What about sugar cravings? Would you also frame that as your body needing something? I hear people always say it’s something you got to push through

I’ve had a gastric bypass and devastated at the thought of gaps not working for me because of the surgery. Please tell me I can still heal? My book is actually being delivered today and I’ve got my meat stock in the freezer. Praying I still have a fighting chance to heal ❤

GAPS and histamine. I’ve finally figured out that’s what all of my years of issues are. I’ve been doing GAPS for about a month and can do the yogurt fine but too much sauerkraut or kefir are a big no and definitely no nuts or avocados…how can I do some form of pancakes etc that aren’t nut based and will give my body the best nourishing help?
@bumblebeeapothecary3 жыл бұрын
Dr. Natasha recommends pushing through histamine issues unless you're really miserable with them. More meat stock will resolve histamine issues, she's found. For people who are really miserable, she recommends stopping fermented foods and taking a probiotic supplement while focusing on lots of meat stock. Beyond that, GAPS is bio individual, and in order to help further, I would need to assess your diet and lifestyle habits. Please send me an email or message on Instagram and I'm happy to share my services with you. My contact info is in the description box. Sending well wishes!

Thank you for all your helpful content about the Gaps diet! I have a question about dairy - if you’re starting with the intro diet, it seems that you an have 24hr fermented yoghurt right away, and can move on to kefir soon after... But if going into full gaps only, you have to be extremely careful about introducing dairy?
@bumblebeeapothecary3 жыл бұрын
Great question! If you previously tolerated dairy just fine, and are starting with full GAPS, you can keep having the same amount of 24 hour cultured yogurt and kefir that you previously did well with. If you have any concerns about tolerating dairy, Dr. Natasha recommends following the dairy introduction protocol :)

hi i’m totally binging your videos right now. do you have any resources regarding gaps and breastfeeding? i don’t think you can do the intro diet but is there a safe way to incorporate full gaps or is that something best to do after weaning? i have another year or so of breastfeeding and am curious about options. there isn’t much info out there about it (and i’m yet to finish her book)

Thank you! Dr. Natasha says full GAPS is fine while nursing, but not intro

I've searched your GAPS playlist and there is some good helpful content, I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and was wondering if this is something you can start while pregnant? I have severe and overwhelming swelling in my abdomen every time I eat and it feels like my guts are going to rupture, this started before I was pregnant and have gone to multiple dr visits and tests and scans and the only suggestion is to take a steroid to numb the nerves, which I dont want to do. I came across this diet being mentioned by another youtuber and it sounds like something I'd like to give a try and see if it helps the pain, but as I mentioned I am pregnant so I wanted to know your take on it since you are also pregnant. Thank you.

Congrats! Yes, Dr. Natasha recommends full GAPS (not intro) while pregnant and nursing. GAPS has a great track record of helping people with painful bloating. Feel free to email me if I can help further!

Marissa, I bought some great unrendered suet and had it in my garage for awhile (cold here, like a fridge). It's been in there for a few weeks. I just realized it has bits of meat in it. Is it still safe to render?
@bumblebeeapothecary3 жыл бұрын
If it's as cold as a fridge, it should be okay! I would check it and make sure it smells fine, and it should be good to go :)

Great questions! It really depends. You'll have to see how baby does when they're older. Dr. Natasha recommends moms follow full GAPS (not intro) while pregnant or nursing).
