Another suggestion..pastors should not look at the financial statement, showing which member is paying what. Many pastors don’t realize it but knowing who the tithers are and are not DOES affect how members are treated. He needs to remove that temptation completely!

Amen, and Amen!! I no longer attend this church I'm speaking about in this comment, I left in 2012, but the pastor of this very small church I attended for 2 1/2 years one Sunday while we had a few visitors pulled out a list, and began to angrily read off the names of the members who were tithing, and those who weren't during her sermon?? she began to chastise us saying we never do anything for her, and how she does everything for us?? she said one member (and gave the name of that individual) gave a dollar every week, and how in other words was really nothing, but she how took that dollar for her own personal use to buy her a tasty cake every week for lunch, and said, "but at least he gave something"?? and that was the last Sunday she saw me in that church, I left the church!! I already had alarms going off for a while, but was just making sure I was correct. I couldn't believe she done that, and she put it out there that she uses the money not for the church, but for her own personal use. She constantly threatened the congregation with the lie of if you don't tithe you will bring a curse not only on yourself, but also to the church. She kept record herself of who was giving, she told us that I believe to use it as a ploy, and as a instrument of control over the members to give. She gave special preference to those who gave, and who could contribute their time, blood, sweat, and tears while using their personal monetary resources to so call build the church, but in actuality was helping to build a business within the church which she now has for her own personal gain, and fame. O yea of little faith where is your faith declares the LORD? instead of her, the pastor trusting God as she was claiming to do, was instead wearing out the saints in the church to give give give! This is spiritual abuse! she has a strong love of money, and she is driven by it. I have never meant anyone like her in my life ever! controlling which is of witchcraft! she is now a chief apostle still being driven by money, and fame. Tithing is not for the church today, I was a faithful tither every since I gave my life to Jesus 20 years ago, but right before I left this church I began feeling burdened by tithing out of nowhere, I began seeking God about this, because I did not feel free in doing this anymore, and I didn't want to be disobedient to God, not man. I began speaking to God about the freedom that we are suppose to have as believers in Jesus Christ, but not understanding how a loving God would have us in bondage in sowing our money this way. I began searching the scriptures on tithing, and one day on KZbin there it was, a video of someone who was against tithing in the church, wow! I thought I was the only one. I kept saying to myself everyone tithes, every church that I ever encountered tithes?? but just because we see people doing things especially in the church doesn't mean it is right, and permissible, we can see this in the book of Ezekiel of all find all kinds of things that many were doing both behind, and outside the doors of the temple that was not of God. I now understand that women according to the bible are not commissioned by God to be pastors as describe in the book of Timothy, but that a whole another video topic. Spiritual abuse is real in the church especially now where there is so much going on, however we don't have to be subjected to it, we can leave if we choose to do so, and no be bound what the leader of the church says, when we feel threatened, and abused we are to leave. and obey God, not man and their doctrines!

We are also blessed in our church by missionaries who serve the wonderful people in this great nation and city. As a congregation we are sending missionaries, planting new churches with a growing congregation of locals and people from abroad. Such a privilege to serve and be a small part of God's plan to build His kingdom witnessing the power of the gospel to change lives. You've likely never heard such powerful testimonies as we do before baptism. I just left a church where they are expecting their members to have a spiritual health assessment with a church leader each year. This is a evaluation of how one is doing on the spiritual disciplines in his life. They are also expecting each member to give the whole tithe to this church, attend that church each Sunday, attend a Bible study with that church, be involved in service for this church at least five hours each week, be involved in intense personal Bible study each day, and pray a certain way each day. I left because I felt like this was too controlling and I was being judged all the time. The last straw was when a elder told me that I have to give up my job so I could attend church each Sunday morning at that church and my work is caring for autistic people so that parents can go places by themselves such as attend a wedding or a church service. I feel that my job is a ministry of God. I now attend a church that has a Thursday night service and does not require spiritual health assessments.

Candice brown True, ma, true. Most of the time pastors ARE trying to maintain status. Be it their own salaries or the look (size, extra features that aren't exactly necessary) and ability of their church in competing with other churches (being on TV, internet, etc). There's a scripture that goes something to this effect...(God speaking) there will be those who will come and and speak in My name and will use My people for merchandise. Simply put...there are false men and woman who use God's word to pimp people out of money, possessions, and sadly enough acts of fornication. Now having said that, we are supposed to tithe. And yes you can bring blessing or curse from it, here's why. FIRST, it is a commandment. You having a job is His blessing. You being able to work is His blessing (being alive, in your right mind, being physically able, etc.) Second, there are people in and outside of the church who come to be in need (true need mind you) where some of those funds can be used for their aid. Lastly, the heat, air, lights, water, bread and wine, etc. costs. Some of that money goes to that obviously. So these funds are His not because He needs them but because they can aid in helping those in need and upkeep His house.

Excellent! I started pastoring in 1975. I was way too young. Some things we learn the hard way but we will learn whether we want to or not. Thank you. Btw, I'm still pastoring and so grateful for the faithfulness of our Lord.

Wow, you described my last church. We were there for almost 19 years. At first, it was pretty good, but over time all these things showed up and made Sunday the worst day of the week. There are some folks that become pastors to prove they are good people and it's an easy entry point to get respect. Good message!

One of the reasons ministry becomes idolatry is men go into it with a priveleged, power-wielding attitude rather than that of servant first of God then the brethren. Jesus, the Pioneer and Perfecter of our faith, is the chief example of being a servant. He said he came to serve, not to be served. He always did what was pleasing to his Father and he served others selflessly while seldom meeting with gratitude (remember how only one of the 10 healed lepers came back to thank him?) Seeking titles (bishop, prophet, deacon, apostle, pastor, etc.) for the implied prestige and clout they carry is why there is so much scandal in churches today. As the Holy Spirit through James writes, "Where jealousy and selfish ambition exist there will be disorder and every other vile practice." It's about the pride of life, not glorifying God and building his church.

That's my confirmation right there thank you. The pastor called me and made it seem like I was supposed to give 10% of 20k from a 401k check I cashed due to me being out a a job that's reliant on driving a vehicle but my car was down from a accidental curb hit during a snow storm we recently had in my city. I told him I don't have a job right now so I can't give too much of nothing right now. He said "we gone have to talk about tithes and offerings Sir" I told him on a meeting call with the core group to mention to people when you introduce the "credit card swipe" method yes and credit card swipper. That he needs to do a preface and let them know it's not a scam and he didn't come the following Tuesday night lol. I'll break the news to him soon. He wants me to go to a meeting tonight when i told him IM sick and possibly have strept throat. He tried to say having flu like symptoms is no excuse for not attending a meeting 🤔. The more I say the crazier it sounds then proceeds to explain how he was previously in the medical field ok.....and?

I once had a pastor who had a son I was best friends with for 5 years. Me and him were so close, we were almost like brothers. But after the departure of my parents from the church, I decided it was best for me to follow them soon after. The pastor’s son hasn’t talked to me since, and numerous false rumors have spread about my family as well as me by the pastor. Unbelievable!

No controversy here at all, just truth. I am a new pastor but hearing you here is exactly what I have learned in my 40 plus years sitting in the congregation and what I am bringing with me into the pastorate. God bless you Allen, and I pray other pastors listen to your message and humble themselves to the truth.

The "yes men" thing seems to have entered heavily into my own church. New pastor voted in after last one retired, and he replaced the entire staff of the church with his family and close followers. Most of them having been following him since they were teenagers in his youth group. All of them young and impressionable. They will do anything he asks, including moving across four states into a place they dont have homes or jobs. I been praying about it for 7 months and dont know how else to proceed.

A much needed teachings. This. is the " Absolute Truth". I have experienced this type Truth for over 50 plus years. Look at Worship Centers today. If you teach like Allen Parr is teaching. Many would "Ask him To Leave." Tell him that is not Biblical. I had that told to me about Word of God. I was told that is Not Scriptures. When I was reading the Word of God. This topic needs to be discussed.

One this now that’s seems to be a common theme is giving Satan far too much credit, every time something bad happens oh that was Satan if it’s a bad thought that’s him too. It’s discouraging people from taking accountability for their own actions and not seeing the part that humans play in wrongdoings. The chains are gone, stop giving him credit for actions he didn’t cause and take some responsibility 🙈🙈🙈

YES! How about when everyone in leadership INSISTS that a whole long series of opposition and tragedies that have occured is confirmation that tg he church is on the right track?🤔😔 when they are clearly derailing, in fact some tragic outcomes being direct consequences of hardened necks😪 and still not listening to anyone else's correction😔🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Kirsty Allan at the same time we need to be aware of Satan and his minions becuz some of those things people want to brush off are Satan. For example, demons hide themselves well in people which affect relationships. Why is there sin? Free will. Man failed but why becuz of the tempter. One must know his adversary in order to be able to fight him. I honestly don’t think he gets talked about enough and gets dismissed. The world is only getting more evil. People want to blame shootings on gun laws or the person being mentally ill. If Satan has reign of this world where do you think all the evil they is ramping up originated from. Satan. Sin is now part of the curse put on us til Satan is done away with but who originally tempted Adam and Eve to sin. Honestly I think the serpent crafted his words so well that they had no idea they were sinning or what sin even was. I get where you r coming from, but since we live in this fallen world now, Satan has reign and he takes full advantage any way he can to get us to blame someone or something else, he’s the great deceiver. He’s patient. He knows and watches us just like God.
@kirstyallan77794 жыл бұрын
jodi irvin have to partly disagree he is not omnipresent or omnipotent or can he place thoughts in our minds only God has those strengths , yes he has his ways but human action plays a great part too in seeing his plans through x
@pdpode89784 жыл бұрын
Kirsty Allan he can only be in one place at one time, correct, but his fallen angels aka demons can do his business for him elsewhere, I don’t think he can put thoughts in our minds but...he can observe, watch our actions, hear us and learn and know us like God can such as our strengths/weaknesses/when we are vulnerable or not standing firm in god or our guards are down, our minds is where his battlefield is. It says in the word: “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4 “In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.” Ephesians 6:16 He can do these to us that affect our minds whether immediately or later on down the road, for example if someone was raped as a child, that would definitely be extreme evil and the devil influencing someone. He is the great deceiver. He can get ahold of our minds very easily. He throws temptations our way in the physical which then lead to the emotional/mental to make a choice. This shows something here: “It was time for supper, and the devil had already prompted Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.” John 13:2 How did the devil just prompt Judas like he did? I don’t think by Jesus giving him a piece of bread would do that. I do believe he does his battling with us in the mind. Fear is an emotion. Its cones from our Brian’s. It’s not from God clearly stated in scripture so where else would it come from. Fear is something the devil most definitely uses to keep us from doing God’s work by planting seeds of doubt along our path. I don’t have time to look up anymore scriptures right now, have to go to an appt but I know there’s enough about Satan in the Bible to suggest he most definitely can get ahold of our minds whether he can directly put thoughts in there or not. He will do what he has to do to pull us off the path and will be patient and take his time to make his moves just like God does though God is more powerful than him. He does still permit Satan to do evil things to us. Book of Job, perfect example.
@kirstyallan77794 жыл бұрын
jodi irvin I respect your view as I hope you do mine. In the grand scheme of things he is not mentioned a lot in the bible and yes he can place doubt or temptation in paths but free will on our part needs to take place. Job is actually my favourite book of the bible and God allowed him to do anything to job but not destroy him and Jobs faithfulness is outstanding. As a victim of child abuse I also believe that although I indeed may have been the temptation there was choice in the action of others. I guess this is where the bible saying you have to fearfully find your own faith comes into play we will all have different opinions and healthy discussions is helpful. Have a blessed day x

one major problem I see amongst pastors especially My people of color is a gross misunderstanding of the difference between the Old Covenant saints slash Church and the New Covenant saints slash church most of these pastors operate and carry themselves like Old testament saints where the Word of Godvwss revealed EXCLUSIVELY through the PROPHEY PRIEST or KING. These pastors truly feel the people in the pews have ZERO revelation other than the revelation they. the pastor gets from God vand gives it to them. Furthermore these same pastors love to preach from the old testaments without even connecting the dots to find out how we as New covenant believers should act. As a result of this behavior congregants never truly come to an understanding of who THEY ARE in Christ, or even are encouraged to discover their own individual tole in ministry and in the body. Instead their doomed to become spectators waiting for their pastor to release them give them a word Etc.

Wow this video is so on point. The culture of a church begins at the top. Too many pastors act like God speaks directly through them in order to influence others to get what they want. Every church I’ve been a part of treats you like an enemy when it’s time to move on or if you decide to stop serving in their ministry. I’ve seen pastors bawl out congregations from the pulpit and I’ve seen pastors isolate themselves to where you could not even contact them unless you’re part of their ‘inner circle’. I’m the first to cut them slack because we all have issues but it doesn’t set well with a lot of people. The remedy is to keep God First and follow in the steps He has ordered ‘for you’ and not what another person necessarily thinks you should do. Sometimes that means stay and wait and sometimes it means step out without a net and see what God does.
