also the jokes aren't the usual recycled family friendly stuff, these are still ad friendly but not cringy and the observations aren't copy pasted popular opinions like WatchMojo (i've never seen people point out the "trippy level" before but i think most of us thought about it at some point) lastly it's pretty well edited in a way that compliments the humour (the close-up at 4:42 is brilliant and had me in tears) it's really easy to miss these details but for a channel that basically serves as publicity to Playstation content exclusively and is not focused on trends, this is one of the only channels which get the "top X in Y" idea right and produce quality content.

Agree with every word this video said. Also, I often save before making a decision (such as in Witcher 3) and try each option to figure out which is best. As for getting lost, I enter a dungeon and go left whenever I get a choice, which statistically improves my odds of seeing as much as possible (especially in Fallout New Vegas where this method always results in me seeing every part of every cave).

Hang on what about in games like skyrim the game asks you to go through an endless dungeon. Bloody labyrinthian and Blackreach
@angelitabecerra6 жыл бұрын
MIchael Chivers Blackreach was a goddamn nightmare for me. I'm the sort that has to look in every nook and cranny and loot *all* the things. And for this reason I have really good directional sense in dungeons. But not Blackreach, oh no. It's so big and a lot of it looks similar enough that building a mental map of it is damn near impossible. I've spent hours roaming in Blackreach.

Stealth sections where detection means instant failure. I'm know I'm terrible at being stealthy, stop rubbing it in by making me repeat it over and over! It's even worse when its a surprise stealth section in a non stealth game. It's hard enough in a game designed around doing so, but in a game that has barely any stealth mechanics at all is a nightmare.

Good music, though. Donk-donk, deesh-deesh, donk-donk. It's basically a slowed-down version of some of the other music in the game with some creepy sounds added. Some experimentation finds 7/3 speed gets it sounding pretty close to the original.

Time limits...how I hate them. I usually finish the things with a lot of time left, but oh boy... They stress me out, and stress triggers my GAD, and anxiety really isn't making those limits more fun to play. About making choices: That's why you save about 100 times/hour. Or so. Especially when you are playing BioWare games. Surprise genre switching is the bane of my existence. "Surprise! Now you suddenly have to find your way out of this random labyrinth!"...and I barely have any sense of direction. T_T

I dread the limit of time. Even if I know I have plenty of time. My palms sweat and Im shaking. BTW, its not for Bahamut Zero, its a Huge Materia. Oh and its horrible. The first time challenge in the Fire Cavern in FF8 even though it screws up my SeeD score, I pick the most time on the limit. Oh finally Sonic's underwater drowning limit make my butt cheeks clench. Oh oh ooof...dont make me make a choice. I get lost.

Driver back on PS1 was the most brutally insane for time limits for me. I'm okay with under water as long as the area isn't clutter with tight space all the time. Escorts, I feel your pain. I never like those missions. It's a pain when I'm busy defending myself from a strong mob and the the escort just walk out getting themselves shot up like they want to be. I'd gladly trade doing the Chocobo Races and Breeding them for recovering Cloud's memories with you Rob. I love those creepy void scenes. I never been carried with Chocobo quests. I thought the part were Squall hanging on the hover machine in the Galbadia Garden fight was the worst since the camera kept moving around and I can't see when to block. Another great video, guys. Can't wait to see you next week.
