I think it is relative - there are soooooooooooo many ridiculously expensive places now. Places you wouldn't think in the midwest. When I moved back to the midwest from the south my rent doubled. house prices are whew!

Prices have definitely increased but it is also very dependent on what you are looking at and where - even just within Knox County prices vary drastically.

I'm surprised about the various municipalities having restrictions on fireworks. I'm on Long Island NY. Fireworks are 100% illegal here. Yet we have enough fireworks going on around July 4th to reenact Verdun World War One. I remember my Dad back from a business trip in Nashville in the late 60's bringing back a briefcase full of firecrackers for me. He also brought back a glass gallon jug of homemade whiskey, but that's a different story. Good, informative video!

It goes on for weeks where I live - I love to look at them but I cannot stand them really - the sound is so unsettling nowadays - it sounds like bombs going off and people do it from early day (weird) till 2 or 3 in the morning and for at least 1 week if not more. I heard some last night again. It is so rude. Plus with so many places in drought and wildfires, it is horrible.

@@jbjacobs9514 Last year was more intense around here. Still a couple of crazies setting them off until 4AM but much more sporadic than in the past.

@@barneyfyfe8313 OMG = I would have just gone crazy. I was worse than people have stated about their dogs and cats! LOL Weirdly, it never used to bother me (though people never did it that late or that loud or crazy before) but the last few years or so...just gets on my last nerve! I get so rattled. Even more weirdly, when I had guinea piggies for decades (no, that is not the weird part, lol), they didn't seem to mind it or care at all...now turn on a vacuum on the other hand...

@@jbjacobs9514 We had guinea pigs too! The only noises they were aware of was the refrigerator door opening or the front door. Both were met with loud squeals! They wanted either some grass from the front lawn or skins shaved off cucumbers.

Guinea Pigs - that never crossed my mind!!! My dog certainly hates fireworks but I hadn’t honestly thought about other pets.

Good info about the septic and well water. Is there satellite options for internet? Are there fires in east Knoxville area?
@HaleyJonesRealtor
@HaleyJonesRealtor Жыл бұрын
Yes, there are several satellite internet providers in the east Knoxville area. Here are a few options: Windstream, Image Communications, TDS, Local Net, and T MED SATELLITE UNLIMITED. As for fires in the east Knoxville area, there are several active wildfires in the area.

You mentioned trash removal services. How much on average does that cost for weekly pickups for a year?
@HaleyJonesRealtor
@HaleyJonesRealtor Жыл бұрын
Hi! It varies by company and location, but for example, my mom pays $46/month.

@@HaleyJonesRealtor Thanks! I was just trying to be realistic about yearly expenses. I know the property taxes are much lower but didn't want to be delusional about other items such as trash removal and fire department subscriptions. Sounds like about $1000 total for both. I'll take that all day over my property taxes where "everything is included". $18/yr for 1/5 acre cape cod. (1500 sq ft)

Okay sorry for a book: first, your haircut is awesome! Love it - love the highlights & the "sharp edges". I love that type of cut. Second, love your opening - it is great! Now, down to business: haha So I wasn't as disoriented about the roads because I had lived in NC and driven through WV a lot. They have nutty, windy roads in places. I did have to get used to the severe incline/decline because of the mountains/hills. It was quite the work out and great for exercise. But the lungs had to catch up (and my wee, stumpy legs!). The other thing was, and I know, TMI, but because of my immune system and nose sensitivity, I had tons of nosebleeds all the time (like, taking an hour to subside kind!). But totally worth it because I loved Knoxville to bits! One weird sidenote: banks - I cannot believe you have US Bank now. When I moved to TN, I had BOA but wanted a local bank so I opened a First Tennessee one. I believe it has changed to some other bank (I got that because it was across the street from my townhouse on Middlebrook Pike near Kroger and (memories) Hollywood Video! I have had to change banks over the years because of moving so much - I did end up with US Bank in Iowa for awhile. But it is weird how banks migrate. Anyway, thanks for taking us on a tour of the fireworks and the county line - I felt like I went on a little "road trip" with you - great!

Im from south Florida where all the homes ara made of concrete, One of my concerns is that I see many wooden houses, and they seem so fragile, I also see some brick houses that seem more solid, 🤷
