"Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it." -- Henry David Thoreau. "Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Don't wish it were easier; wish you were better." -- Jim Rohn. Hi guys! Let me just share to you a short story. We own a cookie shop business in our college town. When we first started it, we just graduated college and were living in our car with very little direction, just a huge passion to be successful. I started it out of a local bagel shop in their off hours at night with my boyfriend, Bran. It was a crazy experience but it worked! We became a success! And how we have our first storefront location (a second one currently under construction but launching soon!) We started it to fund a year long backpacking trip around the world and to be successful while living the life of our dreams.

The Comparison Game. I love when you talked about the quote that says: make sure you're better than who you were yesterday. I never thought about it the way you addressed it. I usually thought that I should make exactly the day I'm in better than the day before. I also have this quote: Let each morn be better than its eve and each morrow richer than its yesterday. But, now I'm thinking that the morn, eve, day, and yesterday could mean a season in life and a larger view of it. Thank you for sharing such amazing content! :)

I’ve recently been trying to tell myself to be my own best friend because at the end of the day, the one person who is absolutely guaranteed to be in your life is yourself. If any of my friends talk about themselves the negative way I view myself, I’d be heartbroken and refute that! So I wanna be able to do that for myself as well.

Most people just focus on the things that make them successful, but simply ignore the factors that stop them from being successful. Seeking approval, putting myself or others down, self doubt were some of the things that held me back from being successful and now I have overcame them.

A thing I really like saying is "make sure your future self is grateful for what your present self enacted." this isn't to say that you have to do better everyday it's more of, if you can do it now why make your future self do it. and this can go for short and long term goals. My biggest challenge right now is overcoming my fears but I have made the connection between self love and that being the jump off for overcoming fear!

The major thing that's holding me back is F-E-A-R. I'm aware that this stems back to my childhood because I was raised strictly so there were things that I never got to enjoy as child because of the instilled mindset of "Don't do this because blah blah blah..." and yes it created a self-limiting belief of "playing safe and not taking the risk". I carried this heavily when I was a teenager and looking back at my 12 to 15 year old self, I was such a major nega person. My close friends in high school are the reason why that fear started to dissolve gradually and the moment I felt that I took a risk was to follow my passion in pursuing Interior Design major. Relatives were very quick to judge my decision in my future and criticized me a lot. My journey was very rough (because there were ups and downs) but I managed to get to the finish line. It was so worth the experience~! Now I'm still trying to conquer my fears but I feel much much better than I was 10 years ago. Much love and thank you for this video! This made me reflect my struggles and achievements in the past and reminded me never to forget what I've accomplished. mwah~!

The biggest thing holding me back from success: “when i forget how far i’ve come.” //// miles to go and all that; at a pace where i’m enjoying the journey and process. it’s taken me good and long to get to this place in my head, and in my life. (grateful, no more regretful.) i feel a softness and sweetness in my heart, in the little steps and tasks. i don’t see success anymore as one big thing or two or three or four big things if that makes sense. my goals are sacred, and i honour them with intention (and action, i forgot to add before hehe). //// i love the question. your exercises are such fun! thank you for your insights and videos, Aileen. i too wish you love and success and sweet things. ♥♥♥♥

The thing which is actually holding me back is self confidence. I just lack confidence in myself. Even when I talk to people I speak very softly that no one could even hear me and they ignores me. They'll just get frustrated at me and then I fell more down, more un confident. Well that's my story. I can say that I'll learn to be confident in myself by watching your channel. Your videos heal my soul. Thank you for making such awesome videos. Love you Aileen 💜💜

I am the same, like I put myself down and dig myself more into the hole by thinking of what others feel about me. Now what Aileen said of like instead of saying "I can't get up early" Vs I do not prefer waking up early can be a good way for us to say "I prefer to speak softly" can be a great takeaway from the video :)

Procrastination, anxiety, and emotions. I often get so overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have to face or deal with. I can't help but worry every second about what tomorrow will bring and the possibility of failing. Lack of self esteem, trust, and discipline. I tend to give in to my emotions. When I don't feel good, I won't do anything. Instead of being a mature adult, I hide in my room and cry, and I try to escape from all the things that's bothering me.

My biggest belief holding me back is comparison. Most of the times I compare myself with others, but I don't really want to do so maybe it's something involuntarily happening. I do compare myself with my friends and keep thinking of the same. That literally just stress me out and I loss my mind. Even shout loud to everyone surrounds me...

I let fear hold me back so much in the past, I'm sick of it. Now I'm doing whatever I want, who cares what others think? I just have to make one person happy - me. Of course, I'm still afraid but I do things despite being afraid. And so far the things I was afraid of never happened, it's just in our minds.

One thing that holds me back is my ANXIETY! I try really hard to combat it though. When all of the anxious thoughts come rushing in and I’m thinking about the worse case scenarios I say, “get comfortable with the uncomfortable” and I just do it. Saying that phrase eliminates all the worse case scenarios in my head and pushes me to JUST DO IT. It helps me a lot!

I always think the every morning I wake up that today I will do my best and be productive as much as I can but the same thing happens . I am not able to change myself and think in perspective that I am a person who is able to do anything to make his life better . almost all of those 7 things you've discussed really hits hard and I'm so so guilty with that. But I think the "negative mindset"was the one that holds me back the most from doing such great things in life, I always look down on myself, I always think that I can't do things so I don't really grow. As a student it was really hard to believe in myself, but I know I can do anything if I just have the courage to do so, I am not privileged as other kids out there, so I was really having a hard time to cope up. How I wish I was rich as other people 😭 Anyways, super thankyouuu for making videos like this, I wish I can thank you in person someday, when I am successful! Loveyouuu

Comparison game 😢 I hate falling into it, but it sucks knowing that you could’ve done or be “X, Y, Z,” when you have things out of your control (in my case, my autoimmune disease limiting my physical functions, career choices, and ability to go back/ complete my degree). It’s both a trigger for falling into a comparison trap, but also a great reminder that I walk a different path and have different struggles than whoever I’m comparing myself to... and that’s ok. 🥺

Fear is the thing that hold me back i remember once you said in one of your videos the fear and anxiety might not of the actual thing but it might be of changing the situation after success may be like fear of comming out of your comfort zone or safe environment. And That's exactly what happens with me but i am still working on.

For me personally is not letting external influences affect the way I feel. Also a goal for me this year is to consciously be aware of who I am giving my time to because I want to surround myself with positive people and positive vibes. I honestly don't tolerate bs anymore and I'm really proud of that.

This got me emotional. I feel like I've been too hard on myself. I've always feel ashamed for the things that I want to do because I am afraid of what others may say. But the truth is, other people also deals with their own problems. I am happy that I am slowly accepting my shortcomings for myself and learning from it. It just feels so nice to really know yourself again and build piece by piece the things that I've lost within myself.

For me, it's the fear of unknown and also self doubt at times. "Should I do this? What if it doesn't work out? What if it harms me more? What if I'm not good enough to accomplish those tasks?" But after reading the book about the fixed vs. growth mindset and also following Aileen's content for a while, I'm trying to change my self limiting beliefs and seeing my "obstacles" as new challenges to overcome.

I never used to click on her videos but now I probably should more often. She points out some things about the mindset is really where its at. I've been seeing the downside to alot of things recently and being aware of it and wanting to do something about it is hopefully going to perpetuate positive mental results. Always a pleasure to learn something new.

I used to blame my mom for being the reason why I took the degree that I have now. But I realized that even if she was the one who wanted it for me, in the end, it was my responsibility. It was my own action. I worked towards that degree. She was just an influence. Now I’m making a u-turn and gonna start working towards a life that I love. you asked a question about what is holding me back, and I have to say negative mindset and lack of self love and confidence, and I am my own worst enemy. I have tried to figure why I am harder on myself than anyone else, and I still have not come up with a solution, however I am going to work on the 7 things that you talked about, and I think with a little work I will not be my own worse enemy. and Thank you, your video offered a lot of insight to me, but to be honest, I already knew all of that, you just reconfirmed it, and it was almost as if you were talking about me to me. Thank you

I always stress self-love and self-awareness, I think it helps so much when it comes to feeling secure and stable. To answer Aileens question, the thing that holds me back from success the most is self-love. To cultivate more self-love I plan on being kind to myself even when I don’t want to, I plan to take care of myself and my surroundings even when I don’t want too. This will allow me to feel loved and appreciated by myself as time goes on. I just wanna say thanks to Aileen, I love everything you promote, and I appreciate how kind you are for wanting to help others the way you do 🤍

The biggest thing that is holding me back is the comparison game. I know it's toxic but sometimes I just can't help but feeling jealous when I see other people have accomplished the things that I've been working on and that I'm kinda stuck in. I've tried different ways to deal with this kind of mindset and there's a one that I find really useful. Whenever you feal envious, just close your eyes, take some deep breaths and try to focus on your body, not your mind. And when you do that, you will notice that your body is safe and there is no pain and that you are in peace. Once you know that you are safe, you won't feel uncomfy anymore.

Once again, you bring clarity to what one might hope would be simple and clear after 64 years on my journey. Fear of the lack of certainty is a huge factor that is 'coloring' my perspective, as it is for many in the US. All the linear trajectories of what we expected have now been trashed and we are left without supposed tried and true directions on how to engage in the world we live in. That said, I always have hope that at some point I will get back into my journey the way I want and be successful. Your vlog has really, once again, given me a refreshing way to look at the processes I am trying to manage in order to take my journey where I want it to go. Thank you. Your 'food for thought' is so helpful.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Aileen! 💕 Taking ownership over the thoughts and feelings I experience has truly changed my life for the better. Everything starts with a thought and can either become concreted limiting beliefs or empowered beliefs depending on what thought trail we choose to follow. With enough awareness, we can consciously decide which beliefs we want to adopt and release the beliefs that no longer serve us 😊

I thinks its only been a month since I subscribed into your channel and I eventually found myself immersed in your videos. Well clearly, the biggest things that's holding me down is my mindset, I don't know one second i'll be optimistic and then I will oppose myself, apart from that I also have health problems that is why I can't do the activities I needed to do for myself, or I don't know if its just me not prioritizing myself and choose to prioritize the needs of my family over the things I needed to do such as my studies since I'm in college and my "plan" of opening a small business. anyway, i love how your videos make me realize some things. Thank you!

Probably comparing down, and comparing up, would be the biggest thing you mentioned that is holding me back from success. I actually like the quote “the only person you need to be better than is the one you were yesterday” or “the only youtuber (for example) you need to be better than is the one you were yesterday” or only dancer, writer, etc., but this is just not be comparing your path to others. It’s a different version of the same quote, but I will remember what you said.

Hi! The biggest thing that keeps holding me back is comparing myself to others. I would always compare my work ethic, my body shape, my intelligence and etc to some of my friends. I know that it’s a really toxic trait and little by little I’m teaching myself to not feel that way anymore. Your videos are one of the reasons why I’m slowly becoming a better person and I would like to thank you, for that.

I can totally relate to this! I struggled with comparison for so long, until I realised that there is nothing useful about it, it just drained my energy and slowed down my path. I'm still not perfect but actively trying to let go of the thoughts definitely a big improvement! For me, it's lack of self love/confidence & limiting beliefs. I'm starting to realise this year, how much of my power & love I put in other people. So it's automatically a lose situation when/if they're not around combined with those limiting beliefs 😅. But hearing you say that the relationship with yourself is forever... I can feel that's where my energy/focus should be ♥️. x
