Would that make me a horse abuser if I ride with a bit? I don’t really pull that hard and I only really use my legs most of the time! I don’t wanna hurt the horses I ride.

Of course not! The point I was getting at here (if I remember correctly) is that a bit is always going to be more uncomfortable to the horse than going completely bitless. But then again it's possible to use a bit softly as well as a bitless bridle harshly so nothing is black and white. Sounds like you are a very considerate rider, so if a bit gives you the security you need on horseback then you should keep going! 😉
